Everquest again
The fact that there are no male prostitutes in Neriak implies queer sexuality being the norm for all evil races.

So I said I would post pics of my decorating...
so here you go.
First, here's what the space looked like before I put anything in it:
Just a big, winter palace-y open space. And then...
Oop, things got different. In game lore wise, this house is located in Neriak, which is the underground cave city of the Tier'dal (the EQ2 version of Drow), so even though we're outside the house, still no sky.
Here's the front room. The lighting is wonky because I just have random lights placed to light up where I'm working at any given time. As you can see, I'm still working on the structure, so there's no actual furniture yet.
Here's the kitchen. Again, not a lot in the way of furniture yet. What I love about EQ2 decorating is that everything you use is customizable in terms of placement, rotation, size, whatever. So these walls are made out of the backs of cabinets, and the fireplace is made of chairs and some benches. The wainscoting in the picture of the living room is all bench backs, too. It really lets you do some cool things.
This is the library. Why is there only one bookcase in here?
Because it's a secret door! This leads down a spooky corridor to a lab and a cave garden.
In the conservatory now. The ceiling is still being done in here, as well as the last panel of windows.
The view of this little waterfall wall can be seen from the conservatory or the balcony of the parlor. It's one of my favorite parts of this house so far, and it was made completely from scratch with a variety of rocks, plants, and cleverly hidden fountains. The balcony is still very unsafe, as it has no railings. Norrath doesn't have OSHA.
Here's a behind the scenes shot of the structure. You can see the parlor, the top of the staircase, as well as the ceiling of the dining room (made with tables) and some other in-the-walls junk. Eventually, the area on top of the dining room will be the master bedroom.
Added a short flight of stairs to the master and picked a rug to use for the floor, which I'll lay more of to cover the entire room, and then it will be time to finish the upstairs walls.
That's as far as I've gotten today, and I think it's time for a break from screens for a bit. I've been making good time this weekend though so hopefully I can get the structure finished this week and then start planning furniture and accessory placement!

I just remembered the very first Felawnie. She was a dark elf in EQ, a low ranking member of a Neriak house(pretty sure she hung out in the J'Narus Private Mansion) who liked strolls along the fortifications, practicing magic on rooftops(pro tip: don’t cast Blind on yourself when on a rooftop), delivering letters, and then using the proceeds from delivering letters to buy alcohol and getting drunk in her room. What fun. She had a schedule and everything. I’d play her exactly once a day. XD Do her silly little tasks, spend all her money on booze, get her blackout drunk, log off. Just your ordinary 12 yr old, playing a drunkard.

“Cristanos is still possessed, still a bitch, and still having problems with the Thexians. In fact, the only new development in Neriak is that the ambassador’s favorite cheesecake place burned down. Quite a shame. Apparently they had a very talented halfling cook working there.”
“Funny how these things happen,” he said dismissively. “Anyway, back to my letter – I didn’t think they’d be able to turn a profit this quickly. I only sent them the mold yesterday!”
“What mold – never mind, I don’t care. Just see for yourself,” she said and handed him the already-opened letter.
Lucan snatched the letter from her. “Tayil, stop reading my mail! This is very sensitive correspondence.”
“I’m your highest advisor and have been your de facto secretary ever since you threw the last one in the pit. I’m not reading your mail for fun,” she lied.
Two weeks without handicrafts - if you missed them, fret not, we're going back to Freeport and revisit one of EQ2's most infamous features: /pizza

Queen Christianos Thex
I am hanging out in Neriak Fourth Gate lately and I have to admit, I actually like the company of those snobby dark elfs. I do visit the queen every other day. She only threw me in the dungeon once. I think she likes me 😸
Expect more Neriak spam, I made pics and gifs.
