evolution of how men and i interacted at my different jobs so far

doing exact same work and being physically stronger than some of the men > men start lifting things for me and shooing me away when i try > guy held open a door for me and after i said thanks he said i’m just happy to be ur knight in shining armor today

#personal #granted last one i was on a scooter for a broken foot so like context #but still crazy my first job we all did the same jobs #like granted some were only for people literally strong enough #then next job men start just #lifting stuff for me #like not even heavy stuff but also heavy stuff #if it’s even a little heavy men at home depot will just grab it from you immediately a good chunk of the time #if they let you even get near it #now granted also very common a dude ignoring you struggle and then rip a nail out like avoid eye contact #dude and chicks to be clear but we’re talking dudes #then now #nothing super weird actually to report gender wise nicely enough #only thing is maybe sercuity telling me i should be smiling but i think i missed the end of a joke #but he’s a nice guy anyway so like no biggie either way which sounds bad but like #it’s just not that deep i don’t see this dude super often and it’s a usual quick hello how are yous and asking how im doing foot wise he’s #nice plus he said i look like some celebrity my first day i can’t remember her name and i’m not re asking #no idea where this was going but there we are
