It had been an adjustment the last couple of months. From that point onward, the Hanamura siblings were figuring out their new "normal" and what that looked like for their family. Chiro had moved into the Hyper Force's base while continuing his training and finding he was thriving fully immersed in it. There wasn't a hard time limit, he had all the time he wanted to focus. His mind and body were challenged in ways it had never been before. Mila could see the change in his confidence. While Chiro never lacked it, it only grew and the change was a welcomed one. The light in his eyes, the way he carried himself… although, not to say everything had been perfect. Mila found herself not sure what to do with herself a lot of the time. Refurbishing the store had been a massive project in and of itself. It was up and running now but that had been an… experience to say the least. "WHAT THE FU-" Mila covered her mouth, bouncing in place anxiously as she looked at the damage to her store. She had managed to convince Gibson to let her leave the base just to stretch her legs, provided someone was with her. And checking in on the store, she decided it was a massive mistake. She groaned as she looked at the large bay glass window that made up her store front. "Oh nooooo…" Already the numbers were tallying up in her head. The broken pots, the display cases that kept flowers fresh, all of it had been so pricey when her parents had bought them. She had gotten good at keeping them running but broken beyond repair? Her heart beat faster, as she whined a bit, bouncing even more anxiously. "Holy Shuggazoom…" How much was this going to cost to fix? Otto popped up beside her, his hand turning into a wrench. "Just leave it to me! I'll have you back up and running in no time!" "Uh, let us actually help, Mila. All of us." Nova cringed. "We all kinda feel responsible that you got caught up in this." "Do I have to chip in any money?" "No!" Mila gave a shaky thumbs up before her knees buckled under her anew as Chiro caught her arms. "Okay, that's enough sticker shock. Back to base." She looked back at the store, shaking her head. "Hnnnn, this is gonna be normal, isn't it?" She mumbled. Chiro grimaced, rubbing her shoulder. "We'll try. Now, come on, let's get you back home." "And you moved out… Oh gosh you are moving out…"

And so, Arc 2 begins with a bang!

This actually originally was chapter 13 but I wanted a bit of breathing room and to explore the aftermath of Arc 1, hence last weeks chapter. This chapter, was one of my favorites that I had written back in December actually. I honestly, had been wracking my brain over how Mila was going to react to this one when I got to it and when it happened it just flowed. Chiro got distracted by a pretty lady. Good thing he TOTALLY meant to do that on purpose...

Now, to see where we go from here.

I want to share with ya'll something funny that my lil cousin make me remember when i was talking with her about the cartoon critters ('cause yeah, she's my betatester for the cartoon, nothing better that to have a real kid in the matter)

You know why i had been so invested in the critters?

As i had said before i work with children, and due that i had to find ways to bring their attention while working in ''boring'' things, and what was the idea i got for it?

With pretty characters of course!

I for my work i make some curious characters, wanna see the funny part, this were the design

Take in mind, i made this around february 2023, A LOT before the smiling critters were out, so you can imagine the surprise and shock in my mind when the teaser trailer was out. Yeah, the design aren't the same, and i admit they are kinda generic children design for animals, but the similarities were so shocking for me that i remember looking at my files again and thinking how the fuck did this happens? Did i base them in the smiling critters without know it? Had i see this design before and i couldn't remember? Doesn't matter at the end, casualities happens i guess, so i leave it like that.

Sadly, this little creatures hadn't never used for their purpose. Even when i had make a lot of didactic work, i hadn't have the financial meaning to put it out (copyright, print it, distribute it).

I was so hyped with this that i didn't think on it till it was too late (aka i had made a full mini book and their stories), so even when sad, i accept it and keep moving, so they had been canned in my files since then.

This is probably why i had embrace the cartoon critters with such power, 'cause in a way they're allowing me to work in something similar to this with the internet support, and that make me happy.

Why 'm sharing all this? Well, my cousin also help me design this lil' creatures at it time (the cat, called Alicia, was completly her idea), so she ask me to draw the cat with crafty in the first episode (since is also her fav one in the critters), and well, i did it

So yeah, this lil cat is going to be a background character, and maybe the rest of the lil' creatures too, since my cousin was really happy to see her design in my actual project, and i'm happy to see this design one more time.

thinking abt the happy pills arc again but mostly importantly at how many references of brazilian history was there during forevers lives specially the music... like the clothes ccforever was using the video of rio in the 50s the references to vargas era and bossa nova. i saw an artist making an animatic of him using "construção" by chico buarque which is one of my fav songs from the anti ditactorship era along with "panis et circenses" and my brain got rewired as well. gosh it was soooooo so good and so well done you can even make a video essay about it ccforever rlly poped off with that i never felt so hyped with an arc bc im an history nerd AND seeing brazilian history implemented on a multilingual server was just *chefs kiss*
