Termite Treatment Gold Coast
A major cause of home damage in Australia is termite infestations. Annual termite inspections are recommended to protect your investment and avoid costly repairs & rebuilding. Termite damage costs Australian property owners millions of dollars each year.
The Gold Coast has the perfect climate for termite attack and is highly susceptible to the destruction caused by these pests. A lot of the older houses around here have been damaged by termites and the cost of repair can run into thousands of dollars for a normal family home.
Termites feed on cellulose which is found in timber and other plant materials such as paper, cardboard and grass. Termites have evolved over time to become very efficient at harvesting cellulose from trees and consuming it for food. They can also damage and destroy structures made from wood such as cladding, fencing, sheds and home frames.
If left untreated a termite colony can spread rapidly. This can lead to significant structural damage and potential loss of a property and its contents. It’s important to find a local and experienced Termite Treatment Gold Coast professional that can provide you with top quality service.
To ensure you are dealing with a reputable and trusted business it’s best to check the company’s certification, services offered, customer reviews and credentials before making any commitment. You can do this by searching online directories for a local termite control service, speaking to friends and family members who have used a particular service or looking on social media platforms for testimonials from past clients.
A good termite inspector will be able to identify the type of termite you have and advise on a treatment plan. He will perform a full inspection of the property including roof voids, sub-floor areas, flooring, walls and outdoor areas. He will also look for signs of past activity which can be hard to spot.
During the course of a treatment a professional will spray the area with a special insecticide that is specially designed to kill or repel termites. This product will be applied to the soil around the perimeter of your house and may include a chemical barrier that is installed under the foundations of the building. GC Pest Control uses the Trelona ATBS system that has been shown to perform better than other barriers.
It’s important to schedule regular termite inspections and have a treatment plan in place for your Gold Coast property. If you would like to book a termite inspection with an expert, please contact us today. We offer competitive prices and our services are backed by a 100% guarantee. We look forward to hearing from you!

#962: victor rookwood hc post - 1?
Not sure I've lots about that one. A follow-up to the latest hc post.
Once again raising my head from the Brainrot fog to share some character headcanons with the world. Brainrot is a fic I’m working on.
Tags: @thriftstorebabayaga @limonnitsa @catohphm
Cut because tw I'd gotten a little too gnarly to my liking by the end.
Salacious around young (ages 19-22) women of higher classes;
Reeks of whiskey, sweat and cologne. Not terribly so, but enough for his presence to quite literally fill the room;
After killing his father on a lively duel and taking the Ashwinders for himself, got stuck in the perpetual decline of power, as he saw it;
Brainrot: His father was a deviously clever and a vicious crime lord. The name -- Ashwinders -- came from the way the pest multiply. In its early days the Ashwinders were setting fire to hearths around the coasts of Continental Europe in order to get children, magical or not, to follow them, learn from them, and spread their agenda not knowing what it entailed;
Brainrot: Rookwood Sr. minded the Statute very much, as well as many others among the traders and the poor. But the methods he chose were… questionable. Some called them a commendable effort, especially the destitute, but in the grand scheme of things, Rookwood Sr. was either raising an army, no less, or he was an idealistic mind unable to be understood by the contemporary;
Brainrot: The truth leaned powerwards. Rookwood minded the Statute because it was an obstacle. He could act in the open in the south but couldn't in the north, and that was the problem. He and his beneficiaries were constantly getting in serious legal troubles along the northern -- Normandy, Dutch, German, Danish, British, Irish, Swedish, Norwegian -- coasts;
Brainrot: Everyone he managed to snatch, recruit, get, and forced into the ranks was an expandable force, constantly tested. Blood pacts, dark sacrifices, grim rituals; Rookwood gang was less than pleasant place with little hopes of ever escaping its bloody horrors;
Brainrot: Victor didn't know them very well not he was ever let in. He only knew that his father was a powerful Dark Wizard, raised himself a following whom he was meticulously defending, and had literal tons of accumulated wealth he wasn't very keen on sharing;
Brainrot: Fast-forward to Victor's adult years: Victor cultivated an insatiable hunger for power. Unlike his father, he isn't politically savvy, but he knows ruthlessness can open many doors without the need to find any keys for any locks;
When Victor killed his father, he had proven that to himself. The scion and an only heir to the family's line, he took all there was to the gang to himself, changing its course to something more vile and violent on an outward;
Victor doesn't think a discrete approach matters so much as his father used to think. To him, it is a necessity, not a credo, how else would people see where his intent lies and how unequivocally pointless would be to resist it;
He is a force to be reckoned with;
But the more one has, the harder it is to control. He'd cut the beast's tail bit by bit and sew it back* many times until he'd realise he made a grave mistake, and it'd already too late to turn back.

Yellow-legged Meadowhawk (Sympetrum vicinum)
Distribution: Found throughout the eastern USA, southern Canada, the Great Plains region and west coast of North America.
Habitat: Mainly found around slow-moving freshwater, such as marshes, bogs, lakes, ponds and slow streams. They usually occur in somewhat wooded habitats.
Diet: Larvae and adults are carnivorous. Larvae feed mainly on aquatic invertebrates such as freshwater shrimp, water fleas, and the larvae of mosquitoes, flies, mayflies and other dragonflies. Adults feed on any soft-bodied flying insects they can catch, including mosquitoes, flies, small moths, mayflies, flying ants and termites.
Description: Both the larvae and adults of this species have a somewhat opportunistic method for catching prey. Larvae will sit at the bottom of the water, hidden by mud and rocks, and attack any prey that enters their immediate area. Adults have a similar method of hunting, perching on vegetation until they spot a flying target. They will then swoop down and catch it, with an astonishing success rate of 97%.
Members of the Sympetrum genus are extremely tolerant, seeming to be immune to pollutants found in the air and water. They're also extremely efficient at controlling common pests such as mosquitoes and blackflies, as they prey on both their adult and larval forms.

Organic Lawn Care- Chemical-Free Solutions for a Lush Yard
Kyle Aichele
Every homeowner dreams of a landscape characterized by a verdant expanse of vibrant green grass, symbolizing a well-maintained yard. However, the path to such an alluring landscape often requires the use of products packed with synthetic chemicals, creating a dilemma for those who prioritize not just the aesthetics of their yard but also environmental sustainability and personal health. Aware of these concerns, a new wave of lawn care is gaining traction — organic lawn care. This movement is all about maintaining a lush, vibrant lawn without the detrimental impact of synthetic chemicals. Kyle Aichele, a veteran with over 24 years of experience in lawn care and landscaping, understands this growing trend. Originally from North Dakota, Kyle unexpectedly found success in the industry, turning side jobs into a thriving business. Now, he brings his expertise, creativity, and passion for beautiful land care services to the Emerald Coast, providing the community with an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional lawn care.
Kyle Aichele Santa Rosa Beach FL
At its core, organic lawn care revolves around the principles of sustainability and natural solutions. It embraces practices that work in harmony with nature, nurturing the soil and the grass while minimizing environmental impact. The foundation of this approach lies in understanding the ecosystem of your lawn and adopting strategies that support its health holistically.
One of the fundamental elements of organic lawn care is soil health. Healthy soil is the cornerstone of a thriving lawn, and organic methods focus on nurturing the soil rather than merely feeding the grass. Techniques such as composting and mulching are key. Compost, rich in organic matter, improves soil structure, fosters microbial activity, and enhances nutrient retention, providing a natural fertilizer for the grass.
The practice of organic lawn care is gaining traction due to its emphasis on the use of natural fertilizers, which are predominantly derived from plant and animal materials. These organic fertilizers function on a slow-release mechanism, gradually imparting vital nutrients to the soil over time. This method contrasts sharply with the abrupt, often detrimental impact of synthetic chemicals commonly found in non-organic solutions. By slowly infusing the soil with nutrients, organic fertilizers enrich the soil microbiome, facilitating a balanced and resilient ecosystem beneath the grass's surface. This eco-friendly approach to lawn care is championed by professionals like Kyle Aichele, whose extensive experience and commitment to excellent land care services contribute significantly to the promotion of sustainable lawn care practices.
Weeds and pests are common adversaries in lawn care, but organic methods offer effective solutions without resorting to harmful chemicals. Practices like overseeding, which involves planting grass seeds to thicken the lawn, can naturally outcompete weeds by crowding them out. Additionally, manual weed removal and mowing techniques tailored to promote healthy grass growth help keep weeds at bay without the need for herbicides.
To manage pests organically, techniques like introducing beneficial insects or using natural repellents can be highly effective. Beneficial nematodes, for instance, prey on harmful pests like grubs, effectively controlling their population without the need for chemical pesticides. Under the seasoned guidance of Kyle Aichele, yards are transformed into vibrant ecosystems, teeming with a diversity of life. A diverse ecosystem is not merely a visual treat, but a functional one too, attracting a variety of beneficial insects and birds. These natural visitors to your yard, brought in by the careful design and maintenance implemented by Kyle Aichele and his team, serve an important role: they keep pest populations in check. By integrating this natural balance, your outdoor spaces remain both beautiful and healthy, echoing the harmonious interaction of nature.
Water conservation is another crucial aspect of organic lawn care. Efficient watering practices, such as watering deeply but infrequently, encourage deep root growth and drought tolerance in the grass. Utilizing rain barrels to collect water for irrigation reduces reliance on municipal water sources and minimizes water wastage.
Aeration is a practice often employed in organic lawn care to enhance soil health and improve grass growth. By perforating the soil with small holes, aeration promotes better air circulation, water penetration, and nutrient absorption. This process allows roots to access vital nutrients and encourages a healthier, more robust lawn.
An often-overlooked aspect of organic lawn care is the choice of grass species. Opting for native or climate-adapted grass varieties can significantly reduce the need for excessive maintenance, watering, and chemical inputs. These grasses are better adapted to local conditions, requiring fewer resources to thrive while providing a beautiful and resilient lawn.
Embarking on the journey of organic lawn care necessitates not merely a change in practices, but more fundamentally, a transformation in mindset. This style of lawn care, advocated by experienced professionals like Kyle Aichele, is not about instantaneous, show-stopping results that might fade as quickly as they appeared. Instead, it is about cultivating a relationship between your lawn and its surrounding environment that is resilient and sustainable, built to stand the test of time. Embracing organic lawn care means having the patience to wait for the truly rewarding results which come from nurturing the natural processes that contribute to a healthy, vibrant lawn. This approach deeply respects and works in harmony with nature, rather than trying to force or expedite growth unnaturally. It's about understanding that the beauty and health of your lawn are intrinsically tied to the health of the soil it grows in and the ecosystem it is a part of. Organic lawn care is a commitment, but the rewards are worth the wait.
Transitioning to organic lawn care might take time, especially if your lawn has been reliant on chemical treatments for an extended period. However, with dedication and consistent application of organic practices, the rewards become evident. A lush, healthy lawn cultivated through organic methods not only enhances the beauty of your property but also contributes positively to the surrounding ecosystem.
Organic lawn care is a testament to the harmony between human activity and the natural world. It's a commitment to nurturing the land responsibly, ensuring that the beauty of a vibrant, chemical-free lawn is not at the expense of the environment's well-being. Embracing organic lawn care practices is a step towards sustainability, fostering a healthier environment for generations to come.

They also do stump grinding, which means they get rid of the stump left behind after the tree is removed. They are fully licensed and insured, so you can be sure that your property is in good hands. Spotted lanternfly is once again a pest experts say LCOs should keep an eye on. (Photo: arlutz73 / iStock / Getty Images Plus / Getty Images) Aaron Hathaway Aaron Hathaway Technical services manager in turf and ornamentals Nufarm The spotted lanternfly (SLF) is a fast-moving insect pest, but it fortunately isn’t as devastating to its hosts as some other pests like emerald ash borer. It was first found in the U.S. in 2014 in Berks County, Pa., and made its way to New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio and seen in Michigan. SLF is more of a nuisance pest to trees but can devastate crops like hops, grapes, and others. It has many hosts on which they feed by piercing through plants and sucking the sugar-rich sap. They leave a wake of secreted honeydew, which attracts bees, wasps and other insects and promotes the growth of sooty mold, which can cover plants, patios, cars and anything else underneath heavily infested hosts. Matt Wilkinson Matt Wilkinson Proprietary products manager Albaugh Specialty Products Doveweed is a weed primarily found near the Florida coast but has been emerging further north and more inland. This annual is often mistaken for Virginia buttonweed and can be difficult to kill. Split applications in February or March and again in April or May can help alleviate the potential of preemergent misses. Atrazine, S-metolachlor, dimethenamid, and indaziflam provide the best activity for preemergent options. Early identification for postemergent applications is essential as young doveweed plants can be difficult to differentiate among desirable warm-season grasses. Young leaves are most susceptible to chemical controls and postemergent combinations, including 2,4-D, dicamba, MCPA, sulfentrazone and metsulfuron tend to work best. However, multiple applications may be necessary. Jared Hoyle Jared Hoyle, Ph.D. Turf and ornamental territory manager Corteva Agriscience One emerging pest that LCOs should know about in 2024 is Japanese stiltgrass. As a summer annual that comes back year after year, populations and the seed bank can increase year-to-year if not controlled. LCOs must apply preemergent herbicides before germination. If LCOs apply preemergent herbicides too late, they will have to move to a post-application product. Dithiopyr, commonly utilized in weed control programs, can control postemergently at early growth stages as well as preemergence control thereafter. Bobby Kerr, Ph.D. Bobby Kerr, Ph.D. Technical service manager Quali-Pro Bermudagrass mites (Eriophyes cynodoniensis) have become an increasing issue in the U.S. over the last several years. Mites are difficult to diagnose due to size (adults are 0.006 to 0.008 inches or 0.16 to 0.21 millimeters long). They are cigar or banana-shaped, translucent and have two legs. Development from egg to adult takes about two weeks and each female lays about 50 eggs. The combination of tiny size, quick life cycle and females producing a large number of eggs makes diagnosing and controlling bermudagrass mites challenging. What You Need to Know About Japanese Beetles
As part of our ongoing series on invasive insects, this article focuses on Japanese beetles, a significant concern for homeowners and gardeners due to their destructive impact on over 300 species of ornamental plants. This article will discuss the characteristics, life cycle, and damage caused by Japanese beetles in Pennsylvania. We will also explore various control methods and offer tips for preventing infestations.
Tumblr media
How Japanese Beetles Came to Pennsylvania
Japanese beetles (Popillia japonica) are invasive insects native to Japan, as the name implies. The Japanese beetle was introduced into the U.S. in 1916 near Riverton, New Jersey, and likely arrived in the United States on ornamental nursery stock. The pest soon spread throughout the eastern United States, being detected on the west coast as early as the 1940s. Since then, the pest has spread throughout much of North America, affecting most states and Canada.
Japanese Beetle Appearance
Adult Japanese beetles are about one-half of an inch long with a shiny metallic green body and copper-colored wing covers, and their neck, head, and legs are reddish-brown. The adult beetles also have two patches of white hairs at the tip of their abdomen and five tufts of white hairs on both sides of their abdomen. In addition, adult beetles often have orange wing tips, which show when they are flying to escape predators or when disturbed. The larvae, or grubs, are creamy-white with brown heads and three pairs of legs on the thorax region (where the wings and legs attach to the main body).
Beetle Life Cycle
The beetle’s life cycle is completed in approximately one year in Pennsylvania. Female beetles lay eggs in the soil under host plants in late June through mid-August. Then, the beetle larvae will hatch after two weeks and feed on grass roots until winter. Japanese beetles spend the winter buried in the ground, moving towards the surface as the spring season approaches and the weather gets warm. During this time, the larvae will continue to feed on grass roots until they mature, usually from late May through June.
From late June to July (around June 20 in the southern areas of Pennsylvania), the larvae will have matured into adult beetles and emerge from the ground. While Japanese beetles begin emerging from the soil around late June, the pests are most abundant during July. When mating, female beetles lay around 40-60 eggs in the soil, where the life cycle repeats.
As mentioned previously, the beetles feed on more than 300 species of host plants, from ornamental plants to even fruit and crops. The larvae only feed on grass roots, while the adult beetles feed on a much more extensive range of plants. Some common ornamental plants the pest feeds on include roses, flowering cherries, marigolds, and birch—adult beetles damage plants by “skeletonizing” the foliage. “Skeletonizing” means that the beetles consume only the leaf material between the veins. As a result, these leaves may turn brown and eventually fall off.
Adults feed during the day and tend to favor hot weather and plants growing with total exposure to the sun. The larvae, meanwhile, damage lawns by chewing grass roots, causing the turf to brown and die. The result is that the turf pulls up easily from the soil, or dead patches of grass form if the problem is severe.
Japanese Beetle Treatment & Management
Our plant health care specialists have a specific treatment program for managing the beetles and protecting your plants. For example, one pest management treatment method for Japanese beetle populations in a landscape is pesticide application.
Methods for controlling and eliminating Japanese beetles include:
Biological approaches: Introducing natural predators, such as parasitic wasps or flies, can help control beetle populations.
Chemical approaches: Pesticide applications by plant health care specialists can manage beetle infestations and protect plants.
Cultural approaches: Removing rotting tree fruit and maintaining a healthy lawn can help prevent beetle infestations.
Traps are also available, but the trapping method is used more as a monitoring tool to measure the extent of pest presence of the pest. Traps use floral lures or female pheromones to attract beetles, so the traps could attract more beetles to your landscape. Like the pesticides, these traps should be handled by a professional plant health care specialist to ensure that they are used correctly.
Contact Burkholder PHC for Japanese Beetle Treatment in Your Landscape

The waters off Jupiter Beach are calm enough for swimming but still offer plenty of waves for surfers who want something more exciting than flat water; however, if you're just starting out then don't be afraid to try out some beginner-friendly spots like South Beach Park (located just south from Jupiter) or Jensen Beach State Park(located about an hour north).
Juno Beach
Juno Beach is a town in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,849 at the 2000 census. The town is named after Juno Beach, the site of the D-Day landings in 1944. The town's name is pronounced "June-o" Beach.
Juno Beach lies on State Road A1A between Boynton Beach and Delray Beach along the Atlantic Ocean. It includes some areas south of A1A such as Riviera Bay and Riviera Shores; these neighborhoods are part of unincorporated Palm Beach County but have Juno addresses (zip code 33408).
Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Park
Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Park is a beautiful beach located on Jupiter Island. The lighthouse itself is open to the public and offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and Jupiter Inlet. This park features a beach, campground, picnic area, playground, and dock for fishing or boating in Jupiter Inlet. The park is open from 8 am-sunset every day except for Thanksgiving Day (November 22nd) and Christmas Day (December 25th).
Jonathan Dickinson State Park
Jonathan Dickinson State Park is a Florida State Park located in Martin County, Florida. The park includes the largest mangrove forest in Florida, as well as several other ecosystems such as hardwood hammocks, pine flatwoods, and coastal prairies. This makes it an excellent place for birding or paddling through the mangroves.
The park is named after Jonathan Dickinson, a preacher who was one of the first European settlers in the area; he arrived here by boat with his family and slaves on November 11th, 1769 after leaving New Jersey due to religious persecution from Quakers (who were against slavery).
Ocean Inlet Park
Ocean Inlet Park is a great place to swim, picnic, and grill. There are picnic tables, grills, restrooms, and plenty of parking. This park is located on Ocean Inlet Drive off Indiantown Rd near Jupiter Beach Park (also known as "Jupiter Beach").
Conclusion
There are so many beautiful beaches in the Jupiter area. We hope this list has helped you find the perfect one for your next trip!

Harlequin bug pinbox
Tumblr media
The literal "sucking-to-death" of the host plant results in wilting, browning, and eventual death. The harlequin bug feeds on its host plant by sucking the plant's juices. In the absence of these favorite hosts, tomato, potato, eggplant, okra, bean, asparagus, beet, weeds, fruit trees and field crops may be eaten. Plants commonly attacked by the harlequin bug include such crucifers as horseradish, cabbage, cauliflower, collards, mustard, Brussels sprouts, turnip, kohlrabi and radish. Photograph by James Castner, University of Florida. Adult harlequin bug, Murgantia histrionica (Hahn). At rest, the front pair of wings overlap and the insect's back appears to be marked with a distinct X.įigure 4. Photograph by James Castner, University of Florida.Īdults: The adults are gaudy red-and-black-spotted stink bugs about 9.5 mm long, with flat, shield-shaped bodies. Nymph of the harlequin bug, Murgantia histrionica (Hahn). The abdomen coloration progresses similarly to that of the thorax, getting showier with each progressive molt.įigure 3. The thorax ranges from pale orange in first instars to a final pattern of scarlet, white, yellow and black in the fifth or sixth instars. Antennae of first instars are colorless and darken to black with each progressive molt. The head coloration of the nymphs ranges from pale orange (in first instar), darker (in second to fourth) to black (in fifth instar). Nymphs: There are five or six nymphal instars that feed and grow for four to nine weeks before they are capable of mating. Photograph by Lyle Buss, University of Florida. Eggs and nymphs of the harlequin bug, Murgantia histrionica (Hahn). Photograph by James Castner, University of Florida.įigure 2. Eggs of the harlequin bug, Murgantia histrionica (Hahn). The eggs hatch in four to 29 days, the time varying with the temperature.įigure 1. Each egg is marked by two broad black hoops and a black spot. Approximately 12 eggs are laid together in one batch, usually on the underside of the leaves of the host plant. Harlequin bugs pass the winter as adults (commonly referred to as stink bugs) and true hibernation is doubtful.Įggs: Eggs of the harlequin bug resemble tiny white kegs standing on end in a double row ( Figure 1). The life cycle consists of three stages: egg, nymph and adult. It first spread over the southern United States from Mexico shortly after the Civil War.Ī generation of the harlequin bug requires 50 to 80 days. This insect is rarely found north of Colorado and Pennsylvania. The harlequin bug is a southern insect ranging from the Atlantic to the Pacific coasts. The harlequin bug injures the host plants by sucking the sap of the plants, causing the plants to wilt, brown and die. This pest has the ability to destroy the entire crop where it is not controlled. The harlequin bug is an important insect pest of cabbage and related crops in the southern half of the United States. We joined our neighborhood in the nextdoor app a month ago to keep up with stuff and to like, be at least somewhat aware of society nearby
So anyway fast forward to now which is the middle of rainy season and how we are inundated with messages asking what this is:
Tumblr media
Anyway if you live in the Southeastern region of the US, particularly along the coasts and marshland and swamps between North Carolina and Florida, this NopeNoodle is the Southern Copperhead and yes it is venomous and yes you should leave it alone or call your local pest control/county services to remove them. They just come up more into neighborhoods because of rain, rising water and habitat loss (where you have suburbs getting built out in middle of nowhere places that used to be buggy marsh). Copperheads are part of the pit viper family, but they’re not as venomous as other snakes and while you definitely need to have the bite treated immediately they aren’t typically lethal. They will defend themselves, just make sure you have any openings on your house grated and check your toilet bowl before sitting on it (they swim) and you’re good. Obviously if you find one, just leave it alone, don’t let your pets or children play with it, just let the poor thing go about it’s day.
This little noodle:
Tumblr media
Is the Northern Georgia Watersnake. They are NOT venomous. Sometimes they also like to make their way up people’s pipes or navigate backyards from one water source to another. They get mistaken for copperheads a lot because they have banding and similar patterning (not all copperheads are as vibrant as the one above, they tend to be a bit more leaf-litter blending down here), but they are about as harmless as they come.
Unless you’re being directly threatened, there isn’t much reason to killing a snake - I literally watched a little copperhead cross the sidewalk the other night when I was walking to my car, and it just hustled faster when we noticed each other. Please do research, and find your local pest control and reach out to them if you have a snake on your property that needs to be relocated.
Also if you see a couple or so snakes wrapped up and tangled together, just. Uh. Leave them alone - they are having private time.
On that note, fun fact but copperheads, like some other snakes, have exhibited reproduction through parthenogenesis!
