when i was a kid i had this book series called portraits of little women based on the literary classic little women that was basically like a prequel series (?) meant for kids to read and on the back of each book was a little blurb about how the books "captured each girl at age ten" and i took this incredibly literally and thought that at some point in each book the corresponding girl would be kidnapped and when i read through the first one and there was no kidnapping involved i was simultaneously confused and disappointed
