Night In Heaven

Ahxis: -Ahxis materialized at the rear door of the Gym more weary that he could remember being in a long time. Just scattering himself to get here had over taxed his already depleted reserves and he knew a short rest would be in order before attempting the return trip home. He’d actually almost stayed home, but his curiosity had gotten the better of him; he wanted to look at those notes Ahtlas started the night of the Halloween party. They had not yet been added to the information binder and he needed to write down all they’d learned from their alley meet and greet, as well. Especially that part about Lessers needing to be stabbed back to hell with your eyes shut tight. Ax made his way through the main Gym towards his office. The distance tonight feeling like a major trek, he knew he was dragging-ass. He could hear the sounds of a spinning class in the works and leg press machines being used. There were a few young human males using the free weights, trying to one up the other. Pretty normal routine for an early evening. Just as Ax finally reached the office, he spotted @Seraphine_BDB working out on the heavy bag. Despite his fatigue, he smiled and lifted a hand in greeting. Ax had really enjoyed their conversation a couple weeks ago and he had been hoping she would come in again. Maybe he would be able to speak to her later; flipping on the light he shuffled over and stretched out on the sofa. He’d rest just a few short minutes and then get to work.-

Seraphine: <I was working out with a bag trying to get all my frustrations out about trying to figure out how to contact the Brotherhood in order to find out more information about my mysterious background. Smelling fresh blood, I look up to see Ahxis hobbling in looking pretty beat up. Concerned filled me as I watch him wave and enter the office. I picked up my water bottle and towel to wipe off my sweat, fighting an internal battle with myself … clearly he needed to feed to help him recover. I knew that his brother and him just arrived recently in Caldwell just as I had … they probably hadn’t had a moment to arrange for feedings. Shit, what to do. I shouldn’t offer myself, knowing what my blood would do. It’s the reason why I’ve been running … but he had been so kind to me and I felt safe with him. I needed to trust someone. Taking a refreshing swig of water, I made my decision and walked to the office and knocked on the door jam.> Hey, are you alright?

Ahxis: He jumped at the question, since he hadn’t even heard her approach. Alarm bells rang in his brain. What if it had been a lesser, or something that could hurt his family? Not good, not good, what if … No! He stopped that train in it’s tracks and pulled himself upright with the help of the back of the sofa.- Oh, hey Seraphine. -He waved off her concern- I’m good, just tired. It’s great to see you back here, how’ve you been?

Seraphine: <Raising an eyebrow at his lie. Concern at his jumpiness, I walked through the door and close it behind me. I hesitantly sit on the couch, next to him and eyes his bruised neck.> So you’re telling me those purple and blue handprints on your neck are a new fashion statement? Seriously, what happened to you?

Ahxis: -Embarrassed by his appearance, he grinned.- You should see the other guy. It’s nothing really, my inability to keep my big mouth closed bites me in the ass now and then.

Seraphine: So, just a case of foot-in-the-mouth syndrome then? You look like you need to … um … feed. Is there someone I can call for you?

Ahxis: -He thought about denying her words, but knew it wouldn’t fly considering his obvious condition. Ax shook his head slowly.- No. Before moving here, friends and I had it worked out. I guess I thought I’d have time to pop back there… -He leaned back against the sofa and crossed his arm across his eyes.- I waited too long to demate.

Seraphine: <Fuck. What do I do? Help someone who was slowly becoming a friend who needs to feed and soon or risk having him discover the strange power in my blood and finding that I’m not exactly a normal vampire? I could play it off, he may not even notice. He’s breathing starts to hitch as if he has a difficult time breathing. Damn, it must have been a long time since he’s fed to be this affected. Normally vampire healing is rapid as long as they are fed. I really hope I don’t regret this.> Um … I see … if you want … you could … uh could feed from me.

Ahxis: -Ax’s eyes flash open and meet her lovely ones.- What? -He sat forward and laid a hand on her knee.- That’s amazingly sweet of you, but I wouldn’t ask that of you.

Seraphine: Uh, I don’t think you have much of a choice. You’re shaking and you’re pale as a ghost … when was the last time you fed?

Ahxis: -Thinking back to it, he knew she was right.- About six months ago. -Was his softly spoken answer. Right after the funerals, his mind completed for him, but he didn’t share that information.- I know you’re right, and it would be a precious gift … that I would be glad to extend to you as well. -He looked around at the office.- We can’t do this here, any where we can go?

Seraphine: <There was a sadness in his eyes and he told me when but it quickly vanishes before I could understand it. Then he said, not in the office. Strange, but I didn’t want to pry. But where could we go, he clearly couldn’t demat anywhere. I sighed, not sure if I trusted that much for him to know where I lived. I remember seeing a hotel a few blocks down.> There’s a hotel not far from here.

Ahxis: -He brightened for the first time.- Excellent. -Standing up, he also drew her to her feet. Before leaving the office, Ahxis scooped up the note pages he’d originally come to read. They ended up taking a taxi, even though the hotel for only a few blocks down. Now that he knew a feed was imminent, it was as if his strength faltered even more and walking was out of the question. Ax kept his arm around Seraphine’s shoulders as he signed them in at the front desk and paid for the room. Neither of them spoke during the elevator ride or the walk down the long hallway to the room near the end. Once inside with the door shut and locked, he turned to her, still at a loss for words.-

Seraphine: <Looking around the room, wondering why, not for the last time, I was doing this. I only had one other person feed from me … and what a disaster that was. I’ve been running for a while chasing rumors all over the world trying to find the Brotherhood. Sighing inwardly I realized now that I was still in my gym clothes and sweaty from my work out. Crap.> Hey, uh … I can shower if you need me to, I … uh … been working out so … yea … I could.

Ahxis: -Ax was so starved that he didn’t care at all how she looked or smelled. In fact, the sweet smell coming from her workout clothes was already starting to get his attention.- If that will make you more comfortable. I’ll just wait. -He looked around.- On the bed, I guess. Take your time.

Seraphine: <I tried to gage his need … thinking he’ll be ok for about 10 minutes while I try to take some time to gain some courage to do this. I nervously picked up my gym bag and entered to the bathroom, closed the door and turned on the shower. I started pacing the tiles while the water warmed up. Shit! I’m I really doing this? God, I hoped the last time was a fluke the last thing I need is to have to move if Ahxis decided he wants more than a feeding and tried to market my blood on the black market. I need to find the Brotherhood and my father and get a hold of my powers. I quickly showered and stood with my back towards the mirror where two mirroring scars ran down my shoulder blades at an angle. Drying off, I changed into a clean grey blue tank top and black yoga pants and towel dried my hair. I paused at the door, tried to calm my nerves and took a deep breath and opened the door.>

Ahxis: -He knew she’d be gone only as few minutes, so he sat nervously on the edge of the bed. Was he really going to do this? With a stranger, really. What if she expected more from him after this? He wouldn’t have a problem sharing feedings and even sex if she were willing, but would she be offended when she found out he had nothing more to offer? As he heard the door to the bathroom open, he pushed aside his fretting and flashed a smile.- How would you be most comfortable doing this?

Seraphine: <Tugging on the bottom of my tank in a nervous twitch, I wondered if I should really be honest. I had no idea what I was until after the transition, and as a hybrid … I didn’t need to feed nearly as often. I could go years without needing to feed so I never really needed the exchange. Except that one time. Ugh.> I kinda need to be honest here … I … uh … I’ve only … uh … done this … like … uh … once.

Ahxis: -He blinked in surprise.- You mean you haven’t … -Emotion flooded him and he stood up from the bed and gently pulled her into a hug.- Thank you.

Seraphine: <Accepting his hug, it felt … nice. I felt a small part of my broken heart being mended. It’s been so long since I allowed myself to get close to someone. Not knowing if the person would turn on me if I revealed myself. Not knowing if they would just turn around and take advantage of me.> You’re welcome.

Ahxis: Come on, let’s do this. You seem as nervous as I am. -Ahxis led her back over to the bed and sat her in his lap. Brushing her hair from her shoulders, his eyes fixated on the pulsing vein at her throat.- Where may I…. -He didn’t finish the sentence, instead leaned closer and brushed his nose against her hair.-

Seraphine: <Feeling his warm breath in her neck sent shivers down my spine. Fuck. Wait, what? I totally lost my train of thought for a moment.> Uh … my wrist?

Ahxis: -Without missing a beat, he lifted her arm high and ran the tips of his fingers down her silken arm. When he reached her shoulder he turned her so that she now straddled his waist.- Your wrist … perfect. -Ax placed several slow kisses along her upturned wrist, while he slipped his free arm around behind her, pulling her closer. Without warning or waiting, he sank his fangs deep and began to suck.-

Seraphine: <I gasp suddenly as he maneuvered me over his lap and took my arm so my wrist faced him and I watched silently as he bit into my flesh. The rhythmic pulls were … creating sensations … I didn’t know what to do with. But then I saw his bruising slowly disappear and his skin turn pink again. Shit! It was no fluke. Damn it. Wondering if he noticed the difference in my blood. I tried to keep my panic down so he wouldn’t notice … but considering how close we were … I was hoping he wouldn’t. His body felt warm and healthy again as he continue to drink and I could almost feel his healing. I needed to figure out what to say … and how to get out of this room … all the while contemplating what he was thinking.>

Ahxis: -The taste of her blood wasn’t at all like anything he’d ever experienced. It was both richer and thicker and gave him an almost instant rush of … power. Ax couldn’t describe it, but he felt energized, all aches and pains seemed to vanish as he swallowed. Maybe he’d been more depleted than even he realized. Unable to stop himself, he jerked her closer and wrapped himself down over her arm, as if protecting his prize from another. A low growling began to emit from deep within his chest.-

Seraphine: Ahxis, I think that’s enough. Ahxis, Ahxis. <Trying to get his attention, but he had that dazed look in his eye. Damn it, I had no idea if he was taking too much to understand the consequences of what was happening. It had only been a minute or so … but before my eyes I could see him healing rapidly because of my blood. I pinched his nose to get him to let go. He did after a few seconds. I immediately jumped off of him and sealed my own wound closed. The fight or flight mode in my body had been triggered as I waited to see what he would say or do as I stood away from the bed.>

Ahxis: -He was floating. Completely adrift in an amazing feeling of peace and well being. It wasn’t until he was suddenly starved of air that he realized she was trying to get his attention. Pulling his fangs free with a groan, he was further surprised when she sprang away from him.- Did I hurt you?

Seraphine: <Strange. I wasn’t expecting concern for my well being to come first out his mouth.> Um, no I’m ok … uh … are you?

Ahxis: Holy Scribe, what just happened? -Ax jumped up off the bed feeling better than he could ever remember feeling.- That was amazing! -Rushing over before she could reach the door, he scooped her up and spun her in a circle.- Thank you!

Seraphine: <Surprise was all I could possible feel as he practically demated towards me swung me in the air like a rag doll. Definite power boost. As he put me down. I wondered what he was thinking once again.> So, uh … you’re feeling better then?

Ahxis: I am, but then you knew I would be, didn’t you? -Setting her to her feet, he pulled her tightly into his arms and ran his nose along her neck. Her unique scent filling him.- What ARE you?

Seraphine: <Shit! Shit! Shit! Danger, danger, Will Robinson. Lie, my inner voice was screaming at me.> Uh, that’s … uh … funny. What do … you … uh … mean?

Ahxis: -As Ax felt her push, for some reason he couldn’t have explained, he felt an intense need to hold on tighter. Finally, her almost panic got through to his blood drunk brain and he forced himself to let her go and shut back.- I’m sorry. Not really sure what’s come over me. -He looked around the hotel room and back at her lovely face.- It’s a long time until daylight. We could stay. I’d love the chance to make you feel as good as I do now.

Seraphine: <Ready to fly out the door if he said the wrong thing … wait? What? Shaking my head to clear it … I must have heard wrong. Chance to make me feel … huh? Clearly I have no frame of reference for this scenario. Surely, he’s not asking me … to … uh …> I’m sorry … you want to … uh … what?

Ahxis: -Smiling that she didn’t reject him outright, he stepped back in close, and took her hands, lacing their fingers together. Without a word he covered her mouth with his, letting the intense kiss speak for him.-

Sepraphine: That’s really sweet, totally unnecessary. <Having him feel obligated, wasn’t something I wanted. Besides I wasn’t expecting anything, but helping a friend … and keeping my secret. So far, he didn’t looked concerned as to /why/ he recovered so quickly and felt the way he did. Good. I finally started to relax a little.>

Ahxis: -Moving his lips along her cheek and behind her ear, he let his hands roam down her shapely back.- Would be my honor, stay with me Seraphine. -He looked into her eyes.- Please?

Seraphine: <My eyes unfocused for the moment, as I looked deeply into his, trying to read his intentions. I had absolutely no idea where this was going. Well, shit, I had some idea … just not how far … did I want to do this with him? He was practically a stranger. Sort of. It seemed like my whole life I was running. I was tired. I wanted someone to look after me for once. A few hours. One night. But could I really let my guard down? I really hope I wasn’t making a mistake here. In more than one way.> Um, ok.

Ahxis: -Her hesitant okay was all the encouragement he needed. Pulling his shirt over his head, he dropped it to the floor as he lifted her effortlessly into his arms.- Now I think I’m the one who needs a quick shower. -Walking towards the bathroom with his prize a thought occurred to him.- Just a second. -Setting her to her feet, he quickly grabbed a hanger from the closet and sprinted over to hang it on the outside of the hotel room door. His brother @Ahtlas_BDB would have been proud.-
