The Radiant Court

Prior to the abdication of Matriarch Castanea from leadership of the clan, her rule ultimately served as law for the Verdant Eyrie. This system worked well, for the most part, though Castanea’s largely conservative decision-making meant that things worked much the same for years in the clan. When she passed her authority to Vastrana, however, things changed. The Spiral dragon wanted absolutely nothing to do with the authoritarian style that her predecessor had maintained. Instead, she proposed a council of leadership, one made up of representatives from each elemental flight. One problem immediately presented itself, however – the clan had no Earth flight representation. Finding a dragon to fill that position has been Vastrana’s focus since then.

Each member of the Radiant Court has been with the clan almost since the beginning, and while they know each other well, they still butt heads on certain issues. Nevertheless, they all agree on one thing: the needs of the clan outweigh those of themselves. While they try to convey the importance of that sentiment to the rest of the clan members, they don’t force their will on their wards. Some of the Radiant Court have taken apprentices, to ensure their priorities carry on past their own Exaltations and that their seat will not remain unoccupied. Others have created special interest groups within Gleamhaven’s ranks, largely centered around interests and talents that the clan possesses.

New Beginnings

In the glorious crystalline cliffs of the Starfall Isles reside the denizens of Gleamhaven. Young and old dragons alike share this beautiful place, inspired by their surroundings and each other to create marvelous works of art, literature, and spellcraft. Within the halls of Gleamhaven, all those driven by creativity can find a home.

Founded in 2014, in the earliest days of Sornieth, Gleamhaven Clan did not always go by this name. The matriarch who founded this clan hailed from the Nature flight — a powerful Guardian dragon named Castanea. Christening her territory “The Verdant Eyrie”, Castanea set to work recruiting the mightiest and cleverest dragons to her side. With the Gladekeeper’s protection, the lair flourished… until suddenly, the entire clan went into dormancy.

For years, neither scale nor tail of Castanea’s brood could be found — it seemed that the mighty mother and her followers had simply vanished from Sornieth. However, recently they re-emerged with new leadership: a young Spiral arcanist named Vastrana. The clan migrated to a new home in the Starfall Isles, and settled into a new way of life. Matriarch Castanea still holds a position of power in the clan, but now shares that role with nine other dragons called the Radiant Court. In this way, they hope to welcome more dragons of all kinds, especially now that the Ancient dragons have entered Sornieth’s society.

Now that Vastrana and the Radiant Court have resettled the clan in Gleamhaven, there’s other work to be done. First and foremost, a representative from the Earth flight has yet to join the clan and complete the Court. Second, incorporating Ancient dragons into the clan has taken precedence, as their unique insights and experiences will only add to the diversity of the clan. Finally, the dragons of Gleamhaven wish to uplift the Arcane flight and enrich Sornieth at large with the fruits of their creativity.

i really enjoy this new skydancer skin, so much so that i made this random dragon that i bought into an indiana jones-style treasure hunter (without the tomb raiding, colonialism, etc.)

nyomi hunts for exciting treasures and archaeological wonders within the starfall isles, reporting back to the scholars at gleamhaven so that they can put their discoveries on record!

this outfit is *definitely* not finished, but it's proof of concept at least!

Welcome to the Gleamhaven Archives

The clan of Matriarch Castanea has awoken after years of dormancy. Times and allegiances have changed, and though the old Queen of the Forest still commands great authority and respect, the clan itself has relocated to the Starfall Isles. A new start requires new stomping grounds, after all!

Leading this great change is the new Matriarch of the clan, the powerful spellcaster Vastrana. While some see this change as a coup, others welcome the new environment and fresh perspectives. Many of the dragons here are older, wiser and rather set in their ways, but the new clutches being born each day precipitate a more youthful mindset. Time will tell how the clan's futures will unfold!
