Never thought VA could be mixed with QA. Solution down below. . . . . . . Diophantus' age x can be calculated as x = (x/6) + (x/12) + (x/7) + 5 + (x/2) + 4. . x will come out to be 84 . . #cat2021 #cat2021preparation #varc #verbalability #catexam #quantitativeaptitude #algebra #xatexam #iift #nmatexam #snapexam https://www.instagram.com/p/CKEBiNTDHYS/?igshid=155d6axzdgrg4

How I got a 98 in NMAT
I know right. It seems unbelievable to achieve the moment you open your physics and chemistry notes. I mean, I have really forgotten what I have learned from high school and the gazillion formulas that are very hard to memorize. If you do, well you’re damn lucky (because I had to relearn everything in a span of six months!)
CEM usually conducts the NMAT examinations twice in a year: MARCH AND OCTOBER.
After I passed my board examinations this September, I scrambled for my life, gathered my high school notes and watched some crashcourse videos on youtube. Since my brain was still drained from my boards, I changed my goal for taking the nmat even though I know I was still hungover. I TOOK IT AS A DRY RUN. Well honestly, it was not so bad. I got an 85 by studying in a span of two weeks. I wasn’t really contented with my percentile because I was aiming for a higher one so I could increase my chances of getting into the big leagues. If you plan on taking the NMAT even if you are not prepared: I’d say GO! The experience helps when you take it the second time around. Don’t be ashamed if you have taken the exam twice because it’s really okay. If you feel like you need help, enroll to a review center. It really eases the burden if you have point-on notes.
So let me get straight to the meat. The NMAT examinations consists of two parts: Part 1, consisting of Verbal, Quantitative, Perceptual Acuity and Inductive Reasoning. This is the part where all your sweat will start trickling down your forehead, especially if you hated those pesky shapes and patterns. The Part 2 is going to lift up your spirit! It consists of Biology, Physics, Social Science and Chemistry.
After finishing my exams this october, I waited no more and released the Kraken! (By Kraken I mean the old, dusty high school textbooks.) I enrolled myself in a review center (For me, I enrolled in Cerebro Review Center, Bacolod City). The notes were golden. (I’ll insert a link down below for their facebook page.) But, I didn’t rely very much on my notes since I liked studying and discovering things for myself. If you didn’t keep your highschool textbooks, I have noted quite a few ones when I visited National Bookstore. There’s some good finds there for around 240-400 pesos.
Here’s what I did:
I scavenged my siblings’ highschool chemistry book. I finished the book from cover-to-cover. If there is something you need to understand, download the Khan Academy App in your mobile.
For biology, I downloaded Biology by Campbell (10th edition) I’ll have it attached in a link below.
Physics. HAHA. I discovered this website that contained everything I needed to know --> physicsclassroom.com Everything you need to know is there. Finish all the topics and I can guarantee you can answer everything during the examinations. If I don’t understand something, I watch Crashcourse’s videos at youtube. I don’t recommend Khan Academy for physics (based on my experience) because they explain it a little harder than Crashcourse. For formulas that are hard to memorize, I use my magical flashcards. It helps especially when you are approaching the examination date.
Social Science is just all application. No books needed. hahahaha. What’s important is your understanding on Social science is good. Then I can guarantee you can answer the questions smoothly.
I studied at least 2-3 hours a day because laziness gets the best of me. HAHA. Make your schedule. If you want a really high percentile, work for it and discipline is the key.
MSA books are okay. It’ll come in handy especially when practicing your timing in answering the examinations.
The trick to finishing the NMAT exam is...TO FOLLOW THE ALLOTTED TIME. If you haven’t finished a subset in that recommended time, skip it and proceed to the next. You’ll have enough time to go back on that. Just stick to the allotted time and you’ll finish it.
Pray. That is the most important of it all. All those things that you studied will go down the trash if you don’t offer it to the Big guy above.
Lastly, trust in yourself. Believe that you can do it and you will. :)
Below is the overview of NMAT exam. Finish the subtopics because the examination is a comprehensive exam.

DI: Graphs and Logic
The Data Interpretation section has a lot of questions of the following formats: tables, graphs and logic-based questions. The tables are of a difficult degree but pose questions with leads that are obviously identifiable. The graphs are usually of the following kinds- bar diagram, line diagram, combination, point and radar diagrams. the graphs usually pose questions that are of a comparative nature and calculation-intensive.The line diagrams involve comparisons among percentages and alternative metrics derived. The bar diagrams can be horizontal, vertical or can be stacked. Most of the graph-oriented questions require significant conclusions to be drawn. The graphs also require looking at the shapes and accordingly determining conclusions. Contradicting the usual graphs, pie charts require a significant application of reason and impact mostly being on the basis of percentages. The questions posed in this area usually go on from starting to be easy ones and landing as the toughest one to crack. The combination diagrams are even tougher to crack combining 2 or 3 shapes together and requiring careful insight to draw a well-supported conclusion. The logic based question mostly can be in the form of puzzles or even in any other interpretation and are usually tough to crack. The point and radar graphs are for the cream of the students who attempt the exam and who can outdo the regular examinees. These questions are the main reason for making this section even more time-consuming.
With this summary, the students are expected to play to their strengths in this section by understanding their strengths and weaknesses. All the best for XAT and NMAT.

THE IMPORTANCE OF MOCK TESTS
To gain confidence in attempting all competitive exams, students practice countless of mock exams to be efficient and manage time. However, in the course of doing this, it is also very important to analyze one’s performance to determine if it is proceeding in the right direction. It is not written only to compare scores with others and shove it aside. To analyze a mock, however, one needs to know the important factors that affect the performance in the exam:
•    Selecting the right kind of question:
It is important to select the right kind of question while attempting a mock. A time count of the questions categorized as easy, medium and difficult should be taken to enable quick decisions.
•    Strategizing:
This is a bit of everything as it involves deciding what to attempt when to attempt and the correct positioning of questions at relevant places to be answered.
•    Calm mind:
A calm mind is essential to be maintained throughout so that the mind is free to think and solve the questions as they come.
We can now determine a few points that are relevant while analyzing the performance in the mock paper:
•    The first thing that needs to be looked out for is the time spent per question. Allotting 10 seconds per section is required before skipping a question.
•    The second thing is to check if unnecessary time is spent on any question.
•    Then all the questions that had been attempted wrong need to be checked. A trial must be made to get to the right answer before referring to the answer key.
•    One can go through the questions that were not attempted and try to solve them to compare with the right answer.
•    Also, look through the correct answers and analyze the time spent on them to see if you could have done better maybe or in much lesser time.
•    Recategorize the questions as easy, medium or difficult as per this mock. Do that for every mock and compare the count under each category and the average time spent on each question with that of the previous one. This will also help determine of whatever you solved was the right selection of questions and the ones you would want to leave.
•    Last but not the least, based on the above-mentioned performance in the mock exams, determine your future plan of study and focus areas of improvement to ace the XAT and CAT exam.
