Since it’s basically after midnight here. I just want to wish happy birthday to my biggest inspiration🫶🏽 It seems like yesterday when I was cheering for you at Twente, eight years ago. It seems like yesterday when I heard your name for the first time, and when I found out you were choosing to represent Morocco. I was a young soul myself, a bit angry at the world, very proud of my origins and my moroccan features. I was very angry for the way my people were treated, for the amount of racism I had to deal with. I’m still angry, but representation matters, and you were the first icon of our generation to come through, to shush racists many times, to talk about decisions made by heart. There is not a right way to be moroccan by heart. We all live this diaspora life together and try to comfort each other. I know how many times you expressed this pride over time.
