Stance in Live “Addicted” tem Ji Haewon, Namji e Ryu Miram em cena.

Como parte do projeto colaborativo entre a Tríplice H, Stance In Live, foi revelado hoje o digital single “Addicted”, assim como seu MV, das membros do SUPERNOVA Ji Haewon, Nam Jimin e Ryu Miram. O single é o segundo projeto por membros do grupo através do Stance e será promovido em programas musicais por uma semana, começando ao domingo (07/10).

A faixa foi descrita como “uma canção alegre e contagiante, que explora o dance e eletropop junto a uma letra ousada, na perspectiva de uma garota confiante de si que lista as próprias qualidades para o garoto que gosta e afirma que, quando ele finalmente abrir seu coração para ela, ficará viciado em seu amor”. Ainda que seus produtores tenham procurado manter a imagem forte e segura de si passada pelo SUPERNOVA como inteiro, também trouxeram à música um clima mais juvenil e açucarado que combinasse com a faixa etária do trio, composto por algumas das membros mais novas do grupo.

O vídeo clipe de Addicted segue a tendência animada da canção e apresenta uma paleta de cores vívidas e tons pastéis, tendo uma dominância dos tons rosados — um grande contraste às cores escuras presentes nos MVs do SUPERNOVA. A ambientação é de uma escola de ensino médio vazia, com cenas em salas de aula, corredores, vestiários e uma quadra de tênis. Elas dividem-se entre shots individuais de Haewon, Namji e Miram, partes da coreografia e a narrativa do clipe, que as mostra competindo entre si pela atenção da própria câmera e do público ao prepararem armadilhas e sabotarem umas às outras.

Em explicação ao tema do MV, o trio comentou que sua intenção era fazer uma crítica a como a sociedade atual joga as garotas umas contra as outras por fama, padrões de beleza e interesses amorosos, enquanto deveria incentivá-las a se unir. As três também afirmaram que “nosso grupo tem diferentes cores e nem todas elas podem ser exploradas nas nossas músicas como grupo completo, então preparamos este single para experimentarmos um novo conceito e mostrarmos que ainda temos vários charmes para revelar”.

Korean Movie Review: “Kingdom: Ashin of the North”

After more than a year of waiting, finally, Netflix was already released the special episode of Kingdom series, entitled “Kingdom: Ashin of the North” last July 23, 2021. Currently, the said special episode is on top spot trend on Netflix. This special episode had 93 minutes running time which reveal Ashin’s origin story and how resurrection plant has been discovered.

Short summary:

It was started upon introducing the Kingdom of Joseon and the Jurchen people then started to focus on the living of the people in  Northern village of Seongjeoyain (who were also the Jurchens living within the area of the Kingdom of Joseon) where you can see how lowly are their lives. Ashin’s father, Ta Hab, is the head of Seongjeoyain for their settlement in Joseon. The tension between Joseon and Pajeowi tribe were high, the Pajeowi gathered their army in border while Joseon army recruited people from Seongjeoyain to monitor the Pajeowi. Ashin's father was offered for the role due to his loyalty to Joseon. He agreed in the hopes that the king would grant Seongjeoyain governmental representation, improving the lives of its people.

A report came and Joseon army discovered that a group of Pajeowi Jurchen men enter the forbidden area known as Pyesa-gun to illegally gather wild ginseng, they all die unexpectedly. Later, a rumor started to spread that it was all because of a tiger attack but then, it was revealed that  Cho Beom-il, the son of  Lord Cho Hak-ju, is the one who behind the said crimes, claiming that the wild ginseng in Pyesa-gun was owned by Haewon Cho clan.

To avoid such war between Joseon and Pajeowi clan, after their meeting in the borders,  the Deputy Commander of the Chupajin group, Min Chi-rok, told the Pajeowi men that behind the deaths of their fellow tribe is because of the Jurchen people in Seongjeoyain.  At the nighttime, the Pajeowi army suddenly attack the Northern village. Prior to the attack on the village, Ashin finds the resurrection plant in a hidden cave shrine and reads the ancient wall glyphs to understand its properties and effects, to tend to her terminally ill mother. Upon her returning in the village, Ashin finds out their village has already burned and all people were died. 

Being the only one who survived the said attack, Ashin goes to the Deputy Commander and asked the revenge for the deaths of her fellow tribe.  He places her in a military settlement post, where she begins to perform odd jobs while training relentlessly and quietly in the woodlands. Years later, her first mission by the Commander is to spy on the military camp of Pajeowi.

Within her mission on Pajeowi tribe, Ashin found out that her father was still alive and was brand as traitor, begging her to kill him. Soon after her mission, she found out that the war between her tribe and Pajeowi tribe is because of the Joseon army (or specifically because of Deputy Commander).

Later on, she decided to take revenge and killed several Joseon soldiers and uses the resurrection plant to bring them back as zombies.  She uses the last soldier as bait, to gather the zombies together and then lights them all on fire, leaving no survivors, living or undead, in the camp. On later part, it was shown that Ashin leaves to meet  Lee Seung-hui, the Joseon King's physician. She sells to him the resurrection plant. After meeting the physician,  Ashin witnesses Ai Da Gan and his Pajeowi brethren riding horses in the distance and releases an arrow to them.

My feedback on the cast, cinematography and story itself.

For the cast, indeed they portrayed their characters so great. Everyone is convincing on how they act on their roles, especially the young Ashin and Ashin herself, Jun Ji-hyun (though honestly, I was surprised at first that it seems like the young Ashin have more screen time than the old Ashin, but guess what? it was justifiable so its totally find!). I could say that how the story goes within the 90 mins. running time of this special episode surely answered every questions have been left in the last season. Truly indeed, even Jun Ji-hyun barely speaks throughout the scene, she really fits the role, I wonder how far she will do when season 3 comes. Exciting! 

For the cinematography, what more can I say, it was really high definition, and the shots are perfect. I love how they viewed the scenes in the forest though it actually makes me dizzy for some reasons. LOL!

Clearly in my perspective that Ashin is the one who introduced the resurrection plant and introduced it to Doctor Lee Seung-hi during the time when Joseon is about to having a war against Japanese invaders (or army). But then again, in every season or episode ended, as a viewer, there’s a lot of questions in my mind came:

First, she mentioned that she will join her tribe after her mission, so does it mean there’s a special episode or another season wherein she will take revenge on Pajeowi tribe? Will it be when she meet the Prince Lee Chang or an additional season for this Kingdom series?

Second, what’s her real agenda on giving the resurrection plant to Doctor Lee Seung-hi?

Third, if there’s any chance for her and Deputy Commander Min Chi Rok  to meet again? Will they be still enemies or will be an ally later on?

Lastly, Do Ashin knows what’s exactly is the solution to treat the infected? Does she knows the same as what Seobi knows?

In addition to this and after watching the special episode last Friday, I wonder why suddenly the writer and netflix came up to plan that there will be a special episode about the past and present of Prince Lee Chang, what would be the impact if they gonna make a side story for him? I hope it will lead us to a good ending as well same as how I wish that his side story and the next season will be release at the same year, because in my opinion, it doesn’t makes sense to release the season 3 after 2 yrs. The story of Ashin is justifiable to release for we could have atleast a prequel on how the resurrection plant was discovered (and pretty sure the notes on the wall is from her Ancestors ‘cause it seems like) 

Now, what the remaining questions left on season 2 which I know you might be as well asked to yourselves. What are the reasons why Prince Chang decided to travel the Northern part of Joseon? Ugh, personally I can’t wait for season 3!

Lovely handwriting dances across the paper as Eun-ji finishes up notes on a pad. Today the young woman was taking a half day to  spend it at the local orphanage, a regular practice for the woman. “Haewon-ah?” Her voice was sweet, dropping formalities a bit as the pair were getting slightly closer. After all it had been some time of Eun-ji visiting to the other’s workplace to volunteer or donate various items and large cash sums. ( @wyhaewon ) and the other workers were some of the few that actually saw the local celebrity dress down - such as today. The long -sleeved white sweat that she wore seemed to hide her figure as she walked around the table towards the other female, handing the woman her notepad. “I’ve listed a few things I’ve notice you all are running low on. Is there anything else you need ?” concern drips in her voice as dark hues look over shoulder to the notes she just wrote out. 

“I have, diapers, soaps, cans and an array of different bathroom products. I also wanted to run by the idea of having a toy drive for the children soon ? I wouldn’t mind being the head of that and funding it myself. Maybe we can host it at the upcoming Christmas market? I’m sure they will get a lot of traffic.” Eun-ji was a fast talker as she wanted to get to the point, even in situations like this she treated everything as a business. Something that was ground into her since birth, something she wanted to break. Honestly being around people such as Haewon lead her to be more relaxed, but only slightly as they did not know much about each other besides their love for children. “What do you think? I could try to get a sponsor as well. I’ll just need to know soon as I would have to make calls within the next week or so.”

SUPERNOVA posa para a Dazed Korea

A revista Dazed Korea revelou hoje o ensaio fotográfico e entrevista feitos com o grupo rookie Supernova no dia 23 de agosto. As meninas foram questionadas acerca de seus planos futuros como grupo, inspirações e o relacionamento com ex-colegas do H Producer.

As fotos têm como ambientação um estúdio fechado, predominante de tons claros e procurando evocar o sentimento das estações frias próximas. Igualmente, o figurino distancia-se do clima de verão e traz roupagens mais fechadas e sóbrias.

Apesar das expressões sérias e cativantes do ensaio, foi revelado que as meninas brincaram entre si e com os staffs no estúdio enquanto trocavam figurinos e assistiam umas às outras, provocando risadas contagiantes no local.

SUPERNOVA posa para a Céci Korea

Os rostos do último ensaio fotográfico da Céci Korea foram os das garotas do Supernova, que foram fotografadas e entrevistadas pela revista no dia 20 de agosto.

A sessão foi feita ao ar livre e procurou trazer expressões mais naturais das meninas, em contraste à imagem mais séria e “girl crush” que o conceito do grupo apresenta. Para isso, também foi apostado em figurinos joviais e coloridos.

Foi comentado que a sessão correu facilmente graças à naturalidade e entusiasmo do Supernova, combinando perfeitamente com o tema proposto.

Compromissos oficiais do Supernova são liberados pela Triplice H

O grupo feminino Supernova debutou na última quarta-feira de Julho, e posteriormente encantou seus fãs em um showcase com fanmeeting para promover suas músicas. Supernova estará promovendo nos programas musicais por vinte dias. Os fansigns vão acontecer em Gangnam, Incheon e Gwangju. E terá um fanmeeting em Busan. 

As garotas vão gravar o Weekly Idol, Knowing Bros e Idol Room no decorrer do mês onde vão ir ao ar os episódios no mês de agosto. As rádios Sukira (08/08) e Night Club (14/08) vão receber o grupo para promover sua estréia como grupo. E vão participar dos festivais de verão da Seoul National University (05/08), Wonkwang University (11/08) e Sungkyungkwan University (19/08).

Durante todo o mês o supernova irá dar entrevistas para Vogue Korea, Céci Korea e Dazed Korea com ensaios fotográficos.

Supernova assina contrato com sua primeira marca internacional, Epic Games.

A Tríplice H e a empresa Epic Games, responsável pelo desenvolvimento do jogo online Fortnite, anunciaram recentemente sua nova parceria, que trouxe as nove membros do grupo feminino SUPERNOVA como os novos rostos representantes do jogo na Coreia do Sul. As meninas participarão de comerciais e ensaios fotográficos para promover Fortnite e também farão uma transmissão ao vivo beneficente no dia 22 de setembro, jogando-o na plataforma de streaming Twitch. De acordo com os detalhes liberados pelas empresas, o dinheiro arrecadado em doações durante a transmissão será inteiramente direcionado a instituições de caridade.

Sobre a escolha das garotas propaganda para o jogo, a Epic Games declarou sua animação em trabalhar com o SUPERNOVA pela oportunidade de incentivar a participação de mulheres na comunidade de jogos online, especialmente diante do mundialmente reconhecido cenário gamer sul-coreano. Ademais, também foi destacada a imagem "forte, porém carismática" carregada pelo grupo, que combina com o mundo vívido e cheio de ação experienciado no jogo.
