Asterius Polaris is the protagonist of Mother of the Apocalypse and the son of the goddess Septentria and the god Taphion. Predestined to be an accomplice in the Apocalypse, Asterius sets out to escape his destiny and hopefully find a way to stop the Apocalypse. He's taken in by Alexios, fated savior of the world and the only man said to be able to stop the Apocalypse. Together they seek out a way to save their world, all while Asterius keeps his true identity hidden.

Lumaria Stellarune is the Emissary of the Goddesses of Magic. Placed in this important role two years ago when she was ten, she is responsible for the entire realm of Genesis. She is aided by gods and powerful spirits to make the best decisions for her people, but it still is quite an awful lot of pressure for a preteen girl.

Izebel: Created for the sole purpose of being the vessel for Kirke's curse that she created to destroy the universe. Has abandonment issues. Child ruler.

Sam: A bioweapon created by the Texan military nearly a decade after the Bio Wars ended. Her creator was his mother figure in the fucked up evil way. Killed about two dozen security personnel. Met Logan while covered in other people's blood. Teen angst.

Farana: Elven nobility from the Forgotten Realms who was kidnapped by human researchers from Earth and raised by the head scientist, Thelma Howells. Unleashed a horrific evil about it and tried to conquer the Forgoten Realms about it.

Karma: Raised by the head of the Elder Deamon Council and constantly told to be lesser than her mother. Ran away as a teenager, came back as a young adult and killed the King of Hveske, claiming the throne in rite of combat. Was imminently challenged in a fight to the death by her mother, won at the cost of her family's good name. Lives in the body of a dead god.

Skadumire: Was a decorated war hero and beloved by his people. His wife and son were killed by a magical plague that caused another war. Came back from said war with ancient necromatic tomes. Tried to bring his family back, turned one of his living daughters into a mindless vampire on accident. Scared his only living daughter away by becoming a vampire.

Salem: Had his soul fused with a forest spirit when he was 13 and became literally Mothman. Had to raise his kid sister. Orphan.

Jinlong: Parents were killed in the Great Dragon Hunts and only survived them by pretending to be human and getting adopted by a human family who didn't know he was a dragon. Outlived his human family and had to watch them grow old without him. Fell asleep for 2000 years.

Asterius: A young god raised believing he was a demigod. At 13 discovered he was destined to aid in the Apocalypse. Ran away from his home and got adopted by the man destined to kill him.

Vince: Killed by his father to become the undead champion of the Lich God his father worshiped in secret. The ritual was intentionally botched because the necromancer doing it worked for Skadumire. His body was left in a ditch. Came back wrong and with most of his memories gone.

Aranea: Her father was murdered for his research, Aranea was kidnapped by her father's murderers and made to fill the role of Izebel's "sister". Stole Excalibur and got flung into a random forest on Earth.

Alexios is a son of Kepus, Goddess of Life and he is known far and wide as the Savior of the Rim. After over a thousand years of battles, Alexios is just about sick of prophecies and fighting and has become a pacifist. Unfortunately, he still must face off against the Mother of the Apocalypse and the Beast of the Crypt if he wants to save the world. However that just got a little more complicated now that he has to balance his divine duties with raising his newly adopted son.

Akira Akamatsu is the main protagonist, but somehow not the main character, of Array of Cicadas. Akira is a young elemental mage from Genesis who is trying very hard to pass off as a simple fire mage because she REALLY wasn't into the idea of having to move in with a family of dragons. After the death of her older sister Takara, Akira gave up a life of magic to study psychology on Terra. Unfortunately for her, two years later her past would catch up with her. Now she finds herself lost in the realm of Hveske with nothing but her family's heirloom and a young Hveskian boy to guide her

Karma Gjalleon is the main antagonist of Array of Cicadas. A descendant of the Hveskian Dragon Goddess Gjalleon, Karma was raised with the impression she would always be in her mother's shadow. She soon realized this was nothing more than her mother's ego and ran away as a teenager to hone her own power. Years later she returned and challenged the current King of Hveske to a Rite of Power, an ancient Hveskian tradition that ensures the most powerful being in the realm is always seated on the thrown via trial by combat. Infuriated that her daughter thought herself above her, Hilgamesh Gjalleon, challenged Karma to her own Rite of Power the moment Karma seized the throne. Karma swiftly defeated her mother, but placed her honor on the line to do so. After desecrating the name of a Goddess, the Dragon Gods decided to abandon Hveske. A few hundred years into her reign as Regent of Hveske, Karma would follow suit in search of the gods that abandoned her. Now, no one really knows what happened to the lost regent, but rumors have been spreading across the universe of a powerful being known as the Regicidal Regent.

Lazarus Volaan, the ONLY video game OC that made her way onto this poll! Lazarus is known as Young Wolf, Slayer of Oryx, Hero of the the Red War, you get the picture. More importantly, she's the leader of Fireteam Ophiuchus, a group consisted of guardians, eliksni, and mortals alike to create a pretty mismatched group dedicated to fighting back against the enemies of humanity. Prior to her death, Lazarus was a corsair in the Dreaming City who left with many other awoken to aid humanity after the Collapse. She managed to befriend a couple members of the House of Devils against all odds, but was eventually cut down by House of Kings. Lazarus may not be the same person she was in life, but she's managed to reconnect with some of those old friends. Always by her side is her trusty Ghost, Howl, who might be a little anxious about how quickly his Guardian picked up wielding Darkness, but with growing distrust for the Traveler, would rather but his faith in her than a god who would abandon them.

Serendipity Grace Vulcan is one of the protagonists in Array of Cicadas: Cryptadia. A young vampire adopted by one of the great vampire houses after losing her family as a young child, Serendipity is to peruse the family trade of magic. However, a unique condition makes is neigh impossible for her to use her own magic without hurting herself, so she must turn to Alchemy instead. She takes up apprenticeship under Master Alchemist James Emperor in the town of Adderdeen where she gets caught up in many wild adventures.

Devan Ranim, beloved little boy and main character of Array of Cicadas. He's traveling across the realm of Hveske to find the Sword of Gjalleon to defeat an evil Empire that threatens the universe.

Jinlong, the main character of Shifting Stars and Moving Mountains. Jinlong grew up during the Great Dragon Hunt and lost both his parents. To evade dragon hunters, Jinlong took human form and was taken in by a human family that raised him as one of their own. Two thousand years and the longest nap ever, Jinlong has to relearn what it means to be a dragon in a society that has changed more than he could've imagined.

Ophelia Pendragon wasn't always her name, but she found it rather fitting after what started as a normal hike in the mountains around her hometown Adderdeen resulted in her finding none other than the legendary sword Excalibur embedded in a boulder. Now chosen by the sword, Ophelia finds herself caught up in a world she never new existed, one of magic and mystery. Here's hoping one of the mysteries she solves is where the hell her girlfriend Akira disappeared to.

Salem "Mothman" Graves is one of four protagonists of Array of Cicadas: Cryptadia. Beloved local radio show host of Adderdeen's own Nightwatch, a morning show dedicated to documenting and informing the public on the supernatural phenomena often found in Adderdeen, but the true purpose of it being to dissuade average citizens from seeking out such dangerous things. Outside of his job at the radio station, Salem is also a mortician, monster hunter, and part time cryptid. Ten years ago, Salem wasn't actually known as the Mothman, but after a truly bizarre and still unexplainable death of the forest spirit Astrogagoth, this is the form Salem finds himself in. Being half human and half spirit, Salem has an ability to take human form, something most spirits are incapable of. He uses his power as a spirit to defend humans and magical beings alike from the malevolent monsters that would wish them harm. However before he is a guardian of humans, beasts, and spirits, he is the guardian of his little sister Rian.

Chaos, once known by the name Ataxia, was created by the deity Mechanus out of their desire to bring back the original war hero Ataxia. Although raising the dead is impossible for anyone other than the Goddess of life and death, Mechanus became content in the fact they had managed to create a living being. However human children need not be raised by gods, so Mechanus simply left the young child at the doorstep of one ex-demigod and his family. Alexios loved Ataxia as much as he loved his daughter Eudoxia, all of them were a happy and simple family. At the time, Alexios may have been mortal, but he was still often called upon to fight. The last time Alexios fought as a mortal, his village was attacked by a disciple of the Goddess of Deceit, Ataxia's mother and sister were killed in their father's absence and Ataxia themself was left on lady death's door. Mechanus tore through the town to retrieve the child they considered theirs, deciding it was a mistake to trust humans to care for something so precious. They rebuilt Ataxia as a demigod and raised them in the Apparatus. Ataxia donned the name Chaos and after mastering their power of time manipulation, returned to the surface in search of answers as to what happened to their father. They didn't expect to learn they had a new younger brother on the way, or for him to be the fated Beast of the Crypt.

Sage Ragnormr is a particularly ancient dragon, over 10,000 years old. He is one of fourteen Dragon Sages from Terra that managed to survive the Great Dragon Hunt. After the hunts ended, he met a young sorceress with great promise, but no one to train her. He took the girl in, discovering quickly that her mother, Kirke, was the one responsible for the hunts. Despite this, he allowed her to remain under him as his pupil. When the other Sages discovered this, they banished him from the newly formed Dragon Council of Genesis. He now lives in exile and does his best to avoid fellow dragons, but it's not been going so well.

Caelum Ketch, main character of Cache of Sybaris and one of a couple dozen remaining survivors of a lost alien species. Ketch was raised by a grew of pirates that is now seeking out the lost treasure of one of the most notorious pirate crews in the Sybaris Galaxy.

The poster boys have two very different attitudes about supporting their loved ones in the finals.

Izebel Lucifer Walpurgis is a homunculus created by Kirke and the Alchemist Avila Lupei with the purpose of ruling Kirke's empire as a figurehead. Izebel takes her duty as Empress very seriously, despite barely being a teenager. She spends her days honing her magical power with the desire of becoming stronger than her mother and becoming someone powerful enough that no one will ever want to abandon her again, especially her "sister" Aranea.

Kirke, or Circe, depending on who your asking, yes that one. Kirke was a student of the Archwitch Alexandria, but despite her status as a daemon, was not the Archwitch's star pupil. Over time, jealousy and greed found it's way into Kirke's heart and she began using her power for vile deeds. She whispered tales of the power of the blood and bones of dragons to the kings and emperors of the land, leading to the Great Dragon Hunt. The Archwitch eventually found out Kirke as the center of all the destruction and sought to put an end to it. The result of the battle between teacher and student was Kirke being imprisoned on a island and all magic being ripped from humanity's hands and safely sealed in the newly created realm of Genesis.
