Someone that goes by the name “@nonbinaryfinnmertens” decided to insult artist Jeff Scott Campbell and his art by saying one of this art pieces (Mary Jane from Spiderman) wasn’t drawn well.

NonBinaryFinnmertens (NBF for short) therefore decided to “fix” the original art by photoshopping it.  The end result was a ‘safe’, less dynamic picture (i.e. less fun and less ‘sexy’).

The original artist (Campbell) decided to have a little fun with this incident, taking NBF’s poor attempt and making it better (you can see it on Instagram).  Not only that, he invited all of his fans to redraw one of his other pictures (the character Black Cat) in their own style.  Hundreds (thousands maybe) of fans joined the challenge.

Above is my attempt at re-drawing Campbell’s “Black Cat” in my own style (I like skull and skeleton imagery).  The bottom-most photo is the original by Campbell.

Ever the good sport, Campbell responded to many posts and added them to his Instagram stories.

It’s been really long since I first saw this but I still can’t get over how he used up an entire fucking paragraph complaining about the stupid collarbones when you can very clearly see even it’s the shit ass quality of his screenshots that. He fucking put that in th re in the first place. Nonbinaryfinn didn’t even touch the damn collarbones. I’m going to burst a vein

He does realize that they didn't change the clavicle at all right? That he drew the clavicle like that in the first place? Does he realize that?

This pisses me off so so much like of course some of it's going to look unnatural! It's an edit, not an original piece, so they have to work with what they have! He, on the other hand, could draw fucking whatever and he fucked it up! And drawing sexy women isn't bad. It's sexualizing women that is bad. There is a difference and what he did is sexualize women to the point where it is unnatural. Boobs don't work like that dipshit! In fact, nonbinaryfinn did a better job of making realistic boobs, which I assume is because they have actually looked at a woman before. And the new pose looks so much more relaxed than the original??? What the actual fuck is he talking about.

The funniest part is that the new drawing actually does look so much better than the original, but only because of the parts that he took from the edit. The edit still looks better than both drawings.
