Что такое комплексные удобрения? Азотно-фосфорно-калийные удобрения или NPK (азот (N), фосфор (P), калий (К)) - это и есть те смаые комплексные минеральные удобрения, в состав которых входят три компонента, необходимые для питания почвы. Азот стимулирует рост растений, фосфор — цветение, калий — плодоношение.

Азот  -  важный элемент для подкормки растений. Азот является частью живой клетки. Растения потребляют больше азота в нитратной форме. Нехватка азота очень серьезна. Его недостаток говорит о том, что растения не могут перерабатывать солнечный свет в качестве источника жизненной энергии. Подкормка азотом очень эффективна во время вегетативной фазы. Также азот важен для синтеза хлорофилла. Азот способствует активному росту не только зелени, но и цветов и плодов. Также Азот влияет не только на размер выращиваемых фруктов и овощей, но и на качество.
Использование азотных удобрений в сельском хозяйстве поможет снять богатый урожай. По-гречески звучит «phosphoros» Фосфор и переводится как «яркость света. Важный в питании растений макроэлемент, необходимый для плодотворной репродукции. 
В тканях молодых растений во время вегетации можно обнаружить высокий уровень фосфора. По мере роста растений, львиная доля фосфора перемещается в соцветия, а оттуда - в зерна и плоды. Фосфор является источником энергии и нормализует обменные процессы. Клеточное ядро растений содержит фосфор, также  в минеральной форме фосфор участвует в синтезе углеводов.
Рост растений их плодоношение напрямую зависит от содержания в их организмах фосфора. Удобрения, содержащие фосфор, стимулируют рост корневой системы, повышают урожайность, поэтому они особенно необходимы для овощных, плодовых, ягодных и  зерновых культур.
Пользу фосфорных удобрений трудно переоценить. Плюс этих удобрений в том, что переизбыток фосфора для растений не страшен. Содержание большего количества этого элемента в почве не причинит вреда культурам, потому что усваивается он ровно настолько, насколько это необходимо растению для роста и развития.
Калий. Происходит от арабского аль-калии, откуда произошло латинское название «kalium».
Важный компонент, способствующий улучшению обмена белков и углеводов. Калий накапливает сахар, ускоряет фотосинтез, растения адаптируются к экстремальным температурам, а также устойчивы к патогенным организмам. В калии особенно нуждаются цветущие растения. Этот химический элемент влияет на производство качественных соцветий. Дефицит калия может привести к тому, что бутоны вовсе не завязываются или цветки вырастают очень мелкими. Поэтому можно остаться без урожая. Калий особенно необходим для развития и роста подсолнечника, гречихи, свеклы, картофеля. Зато зерновые культуры менее чувствительны к нехватке калия.
Виды комплексных удобрений
Удобрения NPK как правило разделены на несколько категорий.
Первая категория - это обогащенные удобрения. Комплексы, в которых показатель содержания бесполезных солей менее 60%.
Вторя категория. Нейтральные удобрения. Показатель бесполезных солей примерно варьируется от 60 до 70%. 
И третья категория. Так называемые, обедненные удобрения, в которых содержится около 70% и более бесполезных солей.
Растения нуждаются в разном количестве питательных веществ, переизбыток которых может привести к более негативным последствиям, чем их недостаток. При выборе удобрений необходимо учитывать потребности каждого вида культур в подкормке.
NPK удобрения производят двух и трехкомпонентными. По составу  входящих в них химических веществ, можно определить способы применения удобрений.
К трехкомпонентным NPK удобрениям относятся: нитрофоска, аммофоска, азофоска, диаммофоска. Удобрения применяют как в сельском хозяйстве, так и в садово-огородном.
В двухкомпонентных удобрениях содержится простой и двойной суперфосфат, калийная селитра и аммофос. В их состав всегда входит азот. Фосфор и калий может исключаться из компонентов. Суперфосфат насыщен азотом и фосфором, такое  удобрение подходит для тепличных растений и выращиваемых в открытом грунте. Калиева селитра насыщена азотом и калием, подходит в период созревания плодов. Состав аммофоса: азот и фосфор. Такое удобрение можно применять весной и осенью.
Минеральные удобрения NPK производятся методом паровой грануляции. Этот процесс обеспечивает линия производства удобрений, заключается он в гранулировании сухого сырья в присутствии влаги – пара и воды.

Состав линии производства NPK удобрений
Дисковый смеситель, в который помещается сырье, собственно, порошок для приготовления гранул.
Буферный бункер для хранения сырья, необходимый для загрузки, разгрузки и перегрузки сырья. Они подходят для кратковременного и промежуточного хранения сырья, также и для смешивания и дозирования сыпучих продуктов.
Шнековый транспортёр для дозирующей подачи сырья, входящий в состав линии производства удобрений, предназначен для транспортировки сыпучих материалов, с возможностью регулировки производительности частотным преобразователем. Благодаря работе шнекового транспортера, упрощается и ускоряется доставка сырья в зону загрузки. Транспортер, входящий в состав линии производства удобрений, повышаете эффективность производства гранулированных удобрений. Загруженное в бункер сырье посредством транспортера поднимается и перемещается на заданную высоту и расстояние.
Ковшевой подъёмник предназначается для подъема сыпучих материалов. В данном случае сырья для удобрений.
Для сохранения материалов после осушения необходим Переходный бункер.
Конусный принудительный питатель - для равномерного распределения подачи сыпучих материалов, к перерабатывающим машинам (станкам или грохотам).
Главная формовочная машина - это основной агрегат в составе линии производства удобрений. Предназначен для формирования гранул из сырья.
На Измельчителе удобрения дробятся. Слежавшиеся удобрения проходят через измельчитель. В итоге получается необходимый фракционный размер готового продукта, который впоследствии удобно упаковывать и транспортировать.
Барабанная сетка очищает от сточных и поверхностных вод.
Очищенная вода поступает в барабан, проходят сквозь фильтрующую сетку, на которой задерживаются  крупные частицы.  Размер фильтрующих ячеек определяется в соответствии с технологией очистки.
Барабан приводится в движение и включается промывное устройство. Промывочная вода подается через разбрызгиватели под давлением и смывает осадок в приемный бункер.
Для вертикального или наклонного перемещения готовых гранул предназначен Автоматический подъемник.
Вторичная барабанная сетка для готовых гранул окончательно очищает готовый материал.
Резервуар для хранения готовой продукции называется Бункером для готовых гранул. .
Управляется линия производства удобрений электроуправляющим шкафом.
Технологический процесс работы линии производства NPK удобрений
Как говорилось ранее, удобрения NPK производятся методом паровой грануляции. Технологический процесс заключается в том, чтобы поэтапно смешать сухие компоненты: хлористый калий, аммофос, карбамид, диаммофос, сульфат аммония и т.д.
Все агрегаты на линии производства удобрений связаны между собой. Изначально сырье подается ковшовым элеватором. Затем оно засыпается в бункер для хранения сырья. Подающееся сырьё подвергается первичной обработке. Сортированная твердая фракция извлекается из бункера и передается в переходный бункер. Предварительно смешанное сырье готово к грануляции.
После грануляции продукт подают в сушильный барабан. Сухой продукт направляется в измельчитель. Мелкая фракция и измельченный продукт повторно возвращаются в гранулятор.
Линия производства удобрений работает эффективно и надежно. На этапе проектирования учитывается каждая деталь производственного цикла. С первого дня линия производства удобрений начинает работать на полную мощность
