I remember back when I thought "more than just friends" wasn't about lifting romantic relationships above platonic, it was just stating the obvious of. "Dating=friends+in love", aka "friends+sth else" aka "more than just friends". Because. Every relationship is fundamentally built on liking the other person as a friend,,, and if you like them as a friend and sth else then you date, right?? Right???

....nope, turns out some date people they hate, and this phrase is commonly used to put down platonic relationships in our amatonormative hellscape. Which is such a shame!! It would be such a simple phrase to describe complexities of relationships! "No, we're not really just friends [in the traditional sense], we're more than friends." Some are my family, some are blurring line between traditionally romantic and platonic, some are rivals, some nemeses,,,

And then there are some cases that are just friends. Like my lavender marriage friend who is purely platonic in the most simple possible way. No he is not my boyfriend. He's too gay for that. Stop asking us that. We're literally just friends. All platonic no complications.

I wish I could engage with the Midst / Unend fandom. I would love to see fanart and people talking about it. But people are posting about early access spoilers without marking that in the post, only putting "#unend spoiler" which seems to be completely interchangeable with just. Hey this has mention of important plot relevant stuff.

At least have the decency to be like those few I've seen doing the "Early access ep xyz under cut" thing like comon. I literally can't look at art because of you. Though I don't even know why I try engage with fandom atp.

I was very worried about the ice akkus melting (it's blazing outside and I have a heat-sensitive rabbit do manage public transport with..) AND THEY WERE SUPER NICE about it and immediately went "yes ofc ofc!!" and put them in a freezer for me while we're here I am saved

Last Song: Never Love an Anchor by Crane Wives. Rarely listen to them but it got stuck in my head cuz I was having a Day™

Last Movie: uuuhhhhh. Titanic, I think? For the first time ever. Back in september with @mapo-leon on our trip. 3/10 didn't enjoy it. (First half was alright, not a huge fan of romance, Second half was horrible, reminds me why I avoid disaster films. Worth watching once cuz it's a classic.)

Currently Watching: Docm77's HermitCraft S10 series. It's silly and fun, and excellent background noise considering every video is over an hour long, perfect for art and hw. If that doesn't count uh. I semi-recently finished Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, waiting for S2. Oh and Twin Peaks S2 also with @mapo-leon back in september.

Currently Reading: Just finished A Herceg Jósnője by J. Goldenlane!! (The Prince's Fortune teller) It's a fantasy-ish book about an anthropology+literature nerd getting stranded in a completely foreign country and being forced to fake being a fortune teller in a super superstitious land to survive. Barely lucky enough to be trapped by the prince her country was negotiating with, so she doesn't starve on the streets.. Instead, she's dealing with the Pain In The Ass political elite! AND IT'S NOT A ROMANCE STORY! .....sadly all J. Goldenlane books only exist in hungarian. :') Next I'm gonna be beta reading a friend's book-length story. Its concept literally floored me, and the intricate worldbuilding.... Yeah.

Current Obsession: I would be lying if I didn't say OCs... But also, J. Goldenlane, always Goldenlane (this year I completed my collection of her novels. Now I'm gonna start collecting the different editions.) Also TTRPG characters from campaigns the VTM, Mothership and Paranoia I share with @blue-cat-shitposts! And like. All previous obsessions coexisting, Mechs, Dimension20, other artists' OCs, sona AUs with @mapo-leon, etc,, just look at my blog xD

Last song: Umm well I was just playing Mahjong Soul so technically the last song was some really tacky riichi music. The Fox the Crow, and the Cookie by meWithoutYou seems to be the last in my spotify though.

Last movie: I don't think I've watched a movie in a shockingly long time -- possibly it was Femme (2023) which I saw in June? amazing movie though, incredible work if you can stomach it.

Currently watching: I just watched Gotham Chess' recap of Game 5 of the 2024 World Chess Championship. Besides that, Lost (ABC, 2004) and I'm planning to watch Dynamite this week :)

Currently reading: Crooked Cucumber by David Chadwick, a biography of Shunryu Suzuki. Loving it!

Current obsession: Kinda between obsessions really? I would say Lost but unfortunately my husband does not have the time to watch it at a pace which maintains the brainrot. I uh, admittedly can feel myself sliding back into the Jaykada hole >:)

Thoughts on potatoes? Any types of potatoes you wish, they’re very versatile

Potatoes are very texture. Which is nice. They're a little bland, but like in a way that's literally perfect as a base for anything so yknow

Favourites would probably be those teeeny tiny young ones you can fry in a pan whole and it's heavenly. Most frequently eaten is probably mashed potatoes (mixed with rice. Idk it just makes sense to me.) Least liked... Plain cooked potatoes.

Also, very oily wich tends to upset my stomach nowadays but Rakott Krumpli aka layered potatoes is one of the best dishes ever (some moots that met w me up can confirm). It's potatoes, sausage, and egg slices in layers, salted in-between, topped w bacon and/or sour cream and then baked

Also hungarians have a hilarious amount of names for potato. Probably more than I know off the top of my head. Krumpi, burgonya, pityóka, kolompér etc etc

One that tried their best to get away, to get a better life, to get the power to protect and take care of their younger sibling.... Yet was used and thrown even deeper into shit and now has to figure out everything from the ashes as their life burned, the night their Enemy

And one to whom the night has always been a Friend, unexpected and insulting but not something to be hated

And the two of them make such a good combo!!! Like. Samogon the big and strong and loud but still nice in their way and Norn the observant the silent and cold, they're perfect complementaries and I literally live for their friendship istg
