Just because he was on vacation didn’t mean Scamp was going to drop the ball on his fitness routines. Rounding up a five mile beach run just as the sun began peeking over the horizon, he decided to sit and enjoy the view to cool down before heading back to the hotel. The last few days had been unexpected, exciting, emotional, and full of ups and downs that he hadn’t properly reflected on amid the constant company of the only woman to occupy his thoughts as of late.
Normally when he needed to work through his thoughts Scamp turned to his father but he had been elusive with his parents in regards to Danica, for reasons even he hadn’t put his finger on yet. There was only one person Scamp knew to be dedicated enough to his craft to be conscious at this time anyway and he easily pulled out his phone to dial one of the few numbers he had committed to memory.
“Morning, Nash,” the growing smile was evident in his tone already, eager to settle into the grounded feeling of home that came with the sound of his cousin’s voice. “Hope I’m not interrupting practice.”

As the players of the Falmouth Falcons, both new and old, milled around the pitch, adjusting their gear and getting ready for the intensive practice ahead, Detlev approached the new but still familiar teammate among the ranks.
“Broadmoor! Good to see you here,” Detlev approached Nash with a hand extended to clap together with his, more in a gesture of solidarity than an actual shake.
“What are the odds of us ending up on the same team after all those years trying to knock each other off our game, huh?” He chuckled, truly light heartedly despite how fiercely they trained to outdo one another’s strategies back in the day.

The drama with which Amara collapses onto her cousin’s bed immediately upon entering Margo’s room rivals that of the truest Broadmoor. The accompanying groan is just garnish. When she rolls over to look at Margo, it’s to throw her arms out in the older girl’s direction and tell her, “It’s great to see your beautiful face considering this is the only proper social interaction I’ll ever have again.”
