for @mouselungs — cove holden: dialogue 22, scenario 16, gn!reader “you can come closer, you know. i don't bite.” , person a (becomes flustered) seeing person b dressed formally for the first time
for my 2k follower event >:o
“they should be coming down soon.”
cove stops fiddling with his suit’s cuffs, his glances towards the mirror next to him immediately shooting towards the sound of liz’s voice.
“don’t let your jaw drop too far, lover boy,” she teases. she and your moms had decided to let him see you first before the others, all of them waiting outside the door, just to “make your lives a little easier.” she’s out the door before cove can try to retort or even be embarrassed—and then he hears you making your way down the stairs.
cove has seen you a lot. he's been flustered and surprised by many outfits over the years—he still remembers the first time you put on an anklet as if it were yesterday. but he could confidently say that this was the first time he's had his breath really taken away.
any compliment or coherent thought of his gets stuck in his throat, his breath hitching as you pause at the bottom of the steps.  barely aware of your own stare, his gaze follows the outfit from your shoes up to your face, back down again, flickering at each detail and accessory.
it was so…you. that was the first thought he had. from the colour to the silhouette to the accessories you dawned—the outfit was so incredibly, wholly you. it was as if it was made for you to wear, and only you.
“you can come closer, you know. i don’t bite,” you tease him, having known he'd need a moment or two. cove's finally brought back to reality at the sound of your voice. his chest almost aches at the way your presence overwhelms him. he takes a step toward you, and then another. "i—"
he stutters. he tries again. "you…um. the—it—i really—" blinking quickly, cove breathes out a laugh at himself. an embarrassed but loving smile grows on his face. “you look…you look incredible.”
“thank you,” you reply. you take your time to look at the suit cove put on, and the new hairdo he said he would try. you tilt your head with a grin. “don’t look too bad yourself.”
he blushes and scratches the back of his neck, clearing his throat before saying a soft thank you. part of him had forgotten he had dressed up himself and was suddenly hyper aware of how different this was to his usual attire. “i’m serious. i think everything suits you perfectly, and i’m really happy you found everything you wanted.”
the sincerity in his voice makes you pause and stare at him. unable to think of anything else, you thank him again and hope he feels the affection in your words. there’s a beat of silence as you continue to look at each other’s outfits for the evening, and deciding to have mercy, you loop your arm with his and change the topic. “so are you ready for tonight?”
cove’s recovered enough at this point that he smiles and interlocks his fingers with yours, lifting the back of your hand to leave a chaste kiss against your knuckles. your own surprise brings out a soft laugh from him before he finally responds. “as long as i have you? i’m always ready.”

WWE Wrestlemania 37 Day 2 - Review
Tumblr media
And we are back! Wrestlemania hit hard with Day 1, good shit and big moments fitting of the show
So let's see if Day 2 can match up to it, lots of big matches on the card, we'll see how it goes.
See the Night 1 Review Here
Spoilers for Night 2 and References to Night 1 included, you have been Warned
Pre-Show Like the last Night, no matches on the Pre-Show, just drivel and promos. So the same criticisms really, Lawler saying 'Wrestlerainia' doesn't make it any better than when Cole said it, his attempts at jokes were awful even when they were his material. When they recapped Night 1 though they should've shown footage of Ford celebrating with Bianca rather than just say it - a Picture says a Thousand Words. Standard Promo Package lies apply too, 'Rhea Ripley has brutalized everyone she's come through' ...except Io Shirai and Raquel Gonzalez, similar went down for the second half of HOF because Great Khali is only there to pander to India - also what did the Mayor of Knox County ever do for WWE? Sonya also popped up again, strangely to talk about the Nigerian Drum Fight - which Booker T talked about the most, if I wanted to watch a bunch of old dudes talk over Sonya Deville I'd be drinking bleach. She also stuck for Sami vs KO, and barely talked in that too.
Also the promo they had about Kofimania was rough to watch, considering how it ended and how Kofi fared on Night 1, all this to promote a cheesy Cricket commercial about him not touching the ground...
The 24/7 title even got a continuation of ads, but it was more a 'to be concluded on Youtube' - honestly the belt has run its course, Truth has ran out of jokes and it's been reduced to an Old Spice ad crossover.
Main Card Starting once more with 'America the Beautiful', replacing the boob window with a bright yellow hat. It was fine, as a Brit 'America the Beautiful' does nothing for me.
They then did the same intro package as night 1 just with some different clips, skippable. And the shoddy camera switching is still there.
Hogan and Titus came out again this time in pirate outfits, there was noticeable boos in Hogan's bits with cheesy pirate puns. In the end the host concept was wasted on them. Reminder that names in Bold are those I predicted to win.
Randy Orton def. The Fiend [w/Alexa Bliss] (Pinfall via RKO) Orton opened night 2 in white tights and a fairy long-winded entrance, the melted Fiend then walked through a corridor of fire LEDs as CGI burned away into his original Fiend look...but Alexa's Firefly Funhouse music hit. Cutesy Bliss approached a giant Jack in a Box commentary act like just 'appeared'. The Fiend arose from the box in a combat vest, posed then dove right at Orton. Red lights cover the match throughout, Uranage and a neck snap started the match as the Fiend continued to do his spooky thing, it looks like he was gonna set up the punt but Randy rolls out of the ring. Randy hits the back body slam on the Announcer's Desk but it's no sold into the Mandible Claw, rope break and apron DDT from Orton only staggers the Fiend but rebounding his neck off the ropes grounds him momentarily. Orton tries to methodically beat down the Fiend but the monster hits back hard, a missed Senton and a senton follows some head kicks and another apron DDT, he sets up for an RKO but the Fiend gets the Mandible Claw (which commentary no sold even though he has won titles with that move), he sets up Sister Abigail but the ring posts pyro like Kane and before Fiend is Bliss with new makeup, dripping in black goo she extends her hand to the Fiend from the jack in the box, RKO and...3!? Post match Fiend and Alexa stare down, the electricity shorts out and both members disappear.
That's it? That's what we got? The Fiend was burned alive and survived but 1 RKO does it? The Fiend no sold so much in his career and one RKO felled him. The fuck man, this was as bad as the last time these two went at mania, you'd think like the brilliant Firefly Funhouse Match last year we'd get some course correction. But nope, Fiend's story is just being taken over by Alexa and this daft-ass black goo stuff, I don't get the motivation either. Fiend helped Alexa straddle Orton for a 3 count at Fastlane, talked all big for months about how the Fiend was going to obliterate Orton and it lasted about 8 minutes, the entrances lasted longer! Last year the Fiend was great with a cinematic match, but WWE have somehow managed to systematically destroy one of their most inventive characters time and time again, not a good start.
Backstage once again Bayley gets buried by the Hosts and this time Eric Bischoff as she tried to push Ding Dong Hello and got jealous of them talking up Bianca vs Sasha from last night.
WWE Women's Tag Championship - Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax (c) def. Natalya & Tamina (Ref Stoppage Submission by Baszler on Natalya via Kirufuda Clutch) Not a promising sign to follow the opener with this match, the challengers entered quickly with Natalya having a slightly altered attire. Jax and Baszler came in with red, black and gold. Natalya and Baszler start the match with some mat wrestling, Natalya almost gets the Sharpshooter so Shayna tags Nia in, Nia shoves Natalya and demands that Tamina - her old tag partner - be tagged in. Both trade headbutts, Tamina almost lifts Nia but fails, she tags in Natalya for the double back body drop and drops the blind tagged Shayna onto her partner. Natalya tries a Sharpshooter but is schoolboy'd for 2, Natalya retaliates with a German Suplex, whipping Shayna into a Clothesline, then launch pad into a superkick. As Shayna strikes back an advantage she stiffs Natalya in the mouth with a knee (legitimately, there was a picture of a welt before) Nia brawls with Tamina outside, hitting a powerslam outside of the ring. Another knee strike floors Natalya for 2 as Shayna works on the leg, kneebar and then an ankle stomp, Nia follows up with a Legdrop over the injured leg, another kneebar and then combos of swing/knee strike and irish whip/powerslam. Nia runs into the turnbuckle as Natalya floors Nia with multiple lariat attempts, Nia though hits back with a Chokeslam/Powerbomb thing they called a Spinebuster but the pin is broken by Tamina. Tamina gets the hot tag against Shayna, Baszler tries to weaken the leg, then the Kirufuda clutch but Tamina powers into a Samoan Drop. She goes up for a Superfly Splash but Shayna kicks her, Nia looks to do an Avalanche Samoan Drop but Natalya pulls Tamina away, she lariats Baszler but Nia hits the crossbody on both opponents for 2, favouring the knee after. Talking trash to Tamina she gets hit with a slam, Nia's repositioning couldn't be missed by the wide shot as Tamina goes for the Superfly Splash, but nobody home. Natalya's tagged and she goes for Baszler in the corner, Baszler counters and blind tags as Nia lifts Natalya up, but she wriggles out, floors Baszler again and sets the Sharpshooter on the now not legal Nia. Baszler cinches in the Kirufuda clutch and the match is over.
The fact that this was more eventful than the opener speaks volumes. It was a match, I don't think there's many people who feel like Nia and Shayna deserve this spot. Shayna was great in NXT but she's not doing herself any favours stiffing her opponents, Nia's rubbing off in a bad way. I had the challengers to win because I'm bored of them still being champions - only briefly giving it to Asuka and Charlotte so Charlotte can add that to her list - they should've either dropped to NXT or let the Riott Squad win, there was nothing in this match to invest in.
Rey Mysterio is used to promote 2K22. A surprise since we thought WWE and 2K's partnership was done, I am a huge fan of Rey so it was nice to see, much nicer if he was actually on Wrestlemania and getting a push...
Kevin Owens def. Sami Zayn [w/Logan Paul] (Pinfall via Stunner) JBL is the guest commentator for this...for some reason. Sami struts to the ring in dark green trying to pull off a Che Guevara look, a mini tantrum at the ramp before heading to the ring and grabbing the mic to introduce Logan Paul, who walks to the ring as Sami dances super embarrassingly in the ring. Owens then charges into the ring with vigor to get the crowd amped up. The bell rings, Sami tries the Helluva Kick and gets hit with a Pop-Up Powerbomb. KO punishes Sami in the start, dropping Sami gut-first on the ropes, corner clothesline and Cannonball as the camera awkwardly keeps cutting to Logan Paul. Sami gets a suplex on the apron to get back some momentum as he demands for Owens to be counted out, Owens rolls in at 8 but Sami continues to club at KO's head. Cole calls a Michinoku Driver a Blue Thunder Bomb but this time gets called out on it, pinfall is 2 and Sami gets into the ref's face. Attempted Superplex leads to a fistfight in the corner, Owens headbutts him off and Frog Splashes for 2, tries the Pop-Up powerbomb, Sami leapfrogs, Sami tries the Michinoku Driver but Owens reverses it into a meaty Pumphandle Neckbreaker for 2. He goes for the Package Piledriver but Sami hits the corner exploder, tries for the Helluva Kick but misses, KO tries the Stunner but it's reversed into a Blue Thunder Bomb for 2 as well. Two Exploders and a Brainbuster for 2 frustrates Sami further, brawling in the corner, he tries for a Superplex but gets hit with an Avalanche twisting Fisherman's Suplex. KO hits Sami with some corner clotheslines but as he runs to bounce off the other corner he runs into a Helluva Kick, Sami catching his collapsed friend as he sets it up again, 2 Superkicks from Owens and a Stunner finishes Sami off as Logan Paul applauds. Post-Match Logan checks on Sami and congratulates Owens, which Sami takes umbrage with. Logan shoves Sami as he storms off, Logan holds KO's arm in the air to boos, cheers start to rumble as Paul is hit with a stunner to a pop.
KO and Sami rarely disappoints, I don't think they really got to get out of second gear but it was still a good match. The Logan Paul stuff though was stupid and unnecessary, sure we got him to eat a Stunner but the ends don't justify the means. Also why was JBL there?
Backstage Riddle scooters across to Great Khali, stoner comedy doesn't land as Khali no sells it, RVD shows up to wish Riddle luck. Segment was meh.
US Championship - Sheamus def. Riddle (c) (Pinfall via Brogue Kick TITLE CHANGE!) Sheamus arrives blinding white but no special gear, Riddle scooters down in an Evil Knievel jacket, hologram doves with pirate hats and eyepatches adding to the cheese. Sheamus uses his power to start, but Riddle comes back with some chops, Sheamus hits back in each of his attempts; knee to the gut, then driving Riddle's sleeper in the corner, then a reversal swinging slam. Irish Curse gets 2, Riddle tries a Tarantula Armbreaker but Sheamus hits his Beats of Bodhran, he goes up high but Riddle reverses with a Spanish Fly Belly to Belly on the top turnbuckle. Riddle rallies with strikes, hits a Pele Kick and a Senton, to slight Goldberg Riddle hits the Jackhammer on the second time of trying but only gets 2. He tries the Bro Derek but Sheamus rolls back, Riddle kicks Sheamus away but in his slingshot lands into a Brogue Kick, 1, 2, No. Alabama Slam, 1, 2, No. He tries a White Noise on the Apron but gets pushed into the Ring Post and then German's on the Apron. An Apron PK and Moonsault keeps Sheamus down enough for Riddle to hit the Twisting Moonsault, he locks in the Reverse armbar but it's reversed into a deadlift powerbomb, Riddle then latches the sleeper for the rope break. Sheamus tries again for a Top Rope White Noise, Riddle tries to Sunset Bomb but fails, Riddle tries the Spanish Fly Belly to belly again but Sheamus grabs him. A stumble means that the two hop off the Turnbuckle for a normal White Noise, Sheamus goes up with a Knee Drop but it only hits 2. Sheamus calls for the Brogue, gets rolled up but catches the Knee strike, Riddle dodges the lariat, goes for a Springboard Moonsault but lands into the Brogue, 1, 2, 3. Post match Riddle is bleeding from the mouth, he angrily stares at the gleeful Sheamus who leaves with the title.
A good title match and much deserved from Sheamus, who has delivered in many matches on the later stages of of the Wrestlemania year, shame he was on the wrong brand to complete the set, he only needs the IC title to win everything. Riddle doesn't do it for me in this gimmick (which as I gather is mostly himself stoned) but credit where it's due, he put a good performance and that was a strong finish.
An odd package followed where Triple H handed Bad Bunny a golden briefcase with a skull microphone, which he opened atop his truck. The briefcase says Tour 2022 to promote his future tour.
Nigerian Drum Fight for the IC Title - Apollo Crews def. Big E (c) (Pinfall via Dabba Kato Chokeslam TITLE CHANGE!) The promo really hurt my ears to hear Apollo's accent devolve into this foreign heel gimmick. Wale though performs to enter Big E, more questionable camera cuts to E and the Fireworks. E's jacket represented Feeding Tampa Bay as a nice nod to the food bank, Apollo came out in Nigerian colors with his scarf and Spear. Commentary's line saying 'this isn't about percussion' falls kinda flat when there's drums around the ring.
Both men roll out to grab Kendo sticks, trading blows which E gets the power advantage over. E grabs the giant cymbal but Apollo knees it away, hits E with some more Kendo Shots back into the ring. You can hear the WAFT of Apollo's missed shot as E knocks him away and then does the out-of-ring spear. E sets up the lower steps near the apron but gets hit with a DVD on the apron, pinfall gets 2. Crews grabs the top half of the steps, lays E on the one he sets up and throws the other steps at it, but E rolls away just in time. On the apron Apollo hits a big boot, but on the second attempt falls into an Uranage onto the flat steps (which Cole called an Uranage Suplex for some reason...), after some trash talking E gets a table set up in the ring near a corner. Apollo kicks back and flurries E with a Kendo Stick, he rolls E onto the table to go for the frog splash, but E rolls away sending Apollo crashing through the table. E hits the Big Ending, but Dabba Kato/Babatunde in a military jacket breaks the pin, a sorta Samoan Spike and a Chokeslam leads to him dragging Apollo onto E for the win. Apollo gets a lot of unnecessary pyro and shakes his new comrade's hand.
Bit short that, the gimmick didn't really come into play. I mean, I'm glad Apollo gets a chance to hold another title and E can look towards the top of the card but I don't think this was really the way to do it. It didn't need to be a 'Nigerian Drum Fight', could've just been a No DQ, Dabba Kato gets his third repackaging since Greatest Royal Rumble probably as Apollo's 'General' which is kinda no different to what AJ and Omos are doing just with more foreign heel-isms. But yeah, bit disappointing on the means of it but the outcome was right, just...kinda stop faking a thick accent it's getting you nowhere acting like you're on the set of Black Panther.
Again we look back at Night 1, this time with minor clips of Ford congratulating his wife, but should've been a segment on its own rather than a flash-through recap. Stone Cold Mania 38 Texas promo and the HOF promo they did on this Pre-Show happens again which is unnecessary but the hologram of a ghost ship was cool, the HOFers come out and Kane gets the entrance, he does his pyro and that's it - that's how you do it, Hogan.
Raw Women's Championship - Rhea Ripley def. Asuka (c) (Pinfall via Riptide TITLE CHANGE!) THIS IS MY BRUTALITY! performed live as Rhea wastes no time coming out, leather biker outfit this time, no Vegeta costume. Silly camera cuts to Rhea and the Singer AGAIN though, stop it WWE it's distracting. Asuka dances down the ring in a bit of a Jason mask, but the camera keeps cutting to Rhea which is off-putting. Also commentary on 'she has never seen Rhea Ripley up close and personal', they were in a tag match together a week and a half ago and in Survivor Series 2019 she faced her in Team NXT as part of Team RAW, seriously WWE...
Asuka starts hot with her athleticism, dropkicks, rebounds and rollups met with more shoddy camera cuts, Rhea leaves the ring to take a moment as Asuka taunts her, she baits Asuka out of the ring as she rolls in but her leg is caught, pop-up knee strike returns Rhea to the ring but she misses the hip attack, gifting Rhea the slamming facebuster for 2. Rhea wears the champion down and taunts her with leg scissors and hits a couple of clotheslines, Asuka reverses the third into an ankle lock but Rhea rolls into a Release German Suplex. Rhea grinds away at Asuka's back and sets up for a super German but Asuka elbows her away and lands the Missile Dropkick, Release German, Hip Attack, a strike combo, another Hip Attack but it only gets 2. Asuka goes up top but is dropkicked to the outside, Asuka tries a PK on the apron but is caught into an Electric Chair position and dropped chin-first onto the apron. Trying to roll Asuka back into the ring, the champion returns to hit a DDT from the apron to the outside, after breaking the count Asuka only gets 2, stomps at Rhea but her running knee gets caught, Rhea stomps at Asuka and sets up the Texas Cloverleaf, Asuka rolls out and into the Armbar but Rhea swings Asuka into the bottom turnbuckle. Deadlift suplex back into the ring for 2, Asuka reverses a waistlock into two armbar variations and then an Asuka Lock, Rhea rolls back for 2 and the hold to break but gets gutted with kicks to the chest, Rhea demands more so Asuka runs to the ropes, Rhea catches her, Riptide, 3!
That finish came out of nowhere, which was not a good thing. We were having quite an enjoyable match which ended around the 15 minute mark, it wasn't short but the narrative wasn't quite there yet. I'm happy for Rhea, who I predicted to win but like Sasha/Bianca it came with the heavy heart. Like Sasha, Asuka has often been slighted especially at Wrestlemania, she deserves her moment too, especially Asuka who carried the Women for most of the Empty Arena era.
WWE recapped the opener which was a bad idea, Hogan and Titus thanked all the viewers at home and the fans but were interrupted by Bayley who demanded and got her pyro, then out came the Bella Twins. Bayley got a good zing by calling them Elmo but then Nikki slapped the mic away from her when she says 'John Cena isn't here tonight', Bellas said 'Ding Dong, Goodbye' and beat down Bayley. This was shite really, Bayley had been buried across 2 nights and her 'comeuppance' is the Bella Twins, not the woman beginning with B I was hoping for, and the John Cena comment was heavily forced, fans know they broke up ages ago Nikki has a kid with her husband who is not John Cena, fans aren't stupid WWE.
WWE then promoted 'Wrestlemania Backlash' for May 16th, a whole month away. They say it'll be a whole new season for WWE so I'm wondering if it's just a storyline reset...y'know how Wrestlemania is supposed to be, slapping Wrestlemania on other show names doesn't make it Wrestlemania-tier guys.
Universal Championship - Roman Reigns (c) [w/Paul Heyman & Jey Uso] def. Daniel Bryan and Edge (Pinfall on Edge and Bryan via Con-Chair-To) To the Main Event, one of the few storylines in Mania's card that was consistently good in build. Bryan comes out first, camera angles flashing during the YES! chants. Huge pops and smoke rage for Metalingus and Edge enters in white and Red (bookending with Orton), fireworks camera shots though. For once, Roman Reigns enters the Main Event without a chorus of deafening boos, but he takes his time to come out, in his red wreath flanked by Jey Uso and Heyman, cameras cutting to each opponent's faces a bit too much, especially to Bryan. Bad call not to bring in Justin Roberts to announce Edge either. Roman makes sure to hoist the belt while facing both his opponents before the bell.
Reigns starts by suckering Bryan and then going after Edge. He throws Bryan out of the ring where Jey superkicks him and sends him into the steps thanks to Triple Threat rules. Edge eats a superkick from Uso too when he's thrown out as Roman cleans up the announcer's table, as Edge is grabbed by Uso, Reigns is hit by Bryan's suicide dive but eats an Uso superkick, this gives Edge time to throw Uso into the steps, pinballing Reigns against the barricade and apron until bouncing off of the ring post. Edge then sets his sights on Uso, hitting a DDT on the steps to take him out of the equation, medical team swarm Uso as Heyman halfheartedly looks concerned. Edge chases Heyman away and enters the ring with Bryan - a moment which would've been sold better if the camera didn't cut to a close up of Roman alive and well on the outside. Bryan gets the Yes Kicks in the corner but his Super Rana is reversed into a sunset flip, Edge-o-matic but it's only 2. Roman comes back on the apron both men attempting to suplex the other, Bryan slides under Roman and cuts Roman's legs from under him - jawbreaking Edge on the ropes - he hits the Missile Dropkick on Edge, kips up and hits the uppercut, after dodging the lariat he tries to suicide dive Roman but he's caught by the champion and hit with a belly to belly suplex. Edge brings Roman to the ring but gets hit with a clothesline, Roman sets up the Superman Punch but Edge turns it into an Edgecution. He sets up the Spear but Roman knocks him down, Roman sets the Spear but it is reversed in a Sunset Flip, both men collide with spears to take each other out. During a wide shot Bryan goes up top, he lands a diving headbutt on Edge, then on Roman, he pins Roman but only gets 2. Yes Kicks to both men, Roman dodges one and pushes him towards Edge, but Bryan ducks the Lariat and hits the Buisaku Knee, Roman tries the Superman Punch but is kicked in the gut, Buzzsaw Kick! 1, 2, No! Bryan stomps on Roman's head and sets up the Yes Lock, but Edge breaks the hold, so Bryan puts Edge in the Yes Lock and Roman breaks the hold, clubbing at Bryan and powerbombing him onto Edge. After dumping Bryan, Roman pauses before setting up half the steps near the Announcer's Table, he's incited by the 'Roman Sucks' chant and powerbombs Bryan through the Announcer's table, but is then blindsided with a Spear! Edge goes to bring in a chair but Roman keeps his foot on it, he pulls the chair away and tries the Guillotine but Edge locks in the Crossface, as Roman powers out Edge grabs a part of the chair leg that fell off and uses that in his Crossface - a humorous face from Reigns as I pause the vid as well XD - he's about to tap but Bryan grabs the hand, and locks in the Yes Lock! Annoyed that his win is stolen, Edge demands he break the hold, but Bryan refuses, leading to a headbutt fight and Bryan pounding at Edge. Bryan then stomps at Edge's head and looks for the Buisaku Knee, but gets hit by a Spear! Roman tries a Spear but Edge hits one of his own! 1, 2, Bryan pulls the ref out of the ring. Furious, Edge introduces more chairs, hitting Bryan and Edge one after the other. He sets up Con-Chair-To to both men, hits it on Bryan but Jey Uso returns to attack, eats a Spear and a load of Chair Shots, Reigns hits the spear on Edge, hits the Con-Chair-To, drags Edge over Bryan and pins both for the win.
The show closes with pyro and Fireworks as Roman talks trash on his opponents and holds the title aloft, ending Wrestlemania 37.
It was a very good back and forth match, Roman of course relying heavily on Jey's interferences and the animosity between Edge and Bryan to come out on top. Keeping the Spear and the Con-Chair-To for last was the right move and the latter was definitely impactful enough to ensure that Bryan could sleep for a few minutes, especially with his and Edge's history of neck injuries. I bet on Roman because of his past record, how after finally turning heel he gets the right heat and because in Triple Threats involving a Heel Champion and 2 Faces, you either bet on the third man or the heel champion, since the story was that Roman could lose without being pinned I chose the latter, the heel often finds the escape. All three men had great chemistry together and I hope for more, SD's world title scene having an absolute slew of competitors waiting to challenge the head of the table.
Conclusion Overall another good night of wrestling...just not better. There were some super baffling and poor moments in the first half of the show and 3 title changes in a row (as well as 2 live performances in a row) was probably not the best card layout Night 2 could've done. Overall it was still a good show though and as a whole Wrestlemania 37 was a success, if not without its glaring flaws. But it goes to show that a 2-Day Wrestlemania continues to flourish as a new season of WWE kicks off.

Year of Metro New York Sports Events Brings 9,450+ Pro Wins
[caption id="attachment_3201" align="alignnone" width="2560"]
Tumblr media
This view was captured during a New York Sports Tours private outing at Citi Field in Queens on July 26, 2019, at a Major League Baseball game won by the New York Mets versus the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates[/caption]
Victories Abound in 18 Professional Sports on Most Recent Greater New York Calendar
More than 9,450 professional wins were achieved during the 2019 Greater New York sports event schedule, another indication of the region's unparalleled sports influence.
Representative of the number of times pro teams or individual competitors recorded wins last year, the number was calculated after a New York Sports Tours guest wondered aloud how many actual winners there are each year on the metropolitan New York sports calendar.
New York Sports Tours encourages those aboard its New York sports history tour experience to pose known or discoverable truths related to New York sports. The luxury outing shows guests how sports in Greater New York has helped shape culture and society in the region and beyond.
More than simply a count of 2019 pro sports events in the area, the win tally covers multiple wins in many single events. For example, the five-borough TCS New York City Marathon last year listed separate champions in 34 divisions. One of the winners, Joyciline Jeyciline, is shown in the below New York Sports Tours footage (in red shoes) entering the Bronx en route her professional women's victory.
  https://vimeo.com/411004069/be9ea6f1b7
Sports wins have long been celebrated in New York, perhaps most memorably by Major League Baseball's New York Yankees.
In 1998, the year the Yankees won the 24th of their record 27 World Series championships, club owner George Steinbrenner proclaimed, "Winning is the most important thing in my life, after breathing."
At a public New York Sports Tours event, longtime Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said his favorite moments with the team have to do with wins, a sentiment captured in the below news clip from the event.
  https://vimeo.com/410728638/ce430f20bd
In tallying wins, New York Sports Tours studied 18 professional spectator sports and included victories by home and visiting teams and athletes. Greater New York sports events were deemed professional if they had prize money or paid competitors.
The sports range from traditional spectator draws such as horse racing and baseball to a sport with two pro New York teams but only two generations of history.
Ultimate, often referred to as ultimate frisbee, has been part of the Greater New York sports scene since it was introduced in 1968 at Columbia High School in northern New Jersey, at the first sanctioned ultimate competition. The following decade, outlets such as in the below Pepsi commercial, which was filmed on New York City's Fordham University campus, raised national public awareness of the sport.
  https://vimeo.com/411082969/7f71256f52
A  total of 9,497 wins, the vast majority of the 2019 pro victories in the New York City metropolitan area, are posted below. Ties are not included. Each team victory is counted as one win, not one win for each member of the team.
  Auto Racing — 2 Races
New York City E-Prix (2) | The two-day New York City E-Prix in Brooklyn in July 2019 featured the final two races of the Formula-E all-electric racing season. Switzerland's Sebastien Buemi won the opening race and Dutchman Robin Frijns the second.

  Baseball — 395 Wins
New York Mets (81) | Each Major League Baseball team is scheduled to play half of its 162 regular season games at home, and the Mets hit each of those marks in 2019. Since 2009, the Mets have played its home games at Citi Field in Queens.
New York Yankees (86) | In 2019, the Yankees played five post-season games at at their home Yankee Stadium in the Bronx

2K Games is getting ready to release the latest entry in the WWE 2K series with WWE 2K20. This seems to be a rather ambitious project which will bring a lot of new features for gamers to enjoy.
MyPlayer & MyCareer
For the first time ever in the franchise, gamers will be able to create and play with a male and female MyPlayer in MyCareer mode.
youtube
Of course, if we’re bringing female characters for MyPlayer, it only means we should be able to have a Mixed Tag. This is coming, too. You’ll be able to play as both superstars, and you’ll team up together in different mixed tag team matches throughout your career.
Expect to go through 18 different chapters in your career, including aroun 100 different matches and interacting with over 40 WWE Superstars from every brand, as well as legends during this game mode.
At A Glance
[su_spoiler title=”MyCareer at a glance” style=”fancy”]
For the first time ever, create both a female and male MyPLAYER and take them through MyCAREER, playing storylines and matches as each character and occasionally teaming together with the all-new Mixed Tag match feature.
Unlock WWE Legends, Career specific Superstar attires, original characters and unique environments like “Hell’s Colosseum” and a special New Day themed arena.
At one point, Red and Tre cross through an interdimensional portal to try to find the Undertaker who hasn’t been seen in years, encountering various surprises along the way.
MyCAREER is fully voiced again, this year featuring performances from nearly over 40 WWE Superstars, NXT Superstars and legends in addition to over 15 original voiced roles. Interact with newly-voiced Superstars such as Ronda Rousey, The New Day, Becky Lynch, Adam Cole, Velveteen Dream, The IIconics, Samoa Joe and more.
Track Red and Tre’s career progress with “The List” – as teenagers Red and Tre write down all the goals they’d like to someday achieve, which later becomes their road map to success. Can you cross off their final list item and get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame?
At certain points in MyCAREER, the decisions you make affect the matches Red and Tre compete in, who they team with, and possibly even lead to some alternate outcomes. Explore different choices to see what paths they might lead you down.
Podcasts are back this year, including “The Buzz and Cole Show” featuring the return of Buzz and Cole Quinn from WWE2K19’s MyCAREER.
[/su_spoiler]

Soundtrack
If there’s one piece of the game that becomes key for WWE 2K20 is its soundtrack. We are normally able to just leave the game running on the homepage and listen to all the cool music. This won’t be any different as we’ll have some nice music besides the obvious superstars’ entrance music.
WWE 2K20 will include the following 12 tracks:
Banks – “Gimme”
Barns Courtney – “99”
Bring Me The Horizon ft. Dani Filth – “Wonderful Life”

What about My Universe?
I don’t know about all of you, but when it comes to WWE 2K games, I focus quite strongly on the Universe mode right after I’m done with MyCareer. This all means that we need a well debugged version of this game mode. Here’s everything you’ll get in this mode.

Main Event matches in Match Tables have been tweaked so that those match types are more likely to occur on the show (Example: Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View).
New rivalry content includes options such as low-intensity enemies making peace after a single Pay-Per-View or low to mid-intensity allies slowly falling out over several weeks instead of a sudden turn.
The overall menu flow has been streamlined to make it more accessible to those new to Universe Mode. All deeper options are still available for experienced players.

for @poisonouswritings : sage, dialogue 9, scenario 20, gn!reader "you know you have to let go of me eventually.", haunted house meet cute(?) where person a accidentally clings to person b instead of the friend they came with
OH EM GEE!! thank u for requesting this scenario i wanted to try it at least once orz
rule 1 for visiting haunted houses: don't lose your friend.
the wood creaks beneath your feet and you hold out your arms to avoid bumping into anything. you can’t tell where your group has gone at this point. you had gotten turned around, the maze of walls and props in the dark got you separated, and now all you can do is trudge forward alone. you’re still waving your arms around when your hand finally reaches something—someone—and you hold them, thinking it was the jacket of your friend.
“god, there you are. seriously, why the fuck did you bring me here?” you whisper angrily. but the voice that responds wasn’t the one you expected, and your next words die at the tip of your tongue when the figure speaks.
“while i’d love to say i was the guy who brought you here, i think you’re talking to the wrong person.”
“fuck—” you jump back, pulling your hands to your chest. you still can’t really see who spoke, only noticing his long hair. “who—”
a crash comes from somewhere in the house and you let out a yelp, accidentally bumping into the stranger again. “here,” he coaxes, slowly reaches for your arm. you pull back a little and he stops. “hey, while this isn’t exactly a regular meeting, i’d rather you hang onto me than have guilt on my conscience for leaving you to fend for yourself. and if we find your friend i'll, uh, pass you over. we should be near the end anyways."
it’s a weird offer. you didn’t know who he was and the entire thing seemed like it was asking for awkward apologies and hesitant moves—especially when you can barely fucking see who’s offering to walk with you. yet you weigh the benefits and cost, knowing walking alone would be awful in another way, and decide to move closer in the end. you clear your throat before speaking, "thanks." if the stranger smiled or did anything, you couldn’t tell. he doesn’t come toward you, allowing you to choose how close to move.
you shuffle close enough to gingerly hold onto his sleeve and he lets you before beginning to walk again. and know you’re only together for a few minutes at most having gone through the majority of the house already. but the weird tension of wanting to cling onto him at every thud and flickering light while knowing he was a stranger made everything feel longer than it was. it doesn’t seem like the guy minded, though, or at least was better at hiding it.
he suddenly pulls you closer into him. “watch out, you could have tripped.” looking down, you spot the props on the floor and mumble a thank you before continuing on. "how the hell did you see that?"
"i used my eyes?"
"thanks." he breathes out a laugh at your response. you stay close enough that you could easily wrap your arms around him if you wanted, and you’re vaguely aware of his arm positioned in front of you in a protective manner.
your proximity only grows as you walk, getting used to his presence. your eyes flicker toward the walls of decorations as you take another turn. “hey, look. see? we made it.” you feel a few taps against your arm and look up. there’s a light up ahead that makes you let out a breath. “thank god.”
but you make the same mistake you did at your meeting—thinking you’d be safe.
you start to pull your companion with you, steps speeding up as you get closer to freedom. by the time you realize what’s happening, it’s already too late as a worker jumps out from behind a wall beside you. you manage to catch a glimpse of their tattered, bloody, outfit before letting out a scream, moving to grab and hide behind the nearest thing. it’s when the thing pulls you along, away from the actor, and speaks that you realize your second mistake.
“did you just try to use me as a shield?”
“i…sorry, i—” you move away a little and stutter as he starts to laugh. “that was seriously a reflex. stop laughing, oh my god, i’m gonna kill you,” you threaten him, though the whine and choked laugh render it empty.
“no, it’s—it’s fine,” he continues to laugh. “i’m the one who told you to hang on. and a knight in shining armour can also be a great wall, i guess.”
“shut the fuck up,” you snort. he’s still grinning as he offers a half-hearted apology, choosing to keep walking towards the doorway with you groaning against his sleeve. once you step outside, you squint at the sudden light and blink. the both of you pause as the sound of crowds become louder—you’re free.
“and, y’know, while i don’t dislike your company,” the newly familiar voice interrupts, “you know you have to let go of me eventually.”
“what?” you look beside you, then down and realize you’re still clutching onto your new ‘friend’ and jump back—just like the first time. “god, sorry.”
“thanks for, uh, letting me hold onto you…” you trail off.you never asked for his name. but he smiles a little, as if he had read your thoughts. “sage. and it’s no problem.”
he has a nice smile. and now that you can finally really see him, you realize how attractive your acquaintance is and feel your face warm. but you clear your throat and do your best to keep eye contact. “is there anything i can do to repay you?”
sage takes a deep breath and hums. he scans the attractions around you before speaking. “it isn’t really as physically affectionate as a haunted house—" you groan at his joke and he turns to you with a grin. “and i know we should probably find your friend, but did you want to maybe grab dinner at some point?”

for @evanox : sage, dialogues 3 and 8, gn!reader
"may i have this dance?" "hey, can you look at me?"
EEK thank u saur much for the req 🙁☝️ everyone reading this rn go read her stuff NOW! and sage wherever u are,,.,., i hope u are Ok
“may i have this dance?”
sage stretches out his hand, a teasing smile on his face as he’s bowed dramatically in front of you. he wasn’t the only one in the hall asking his partner to dance—your eyes scan the party to see a dozen other couples walking towards the floor.
you blink up at him. "me?"
sage raises a brow at your response. "who else would i ask to be my partner other than my partner?"
you've found yourself swayed by your boyfriend more times than you could count during your relationship. but there's something about the proximity that comes with dancing that makes your face warm and heart rate quicken. you think about how awkward it could be, what could go wrong, when sage calls you again. “babe?”
when you look up at him, his head is tilted as he waits for your response. before you can think, you’re already opening your mouth to speak. “what if i trip and fall and embarrass myself?
and you think he'll laugh. it was a silly catastrophizing idea and sage would laugh a little at you. but all he does is smile again, hand still open for you to hold. “okay, well, then i’ll fall with you. i’ll make it real dramatic so everyone thinks it was all me.” and you know he isn’t lying when he reassures you, which, maybe, is concerning in a different way. but it’s enough to put your palm over his, and let him pull you near the edge of the dance floor.
you fiddle with the hem of your outfit the entire walk when sage turns to look at you. “you ready?” he positions his hands, letting you do the same. your face somehow feels even warmer, but you nod in time for the song’s lyrics to start. sage starts to sway, taking small steps so you don’t move too close to the middle or any other couple. but you’re still tense as you bite your lip and fail to make eye contact, choosing to watch everyone but the man in front of you.
“hey,” he calls softly. “can you look at me?”
sage’s usual teasing smirk is nowhere to be seen, a comforting smile taking its place. his voice is almost as soft when he speaks. “hi.”
“hey.” you manage to smile at your boyfriend before your eyes start to flicker away again.
“uh uh uh,” he tuts, tapping a finger against your cheek to get your attention. “don’t focus on them—focus on me. it’s just you and me.”
your grip tightens slightly as you let out a breath. sage continues to watch you. “have i told you you look especially good tonight?” he asks. you take a second to process his question and send him a look. “no, seriously. don’t look at me like that—you look great. are you single by chance?”
you snort at him and he grins. “no, sorry to disappoint but i have a boyfriend.”
“well, of course you do. why wouldn’t you?” sage sighs, though his amusement never falters. he plants a kiss on your forehead and you could almost forget you’re dancing. even here, he’s still sage. he spins you and blows a low whistle. "amazing technique," he says. he hums to the tune of the song playing, singing a few of the lines to you while laughing in between. he redirects you when people dance past as easily as if it were breathing. and maybe it wasn’t because he was a dancer per se—still clumsy with a few steps and looking at what others do—but because he was with you, and that was enough.
and despite the rough start, you’re laughing as the song ends when sage whispers something about trying to break dance “to really give them a show” because “how hard could it be?” he’s holding you up slightly as he laughs himself, letting you go only when you finally catch your breath. you’re vaguely aware of the attention on the both of you start to walk back to your table, but at this point, you couldn’t find yourself to care. and even though he wouldn't voice his thoughts, sage couldn't either. not when his focus was on you.
he breaks you out of your thoughts only moments later when his arm finds its spot around your waist and he speaks up. “see? we didn’t fall and break an ankle. i think we could go on one of those dance competition shows. the hell is it called—so you think you can dance?”
"oh yeah? you think we could win?"
"don't you remember that one twirl we did? personally i think with some practice we could become pros."
you hum in response, not fully entertaining the idea while you realize the song ended faster than anticipated with him. you're not really sure how he manages to make things pass faster, easier, but he always did. you smile softly at the thought before pulling him in to kiss his cheek. “thank you, sage.”
he freezes and blinks in surprise, stopping behind your chairs. to be honest, if you had said no sage would have sat down beside you and teased everyone who went up. but you said yes, so he grins at you for the umteenth time that night instead. “anytime.”

for @mouselungs — felix, dialogue 20, scenario 22, gn!reader "what's wrong?" "nothing." "do i make you nervous?" , person a initiates pda, which they almost never do)
HELLAURR LUNGS X2!! ur other req 4 u…Muah. and felix my babygirl i am so sorry i rewrote this 3 times. u might be wondering nia why don’t u just redownload the app and replay their stories to figure out the characterization again. Um. that is the normal brain thing to do for sure. mine is not normal though and refuses to do so so we’re going to pretend i’m fine and felix is fine and everything is fine and
you wonder if most people have to build up the courage to hold their boyfriend’s hand for a solid 30 minutes. he hasn’t said anything about it, but felix has noticed the way your eyes flicker over to his hand, and the way your own fingers twitch before moving back.
he’s never pressured you to try initiating more. he knows you’re going at your own pace and is happy to reach for you first, kiss you first, until you're ready. but he’s also been stopping himself from holding your hand since he first noticed and honestly he wonders if he should just—
“love?”
your eyes shoot up from staring at his fingers tapping against his thigh (again) as he leans against the wall. “yeah?”
there’s something different about the way he’s looking at you—it’s the look he has when he’s scheming something. but your suspicion falls when all he does is slowly reach for your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours. your heartbeat quickens at the thought of being caught, and you try to decipher what felix is attempting to do when he shoots a smile your way.
“what’s wrong?” he asks, his thumb rubbing circles against yours.
“nothing.”
still holding your hand, he moves to stand in front of you. he watches as you tilt your head to look at him, voice lowered still with a teasing smile on his face, “do i make you nervous?”
“what? no! of course not,” you reply. “i just—ugh.”
your hand escapes his as you groan into it instead. “nevermind, fe. it’s nothing.”
he hums in response and his eyelids droop a little as he watches your reaction. “you can let me know if you want to talk or anything, you know. i like helping you.”
it’s true, of course. felix has never lied about that. but the itch to do something yourself comes back at the thought of it. his voice doesn’t expose any hidden intentions when he asks “did you want to go back, or somewhere else?”
the question barely registers in your head. either way, you’re going somewhere. and either way, you’re going to hold his hand.
you purse your lip and let out a breath before suddenly reaching for his hand and starting to walk. felix lets out a noise as he’s dragged for a couple of steps before processing what’s happening. you don’t turn to look at him when his strides begin to match yours. even without looking, you know he’s watching as your face heats up and to be completely honest, you don’t think you could handle his reaction right now.
your boyfriend knows you well enough that you won’t look at him—which is fine, of course. either way, he’s grinning at the way your fingers are laced together as he speaks again. “well, alright then. where to next?”

for @sunaslay — oikawa: dialogue 16, scenario 2, gn!reader "it's 2am, what are you doing here?" "i missed you." , seeing each other after a long time apart
for my 2k follower event >:o
the sound of the doorbell simultaneously feels quiet and too loud when you wake up. you reach blindly for your phone, squinting at the screen and frowning at the time—1:58 a.m. but a notification appears almost immediately and your eyes widen, heart beginning to race.
tooru <3: can u PLEase open the door already? >:((
if it weren’t for the doorbell ringing again, you might have thought you were dreaming. but you shoot up and stumble over the blanket that gets caught on your foot, clumsily turning on the hallway light as you jog down the stairs. your heart is still pounding and with what little coordination you have at this point, your fingers manage to unlock the door for your eyes land on someone you least expected to see.
“...tooru?”
oikawa tooru. professional volleyball player. your boyfriend—the one who wasn’t supposed to be back until later today so that you could meet him at the airport. you think yourself lucky that your voice doesn’t get stuck in your throat when he looks at you. “it’s 2am, what are you doing here?”
“i missed you.” his voice is quiet and sincere, starkly different from the oikawa you had been watching win on screen just a while ago. he takes a step forward, quickly wrapping himself around you. his hold is tighter than usual as he nuzzles his face into your neck. but there’s still a sense of normalcy to his action, as if he had just come home after a long day of practice.
“that’s—” you can’t help but laugh, even as your grip on his shirt fabric tightens. “i meant how you’re here. you weren’t supposed to be back yet.”
it takes a few seconds for him to reply as he chooses kissing your face and down to your jaw is more important. “i took an earlier flight to surprise you,” he explains against your skin. “can i come inside? it’s chilly.”
you roll your eyes but nod, letting him gently push you back through the door before closing it behind him and his suitcase he almost forgets to bring. tooru lets go of your waist, choosing to hold your hand instead as his eyes glance around the living room.
“always watching me on the big screen, i hope.”
“of course. seeing you in 4k is like i’m really there,” you joke. tooru laughs—it’s the first time you’ve heard him laugh in person in much too long, you think. but it only takes a second for him to yawn after, a small “sorry” escaping him. you frown and reach to cup his cheek. your voice has quieted when you speak. “you’re tired.”
tooru offers you a tired smile before leaning into your hold, placing his own hand over yours. he turns his face just enough to kiss your palm, his voice lightly muffled when he answers. “can we go to sleep?”
you nod and reach for his hand. “let’s get you to bed.”
leaving his things at the bottom of the stairs, tooru pads quietly behind you to your shared bedroom. he lets out an mph as he faceplants onto the bed, groaning before turning his head to watch you walk toward him. the both of you are silent as you easily slide in beside him, picking up the blanket that had fallen onto the floor from a few minutes ago. your boyfriend doesn’t seem bothered enough to question it, only pulling you into him as you bring the blanket over the both of you.
“‘m sorry i’m too tired to talk,” he whispers.
you can hear the genuine disappointment in his voice and frown. “tooru, you just got back, baby. i didn’t expect you to be a conversationalist. we can catch up in the morning.” he hums in response, too tired to argue or even nod.
“okay. goodnight, sweetheart,” tooru mumbles against the top of your head. he kisses you once more, even as drowsiness taking over him. “i love you. see you in the morning.”
and he speaks with a smile, knowing that seeing you in the morning meant he was finally home.

for @phosphi — rime, dialogue 7, scenario 10, gn!reader "did you just say you love me?", person a confesses their feelings not knowing that person b is awake
note from nia: rime content rime content!! this was a good one. THIS WAS A GOOD ONE. my execution aside the idea was Muah. implied that rime was in a relationship a long time ago—felix or not it’s up to u. also hello hello hello!!!! u r Awesome and it's good 2 see u omg MUAH!
rime can’t sleep. not when he can count the cars passing the apartment, when he can hear the leaves rustling outside, when you’re lying beside him in bed.
“thank god you’re asleep,” he mutters. “you’re a pain in my ass, you know?”
evidently, he didn’t know you were facing the same problem, just as awake as him. his comment is almost enough to make you retort, but you hear him sigh and wait instead. his voice is quiet enough that were you actually asleep, he wouldn't have woken you up. “i’m not supposed to get…why do you keep getting me soft again? do you know how long it’s been for me?”
“do you know what you did when you told me you did all the chores and got my favourite for dinner? i—” he breaths out an incredulous laugh, turning onto his back to stare at the ceiling. his eyes flicker from the fan to every speck he could see with the limited moonlight. “my heart can’t handle this. which sounds fucking stupid, but i think if you do anything else i’m going to have to kick you out before i die in my own apartment.”
“and…” rime trails off, collecting his thoughts to make a coherent sentence, though he didn’t think his current audience would care very much. “and when you showed me that quote that said…‘when i watch you sleep, i feel overwhelmed that you exist,’ i thought it didn’t make sense. was just another unrealistic love quote that got you all whiny.”
he turns over to face you again, and you can almost feel his gaze tracing your features. there’s a slight strain in his voice when he speaks—as if he’s just coming to terms with something he had been pushing away for too long. “yet here i am. overwhelmed by you.”
the sound of traffic outside fills the beats of silence that follow. “but maybe i’m always overwhelmed. have been for god knows how long.” rime’s quiet for a second before he groans and rubs his face with his hands, muttering against his palms, “this is stupid.”
and he’s glad your eyes are closed when he looks at you again. because he’s sure you’d have something to say about the soft expression on his face that he knows he has when he confesses. “goodnight. i love you.”
you had stayed silent the whole time, ready to sleep without replying to give him some peace of mind. it was the least you could do. but it’s an almost immediate reaction when your eyes open and meet his. “...did you just say you love me?”
his eyes widen, and there's a tension in the air before he answers. “were you awake this whole time?” rime searches your face and feels his own lose its colour as he watches your smile grow. “god—”
“you love me, you wanna be with me forever—” he groans at your sing-song voice, and grabs the pillow next to him. and maybe you’re a fool for thinking he was going to cover his face instead of preparing to block the hit against you. “hey!”
you laugh when he pulls his arm back, dramatically staring with your mouth open, hand over your chest. “how dare you.”
his lip twitches—just a little—before he frowns at you. “don’t even try. go to sleep or i’m taking you to the couch.” there’s no room for protest when he flips his back toward you and pulls the blanket back over him. it's quiet again—there's a comfort to it, even with the lingering confession and unhad conversation.
you stare at the way his back moves with every breath and smile. rime feels you shuffling nearer and tenses. you slowly wrap your arms around his torso from behind. he doesn’t stop you, nor say anything, but you do.
you wonder if your words will be a reassurance or what gets you kicked out in the morning. but you whisper them anyway. “i love you, too, rime.”
and when you let go, a quiet “goodnight” before going back to your side of the bed, rime thinks maybe, just maybe, he has a heart big enough to try again. maybe if it’s with you.

cove wonders if you can hear his heart beating, if you can see the sweat on his face, if you’ve noticed the way he’s been fiddling with his fingers, hands sitting on his lap as you do his makeup. you had asked to do it, tired of the show rerun playing, with a promise that you’d wipe it off before anyone could come home and tease him. and cove could never really say no to you, could he?
“cove?”
he startles at your voice, not realizing you’ve been looking at him for the past 5 seconds. “yeah?”
“did you hear what i said?”
“um...no?”
your sit back and your lip twitches a little, stopping a smile as you explain, “i said i’m gonna need you to close your eyes in a bit. we’re at the dreaded eyeliner.”
“oh.” he blinks but manages a nod and small “okay.” it’s not like he didn’t trust you to do his eyeliner—cove trusted you with everything, he always did. it’s the fact that you’d have to get even closer to him, and if you couldn’t already see his nerves from where you stood, you definitely would now.
you move to stand in front of him, making eye contact the whole time. “i have to get pretty close to make sure this doesn’t go…wrong. is that alright?”
and for someone who’s dating you and has gotten plenty close before, cove thinks his heart beat becomes embarrassingly fast at the genuine concern in your eyes. but his own soften as he takes a breath and nods, “yeah. i’m ready.”
you smile, “promise i’ll do my best not to poke you.”
cove sends his own smile and “thanks,” in return before he holds his breath as you draw nearer. you’re close enough that your legs are against each others, and he’s suddenly very focused on his breaths not being too deep, too fast, too slow, too hot against the skin of your hand. in fact, focusing on it is one of two things keeping him from closing his eyes and turning away too early as you press the pen to the corner of his eye.
the other is the fact that you look nice, he thinks. you always do, but (even with his limited eye movement) cove can’t help but let his gaze linger on every feature of your face, not usually able to see you this close.
“can you look down for me?” your voice is soft but cove still feels it against his cheek. it brings him back to the reality of the situation, and he’s very, very happy to shut his eyes.
“thank you. i’m almost done. i just need to…” your voice trails off as you focus on steadying your line work. you're about to say you're done when you feel warmth under the side of your hand. it’s then that your focus wavers and you finally look at cove—how he’s chewing on his lip and fiddling with the bottom hem of his shirt, face red from your current position. and it's your turn to realize just how close you are right now.
you glance down where you’re positioned in between his legs, one hand cupping his face as the other rests on his cheek. you choke out a noise, unable to form a coherent sentence as cove's eyes shoot open in response and worry. the two of you stare at each other for what seems like minutes before you clear your throat and move back. “um, all done!”
cove blinks once, twice. “you are? really?”
“mhm, was just a simple wing,” you explain quickly. he stares up at you, and with the newfound distance you’re able to breathe and look at your work. you squint, your gaze flickering across his face. a few beats have already passed when cove decides to tease, still with a hint of concern in his voice, "is this a good contemplating look, or a bad one? should i be worried about my face right now?"
a grin flashes across your face as you shake your head, “a good one. you look pretty. and handsome. i should do this for you to wear at school tomorrow."
and cove holden wasn’t really a makeup person—the thought of doing this again easily gets something between a yelp and whine out of him (for a multitude of reasons.) it’s even enough that he doesn’t ask to see himself, only realizing that as you pass him the mirror, asking for his opinion. but even though he can still feel the heat of his flustered state, god did he wonder if he really could get you to practice on him again, just one more time?

“just because you did math doesn’t mean it was right, fe,” you remind him with a laugh. it’s then that you remember the look of concentration on felix's face after your information collecting session. from dm’ing the friend you saw succeed the night before, asking 4 different mothers and 3 workers, and luck with the line, felix was convinced that you’d both be at the top of the ferris wheel as the firework show began.
so it’s at your teasing remark that he gapes at you and makes a noise, but ultimately closes his mouth in favour for a pout. he looks out the window, turning his body to angle away from you.
“felix?” he doesn’t respond, eyes fixated on the crowds walking beneath you.
“felix,” you sing-song, angling your body to try to get in his view. he only continues to turn away, the ferris wheel moving for the next group to get on. “are you upset about the math thing?”
you’re met with silence and even though you know he’s not actually upset, you decide to play along. “okay, i’m sorry i doubted your math skills. what can i do for your forgiveness?”
it’s when he doesn’t respond again—not even with one of his usual quips—that you start to wonder if it actually upset him. but then he turns, just a little, and clears his throat before speaking. “...i might feel better if you kiss me.”
you blink. as you look at him, you note the blush on his cheeks and reddening ears. but for some reason you can’t bring yourself to comment on it and only manage to say one thing—“wow.”
“you asked!”
a laugh escapes you, and though he wouldn’t admit it, you could hear the slight laugh in felix’s own retort. putting your hands up in surrender, you apologize. the ferris wheel is almost at the top, and you can hear a voice doing announcements for the fireworks, though you can’t make out what they’re saying exactly. your focus is on felix as you move closer and gesture for him to do the same, “c’mere then.”
his expression softens a little as he slides next to you. as soon as his face is in reach, one of your hands cups his cheek while the other grabs his hand to hold. you peck him quickly on the lips and pull away to see his reaction. he has that look on his face—the look that he has when sage has done something annoying and he can’t tell if he should complain or accept fate. you laugh softly again, saying a quick “just kidding,” before kissing him again.
at some point one of his hands finds its place on your hip, the other still clasping yours. you practically forget you’re at a carnival when you can smell felix’s new shampoo, hear him sigh contentedly against your lips, and almost taste his usual cherry lipbalm.
you pull away again to look at him, and he has a confused frown. “do you accept my apology now?”
felix blushes and breathes out a laugh before nodding, “i will if you kiss me again?”
and there’s really no reason why you would decline his request, is there? you’re both so focused on each other that neither of you notice you’ve reached the top of the ride, or the voice from before booming, announcing the beginning of the firework show.
the both of you jump apart at the sound of the first one, having forgotten the reason behind your ride in the first place. you can hear the crowd below you cheering and aw’ing as more and more lights shoot up in the sky. you turn towards felix who looks at you with something between a grin and smirk. “i told you i did the math.”

for @kaleshima — semi eita: dialogue 22, scenario 6, gn!reader "you can come closer, you know. i don’t bite.” , person a is doing person b's makeup and wow, we're super close right now
for my 2k follower event! >:o
semi is really pretty. he’d look even prettier with makeup, you point out as you both sat on the couch. he rejected the idea at first—“what? i’m not pretty enough as is?” he teased, as if he didn’t stutter with red ears and an averted gaze. but he’s easy to sway, especially when you know him as well as you do, when you know all it takes is a promise for takeout and apology cuddles afterwards if it goes wrong.
and it goes well—he’s an easy guinea pig, careful not to move (scared to mess you or his face up), and doing as you say. but it’s when you get to the eye shadow and you can feel him slow his breaths against your hand that something in your brain clicks. you’re close. very close. too close.
your hand rests on his jaw, fingers resting on his neck. the other is in place to do the smokey look he chose. your eyes shift to look at semi’s eyes, and you find him already staring at you after the lack of a brush against his eyelid. he smiles before you jump back and step away.
semi immediately shoots you a confused look. “babe? you good?” it takes a second for his eyes to widen. “oh god, is it fucked up? i love you but—”
“no,” you cut him off. “no i just—sorry. didn’t think you’d be looking at me and got up fast, i guess.”
he hums in response, not entirely believing you but brushing it off since it didn’t seem like a big deal. but when you try to move back to finish, you’re very obviously further away than moments prior. even semi, with his lack of experience in makeup, can figure out that doing eye shadow an arm’s length away couldn’t be the most efficient or accurate method. “you can come closer, you know. i don’t bite.”
you bite your lip and shift your weight onto one leg, sending him a lighthearted but nervous look. “i mean, you could.”
semi scoffs and laughs at your sudden change of attitude. “baby, really? you can kiss me whenever but you can’t do my makeup?”
“it’s not the same! i’m not staring right at you inches away.”
“you were doing it like, 15 seconds ago,” he reminds you with an eyebrow raised. but he doesn’t give you time to respond, suddenly standing up with a smile evidently being suppressed. you squint and take a step back, “ei—”
before you know it, his hands are around your wrists and he pulls you into him, walking backwards to the chair so that you’re standing in between his legs when he sits. he lets go, only to wrap his arms around your waist. you feel your face heat up as you flounder for something to say, but semi only smirks up at you. choosing to rescue you from thinking of something to say, or really, more likely tease you more, he moves up enough to plant a kiss on the corner of your mouth before sitting down again. “wanna finish up now?”

for @aqoalawera — felix, dialogue 7, scenario 17, gn!reader
"did you just say you love me?" , person a doesn't recognize person b when they're drunk
THANK U FOR THE REQ 💗💗 i have yet to be drunk . i’m sure it’ll happen eventually if i find a drink i like but. wuau…alcohol am i right. am i right guys.
“y’know, stranger, you remind me of m’boyfriend. he’s better, obviously, but you sorta have his hair.”
felix responds with an amused smirk at your current state—apparently you had gotten drunk enough with the others (who had left to get some food once they confirmed he’d watch you) that you couldn’t recognize your boyfriend was right in front of you. all he does is place his chin in his palm and stare. “oh, really? and is there anything else you’d say about him?”
he hates the way his nerves suddenly kick in after his question. it was a teasing response, but he couldn’t deny the fact that he was ultimately curious how you’d describe him to a stranger.
“hmm,” you furrow your brows and lean against the booth. “he’s really handsome! i like playing with his hair. has a very good smile and laugh. ‘nd he’s witty, and very very nice. and…his interests are sort of…niche,”—felix thinks that’s a generous description—“but i love hearing about them and joining. i don’t think he knows how much i enjoy listening and being with him, really. like…"
you fumble to try to explain your emotions. maybe it was the alcohol in your system, or a general struggle to capture how much your boyfriend meant to you. “like, y’know when someone just gets you? and you don’t feel drained after being with them, and it’s sorta like…maybe we were meant to meet each other. or maybe fate doesn't exist 'nd we fought to be with each other. that–that sounds cheesy as fuck, but it's true.” you laugh and cringe a little at the end, but stand by your words nonetheless.
your stranger smiles and his voice is soft when he replies. "well, from the way you talk about him, i'm sure he feels the same way."
you smile a little in return, an unspoken thank you in the air. “anyways. he’s just...yeah. i love him a lot."
and it's almost immediate how felix freezes at your confession. the smile on his face disappears, a shocked expression taking its place. “wh—”
you suddenly frown and poke his chest with your finger, “don’t tell him i said that, got it? i haven’t said it to his face yet. has t’be special.”
but felix hasn’t processed a single word you just said, the sentence from before still looping in his mind. he doesn’t care about the fact that you can’t even recognize him when he questions you, “did you just say you love me?”
“...what? no, i said i love felix. i don’even know who you are,” your frown grows at the ‘unknown man’ in front of you.
“love…” felix breathes out a laugh, ignoring his increased heart rate and slightly shaking fingers. “let’s just get you home to him then, alright? though i think you should tell him soon.”
as if they were cued, your group comes back. you make eye contact with sage as he waves you over, a grin on his face.—you mirror it as you stand up and wave back. felix lets you pass so he can follow from behind. “and just so you know, in case you remember anything later,” he speaks loud enough for you to hear him. “i love you, too.”

for @janf12120 — rime, dialogue 28, scenario 6, male reader
"sorry, i ramble a lot sometimes." "no i, uh, i don't mind." , person a is doing person b's makeup and wow, we're super close right now
rime babygirl u r about to get characterized in a bit of a funky little way because sometimes i project and also i cannot figure out what u’d ramble about rn ❤
“no, it just doesn’t make sense.”
rime sits in front of the mirror and watches you grab the eyeliner from your things. it's a sort of deep red—you said you wanted to try something new for him. "as long as you don't make me look ugly," he said.
“like, sorry, maybe if you actually told us what the fuck to study i wouldn’t be here right now.”
but the eyeliner is a little uneven. should it be more straight or upturnt? you move away to try comparing both sides before shifting closer again. rime stays still as you work, but continues to speak.
“and i know professors aren’t paid enough, but god was he working for even less than he was paid for. like, what’s the point of letting your classes do shit? what do you gain from that? other than ass reviews on ratemyprof.”
you furrow your brows and wonder if you should try the new lip liner along with it. your eyes focus on rime’s lips as you try to picture it, not totally hearing what he’s saying, nor noticing that he’s stopped as you stare a few inches away from his face. it's only when you feel his breath gently fan against your face that you're brought back from your thoughts, suddenly aware of your position in between his legs.
rime doesn't register your proximity, really. but he notes your frown and focused stare and realizes he's been speaking the whole time. “sorry,” he starts, averting his gaze and coughing. "i ramble a lot sometimes.”
“hm? no i, uh, i don’t mind,” you try to reassure him, thrown off by his apology and how close you were. he throws you a pointed look, obviously disbelieving the tone of your voice. you smile a little and breath out a laugh, “seriously, rime. i like listening to you talk, i just wanted to wait for you to finish so i could do your lips."
"and here i thought you wanted to kiss me," he responds dramatically. you roll your eyes before quickly pecking him on the lips. but when you go to pull away, he brings his hand up to pull you in again. when he finally lets go, your face is warm. "you want me that bad?"
rime responds with silence, his lips curling up in amusement. it almost makes you want to close your eyes because he has that look that always flusters you, no matter how much he does it. it's your turn to clear your throat and look away, focusing on the product in your hand and spinning it. "i don't usually see you get that worked up.”
“yeah, for good reason. i'd rather deal with my problems head on but it's harder when your problem is an ass professor.”
your lip twitches at the frown on his face but decide not to mention it. instead, you lean closer again to do the liner, letting it hover above his lips so he can answer. “want me to fight your prof for you? i could be a good knight in shining armour, don’t you think?”
rime snorts before placing his hands on your hips. it's 'to keep you steady,' you're sure. “i don't really want to see my boyfriend kicked out on my behalf so maybe next time, sweetheart.”
