The Benefits of Neurofeedback Therapy
Neurofeedback therapy, also known as neurotherapy, is a form of biofeedback that combines real-time visual exhibits of brain electrical activity with real-time responses of the human body's nervous system, normally electroencephalogram (EEG) recordings. The objective of neurofeedback would be to improve the functions of the central nervous system and increase mental elasticity and flexibility. When there are no known scientific trials of neurofeedback therapies, several hundred million people from various countries have engaged in such treatments within the previous twenty decades. A number of reviews of the outcomes of these trials have concluded that they are successful, and that the amount of advancement varies extensively among the patients.
Neurofeedback therapy, sometimes known as neurofeedback near me, has become increasingly popular during the past several years as more evidence suggests it helps patients with depression, ADHD, and anxiety disorders. Additionally, studies have shown that it's positive effects on patients that suffer from obsessive compulsive disorder and post traumatic stress disorder.
Just like all types of therapeutic techniques, neurofeedback should be used only by licensed and skilled practitioners. It should not be performed by novice therapists since it can result in potentially serious medical problems.
Brainwaves are shown on electrodes placed in the patient's scalp. The electrodes detect changes in electrical patterns in the brain, which is believed to indicate the occurrence of neurological activity in the brain. The electrodes are sensitive enough to ascertain in which the mind is in order to ascertain its precise action. When certain brainwave frequencies are present in the brain, the body's response is interpreted as being connected to a certain stimulus. For instance, a spike in EEG when the individual is considering a nice memory or a calming feeling is considered to be related to that memory or feeling.
Stimulation can happen either by utilizing a hand-held apparatus or by using a trained practitioner to carry out the therapy neurofeedback. Electrodes are implanted in a variety of areas of the patient's head, usually the temporal and frontal lobes, where the brain's action is tracked. Stimulating the brain with different types produces corresponding results.
The most common regions of stimulation would be the parietal lobe, cerebellum, midbrain, and hippocampus. Additional parts of the brain may also be aroused by neurofeedback therapy but aren't yet known. But, recent research indicates it may aid with Alzheimer's disease, attention deficit disorder, chronic pain, and chronic fatigue syndrome. While no trials have been run on other psychiatric conditions, more study is required to ascertain its potential benefits.

Reeeeee
I have so much I want to write about but I don't know how to start. Besides pointing out how utterly retarded I can be. LOL. For a year I thought a very important friend ditched me without considering all the possibilities surrounding the situation. Actually a couple friends. Only just now to finally realize it was just miscommunication all around. So I've agonized and probably upset people during all this time because stupid me is a coward. I'm so happy though now. At least I think it's happy. All I remember was getting so overwhelmed when I finally talked to my friend again and burst into tears and then a full fledged panic attack. LOL. As much trouble as that panic attack wrought me the past couple days, it was worth it. My emotions are so freaking like hyped up on Monster drinks I swear. Everything's so confusing. And I'm trying to sort them back out but it's just like I threw a bunch of picture stained glass in a blender and set it on fast for like 40 minutes. Like what the hell is this crap? I want to start talking with them again so bad but I'm still scared of myself. Gah -slaps self- but I'm excited I think to talk again. Anyways, I had been dealing with some major anxiety the past couple of weeks but have been trying hard to keep it down and manageable. HAH as if you can contain that beast. I went to church on Sunday and worked up the nerve to give some of my money to the couple that counseled me for their mission work but then I got sidetracked by someone else trying to talk to me and then a stranger just started going on talking to me saying she lived near by and hell. Had my dad drag me out of there because panic attack. I so don't do well with strangers in crowds. Nope. Then I went off and wrote to my friends and then bam panicking intensified. Still worth it though. I'd do it all again. Got to see my psych early this morning. (Had to cancel my eye doctors appointment that I'd been waiting for for THREE YEARS NOW) She had an opening thank God. So we're doing a DNA test to see what medications will be accepted well with my body and change it according to the results. For now though Ativan has been increased. I'd actually been taking such a tiny amount and now that I've gained nearly forty pounds, yeah that stuff doesn't do nothing now. LOL. And people's regular doses are like 2mg and I was like .5mg. Ok. Yeah loool so upping that. But yesterday was horrible. I hadn't slept much the night before waking periodically with panic and feeling sick to my stomach which continued into the morning where I just flat out lost it. Dad told me to take like 2mg of Ativan and then like half an hour later of freaking out for what... 2-3 hours (exhauuustioooon) I just like died mentally. I just rolled over and wanted to sleep. Parents had to take the day off to take care of me and we tried going to a psych ward to see if they could help. Let me tell you- they will do nothing for people with panic disorder. And the place was so dirty with food crumbs everywhere and it was sticky in some places, especially the floor. I started having a panic attack just being there! LOL so I decided to leave. And they weren't going to admit me anyways. Oh and let's not forget that the rubber tubing on this last batch of feed bags suck so my machine doesn't recognize it and gives rotor errors like crazy. Dad tried calling the peeps to fix it but instead they gave me a used pump to replace it and forgot to give us a charger. So I went some hours without feed but I don't care too much. It was nice to walk around free for a bit. But now it really looks like I will end up going to an eating disorder clinic out of state sometime at the end of the year perhaps. What a way to spend my birthday xD not like I liked it anyhow. Dunno what we're going to do about this neurotherapy stuff either. It's not working and my dad's thinking that the new treatment we started (LENS) may be having an adverse effect. Parents told me that I need to go clothes shopping now though since I got SS. Especially now that only two pairs of pants fit... My prom dress doesn't fit anymore and neither does my homecoming dress. Dx I loved them bothhhhhh RIP I WILL MISS YOUUUU
