➫ synopsis ;; there came a pattern of knocks at the window. you lifted your head slightly to squint at the offense. out of curiosity, you were about to shuffle out of bed but your phone started to vibrate and halted you further.

The sun had long began to set and dressed the sky in a soft peachy color that bled through the window of your room. You twirled a pen between your fingers as your eyes glossed over the endless pages of words. They were all jumbling up in your brain and you wanted so badly to quit and nap then and there but you needed to finish. 

Still the internal battle was over once you let your head bang back against your headboard, groaning as you turn over and dose yourself in the fluffiness of your pillows.

Then there came a pattern of knocks at the window. You lifted your head slightly to squint at the offense. Out of curiosity, you were about to shuffle out of bed but your phone started to vibrate and halted you further. You scooped up your phone and your narrowed eyes softened once you saw it was a string of texts from Keigo.

You snorted and began to text back.

It took you a bit longer to respond this time. Thinking about the work you had to finish. Just as you thought about it, another text came.

love giver #-> Please, for me? I won't keep you long I swear on your heart (6:44 PM)

You shut off your phone and finally made it to the window, opening it and popping your head outside to look for Keigo but to no avail.

"Hi, lovebird," the sudden sound of his voice made you jump a tiny bit and you looked up to see him slowly descending from above you. "How long were you planning that?" you questioned. The blond shrugged and planted a kiss on your forehead. "No clue. But didn't think you were actually gonna come out though."

You shrugged the same and he wrinkled his nose at the action. "I wasn't but I did because asked ever so nicely." Keigo chuckled and took your hand up in his. "There's something on the roof waiting for both of us, I think you'll really like it."

"Oh yeah?" he nodded quickly, "would I ever steer you wrong?" Just as you opened your mouth, he shushed you. "Ah- Don't answer that. Come with me." You rolled your eyes as he took you into his arms and flew up a few levels past your apartment.

He gently put you down and your mouth parted in surprise when you found the set up he concocted.

"Ta-da," he guided you closer to the picnic. "I saw you were going through it, so why not have the rest of the evening to ourselves? There's no people, no loud noises, no work. Just you, me, and this cute picnic basket." It was all decorated in different colors and he opened it for you to see. It had all of your favorite food and snacks packed inside, some of which you never would've thought he'd remember. 

"I...Keigo- this is too nice for me. I'm shocked there's no other special occasion." You gawked at the dimly light candles set in far corners surrounding the blanket. He snorted and he held your hands again. "I don't need a reason to spoil my baby, now do I?" You let out a breathless laugh and you couldn't wipe the bright smile off your face.

He squeezed your palms and his eyes met yours in a love-filled gaze. "Soo...do you like it? Is it too minimalistic?" You scoffed, "don't even try me. It's perfect. Especially since it came from you." Keigo gave you an adorable grin. His hand rose to stroke his fingers alongside your cheek, one brushing the plush of your lips. You leaned into his touch before he pulled away.

"Alright! Let's eat before the food gets cold!"

This was the most relaxed you've been in awhile and you can only thank Keigo a hundred times for doing this. The work you had left was gone for the entire evening and you could only focus on the little rooftop date you had. It was all too sweet and you made sure to kiss him a hundred more times for the thought.

But you didn't know that this was one of two surprises. The second one was although much smaller in comparison, it was sure to brighten up your day when revealed.

anyways, my school year is coming to a close in a week and i was feeling kind of down and out about what might happen next so i made this specifically for myself - and any other struggling students or people - as a kind of "you can do it!" thing to take your mind off work for a moment. but i hope whoever sees this enjoyed because technically it's my first fluff with the birdman-

ps. - this is also here to put smth here while i finish those aot requests. i should hopefully be finished and have them up by tomorrow.
