hey, you're using Desmume to emulate NNKDOTDD, right? if you switch over to MelonDS it has an option to up the resolution so you can decompress the DS-only sprites and cutscenes
i am using desmume! but i like the compression. crunchy. like i'm playing on a real ds and not committing crimes. also i'm too lazy to switch to melon lmao
also desmume also has these options. i know because i tried it and went Ew and switched immediately back
