hello! someone asked if there will be an option to be trans in the game and the answer is yes!

but, please note that there is a segment in episode 4 where mc delves into the topic of their gender identity and sexual orientation, including their experience of coming out. they will also talk about the reaction of the general public to the news and can open up about the impact being involuntarily hypersexualised (for all mcs) in the industry had on them (if thats part of your chosen backstory) and the emotional toll of receiving inappropriate, disturbing and threatening messages online after the incident! (exclusive to queer and f!mcs)

i understand that all of this can be triggering to many. and that is why, you can choose to opt out of these scenes in the game! the mc will brush over the topic without diving too deep into it, so that you guys don't miss out on anything!

Customising a Tiny Nintendo DS Keychain

I'm always on the lookout for Professor Layton merch, so when this little keychain popped up on eBay, I was immediately interested.

I have a few Professor Layton items, but I had never seen this keychain before. I have no idea if this is genuine merch, valuable or highly sought after but I thought it was cute and for only £5 I knew I had to get it.

When it arrived, it was so much teenier than I expected. Here's it in my hand for comparison.

It even closes like a real Nintendo DS.

However, the keychain isn't exactly in perfect condition. The images under the plastic have started peeling and there is glue leaking out.

But that's no problem. Because I had the idea to just replace the images with my own!

If this is a valued item, you might want to look away because I'm about to wreck it.

So I started with finding replacement images. I decided to add a different scene from another Layton game. I feel like the scene they picked is an odd choice. I mean, does anyone care about Deke?

Once I decided what images I wanted, I booted up my emulator and started Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy. The scene I wanted appears near the very end, so I did quite possibly the world's fastest speed run.

After what feels like an eternity, I reach the scene I want. Then all I need to do is take a screenshot and upload to a word document.

Before I go any further, I carefully removed the plastic covers and measure them to see how big I need to print the pictures. I also cleaned them up a bit to get rid of the glue.

Then it's printing time!

Once they're printed, I carefully cut them out, slip them into the keychain and fix the plastic cover over the top

And volia!

A miniature version of my Nintendo DS with a scene of my choice.

And the good news is that I didn't need to use any glue or tape, so I can easily remove it and restore it to how it was.

Cube

One of the main eye-catchers Wayfire had for me personally was the cube plugin. It puts all Workspaces in a row(yes, there are rows columns and i'll probably talk about them some-when else) on a 3D cube (or triangular prism if you have 3x3 Workspaces like me) that you can freely rotate.

It also renders a complete sphere around it that moves with it. For best results you should get an image that's actually meant for a spherical skybox. I believe i found this one in a Minecraft pack for the Ultrakill Cybergrind, but I've also found www.kubische-panoramen.de that seems to be promising.

For my later setup I'd like to make my own one however. i envision a grassy plain with flowers and all the good shit on a sunny day, with maybe Xenia and Tux sitting to the side a little, maybe having a pick-nick. maybe a couple other mascots too if i find nice models. For that I'll have to learn some blender, which takes me over to a favor i ask of y'all:

If you know of any nice 3d models of Xenia and Tux, as well as maybe a premade colorful grassy plain, I'd love it if you shared them with me.

I have no experience with blender as of yet, so don't expect results anytime soon but i'll keep you updated when and if i make progress.

i created this cause i found some time to finally upgrade and properly personalise my laptop, it took me almost an entire day watching youtube videos, researching for these and setting them up. so... i'm basically posting this for myself lol, but i also feel like sharing cause these are actually really good hehe

i'm using a windows laptop but i think most of these should work on mac too. most of these are free but there are maybe like less than five that require to be paid.
