He could tell that you weren’t falling for his charms, or letting yourself be intimidated by the subtle threats he laced into his sweet gestures.

The way you stiffened up to every caress, and shifted away like you’d rather be anywhere else

And avoided him like the plague.

Sure he had you all to himself, in this secluded base of operations, but he didn’t have your affections, and he was starting to lose his patience.

The only thing assuaging his anticipation being the amount of security he has in place. It could never be as simple as walking out the front door, or cranking a window open in the cover of night.

He’ll know if you get up when your supposed to be sleeping anyway, with how tightly he has his arms around you in bed

He wouldn’t mind jumping to punishments if it gets out of hand, things like locking you in your room all day and handcuffing you to the bed frame

The world is a dangerous place outside of Jonathan’s care, after all. Why would you ever want to leave?

— Nolanverse Jon is a psychiatrist, not a psychologist, but I thought it would be more interesting if I wrote him to have one-on-one sessions with reader. So suspend your disbelief. :P

You learned early on that the only way to survive your situation was to shut down, or fight your way through it.

One of the youngest patients at Arkham, you were infamous among your doctors for being very uncooperative during your sessions

Most of your issues exacerbated by the conditions at the asylum, and inmates who had no trouble walking all over you.

Your therapists (who didn’t care much for juvenile delinquents anyway, when villains like the Joker were housed in the opposite wing), were quick to walk out on you when you lashed out, all except one.

Dr. Crane was the only one who stayed in the room with you, even when you were screaming until your throat burned and spent entire sessions curled up on the floor.

Although you glared daggers into him, he met you with an even tone of voice and a self-assured demeanor that couldn’t be matched, scribbling away on that notepad of his when you thought there was nothing of importance to note.

Dr. Crane seemed to make all the time in the world for you, always first on the scene when you broke down, and never treated you harshly, no matter how cold you were towards him. No matter how many other doctors looked at you with contempt, as if counseling you was a chore.

Maybe if you were paying attention, you would notice that you ran into him a lot outside of sessions, in which he would prod about your well-being and insist on walking you wherever you needed to go, like an overbearing father.

Not to mention how his actions went far beyond a normal doctor-patient relationship, whether it was holding your shoulder steady to look you sternly in the eye or the tight, awkward squeeze he would give you briefly before parting ways

He seemed to prod you about everything. How you slept, what you ate, who you talked to, what your family is like…

Come to think of it, you haven’t heard from your parents in a very long time, since you started your sessions with Crane. Not that you wanted to hear back from them anyway, when they were the ones who sent you there in the first place.

Miraculously, you were eventually released for “good behavior”, despite your headspace not feeling any clearer, and in none other than Dr. Crane’s care.

Nobody seemed to question it, or give you a second glance as you walked out the doors with him. You were under the impression you were going home, only to be herded into the doctor’s car and driven to some secluded house in the countryside, a good long ways away.

Suffice to say, you never left out of his sight again.

Jonathan can’t stand being away from you for too long. You invade his thoughts every waking hour, and it’s starting to interfere with his work…

He thumbs through every file of yours he can get his hands on; you seem to be a pretty average guy, so what draws him to you? For once the psychologist struggles to understand his own thinking.

Surely you wouldn’t mind it if he… observed you from a distance, right? On your way home, and to work, and so on…

It fills him with rage when people try to get close to you, but he’s able to keep his cool. He likes to have his hand in yours, or around your shoulders, glaring down whoever dares to bother you. Not many are willing to cross him.

God does running his hands over your rough skin bring him such ecstasy, especially when he inches towards your groin…

Lotta situations where the two of you end up in locked rooms together, either “coincidently” or because the good doctor only wants to discuss something with you... so he says.

He steals anything of yours he can get his hands on, mostly clothing. He likes to bury his face into them. Your scent is enough to make the blood rush to his face…

It doesn’t help that his obsession with you makes him fumble his dark secret.

“Do you like the mask? It looks better under the effects of the toxin…”

He won’t make a mistake like that again. You might be tougher than he thought.

He loves forcing you to stare at him when you try to look away, especially when he’s doing things to you… that spark of terror in your eyes excites him.

“It’s alright, you’re okay… You can’t help them anymore. They’re so lost in their fear, they can’t console themselves.

Jonathan will make you listen to the screams of your loved ones while he pins you to the wall and whispers sweet nothings into your ear…

Oh, are they scaring you? They don’t deserve a man like you. I can make it all feel better. Let me take care of you.” 🎃
