I have ADHD and I find myself distracted (calmed) by social media when my social anxiety flares up. What tools would you suggest I use to help me pick my head up from my head and be more social?
Exercise decreases stress hormones, releasing feelings of tension, while elevating mood and confidence levels.
Reading
A way to get lost in another world and leave the worrying thoughts behind. Find a cozy corner of your room, make a hot drink, and get lost in a good book. Your body will feel less tense and your mind will feel more at ease
Yoga
Yoga reduces the physiological symptoms of anxiety, encouraging you to turn your mind off and find a few moments of peace and calm.
Get outside
Spending some time in nature and taking a few breaths of fresh air can help to clear your mind, improve your mood, and decrease feelings of stress, worry, and anxiety.
Writing
Keeping a journal provides a place to contemplate, reflect, and organize your thoughts and feelings. Use it as a way to express yourself.
Spend time with pets
Pets are a great source of comfort and security, which is perfect for elevating mood, providing a sense of calmness, and combating anxiety.
I long for the day when we don't have to use physical ailments as analogies to describe the severity of mental issues. Please show me this in my lifetime.
How about whumpee who gets rescued, but whumper shows up to get them back, and caretaker is about to kill whumper, but whumpee doesn’t let care taker kill whumpee. And then when whumper is locked up in the brig (think the waverider brig in lot) whumpee has to deal with the fear of whumper somehow escaping, despite the team trying desperately to reassure whumpee that whumper can’t escape.
I AM INFACT; NO DEAD!!!! I AM working, or rather dreading Turtle drawings, I want to say happy birthday to the Turtle anon but your request was is so much harder and I've never seen turtle emojis before!! This is troubling when looking for references, but I won't give up!! They just, might not be done for the birthday party, so sorry! But, in the mean time, have some crappy anxiety emojis, much love!!! And I'll see you all hopefully with some Turtle emojis soon! D:
I’m so tired of posts being like “REBLOG OR YOUR MOM DIES! REBLOG OR YOU’LL NEVER HAVE ANOTHER CREATIVE IDEA AGAIN! REBLOG OR YOU’LL GO BLIND!” And shit like that. Like as someone with invasive thoughts from OCD, that shit can suck, and I’m not reblogging it either because I would feel bad that then someone else feels like they have to etc
If you want me to reblog your post how about you post content that doesn’t revolve around exploiting people’s anxieties.
It doesn’t affect me as badly as it used to but it sucks so much to grapple with fear and then guilt of reblogging, like please don’t do this shit. It’s funny when it’s like “REBLOG OR ELSE A GARDEN GNOME WILL STEAL YOUR BALLS!!!” But stuff like blindness, death, and that kind of shit can cause serious anxiety for others. Please think before you go fishing for reblogs.
