Leilani isn’t thrilled to leave the Shiverpeaks and her family, for Pact Missions... but at least she has her brother Amwyl with her during her time in the Jungle.

What to do with a succulent mold? Make sylvari soap. Here’s my boy Amwyl, scented with chamomile and bergamot.

Ohh oc friend thing! I wonder if any of yours would enjoy being friends with Amwyl. He loves to cook and spoil his friends with big meals. Despite being pretty scatter brained he’s a very attentive listener and really enjoys learning about history. And he’d definitely try to drag his friends off on some impromptu adventures.

I read "enjoys learning about history" and instantly thought of Rel! Rel's a big nerd (I say this very affectionately, as I am too) and loves both history and the ability to talk about it with other people. He can't cook very well, though he knows the basics, and he'd really appreciate the meals. He might be a bit of a grump sometimes about the adventures, but only at first and only a little--he would enjoy them a bunch but also be a potentially needed source of caution when required. I think they'd be pretty good friends, actually! :D

I feel like it’s been forever since I asked about Lea, so! 💐🌳and ☄️

Rapunzel Rapunzel elt your hair down~ 💐 How does your OC handle being unwell or forced to rest in bed? Who cares for them and in what ways? Does your OC enjoy being doted on or are they a terrible patient? Reversed: is your OC good at taking care of others who are ill or in need?

He of course would stay in bed to get well as soon as possible...Well maybe just taking short trips to get new books. He enjoys getting doted on by Amwyl but not really by others, however, he would and is doting on everyone and takes care of them so they can get better as soon as possible too. Sometimes a little more forcibly so with Amwyl since he is such an energetic person.

🌳 What is your OC’s favourite way to relax after a stressful day? Do they have a favourite book to curl up with? A hobby? Or do they have a nice bubble bath and have an early night to bed?

Reading, reading, reading all the way. Reading new books, reading old favourites, reading and taking notes for the students, reading for Amwyl, reading in the bath, reading while snacking on the tasty snacks Amwyl made.

☄️ Does this OC deserve better treatment from you? Do you make them suffer just a little bit too much? Be nice to them!

He is one of the least suffered children..well maybe I could have let him not meet the court but he did..a little trauma just to show I care <3

🌹 Where in the world does your OC feel most at home? Is there any reason why? If it’s not the place they were born, where were they born? Is there a certain somebody that makes them feel at home where ever they may be? What does home mean to them?

Amwyl feels most at home… pretty much anywhere. He’s great at making himself feel comfortable in a space, and he’s got a big enough personality to make any space his own. There’s a special feeling when he’s back at the Grove with Lea, though. That’s his favorite, forever home.

Bearach is the opposite. He’s never really felt at home anywhere. Nowhere pulls at him, or holds any special meaning. Places are just places. But when he’s with Finnas, that’s the closest he’s ever felt to having a home.

🌻 What little things do they notice about people or the world around them that make them happy? What tiny little treasures do they find in the normal every day that makes the world seem a little brighter for them?

Amwyl’s a real social butterfly, and he really just loves to listen to people go on about the things they enjoy. His attention might wane in the middle of it, but he loves seeing people light up when they’re talking about something important to them.

Bearach is again pretty opposite. He finds a lot of peace and happiness in solitude, wherever he can find it. Just the quiet of a moment alone, the stillness of a room or a space with no one in it — he treasures that.

💫What is your favourite fact about this character and why?

I love how upbeat Amwyl is, and how he never lets anything get him down for long. Things can be rough, but he knows it won't last forever and good things are just ahead.

For Bearach, I really love how stable and steady he is. Unshakeable. Finally an area where he’s similar to Amwyl; they both take things head on and make it through. I guess for both I like it because I want to be like that too, I want to feel that confidence everything will work out if I just keep forging ahead.

🍄 What are your OCs favourite snacks? Their favourite comfort food which always cheers them up when they’re down? Favourite meal to make? Do they enjoy baking and cooking and are they any good in the kitchen? Amwyl loves to cook and bake! He’s actually pretty darn good at it too, and likes to experiment with new recipes. His favorite things to make are always sweet: cakes, scones, candies. Lately he’s been making lots of fish though, because, you know. Fishing.

🍂 Does your OC enjoy hugs? What do they do as a show of affection for: their friends, their family, their significant other(s) or for strangers? Over all what are they like with recieving affection from others? Amwyl is a real big hugger. He loves to hug people, lift them up from their feet, squeeze tight, maybe spin them around a bit. He’s definitely very physically affectionate with his family and friends. With Lea it’s even more so, Amwyl always wants to be touching him somehow, whether just holding his hand of picking him up and holding him close.

💐 How does your OC handle being unwell or forced to rest in bed? Who cares for them and in what ways? Does your OC enjoy being doted on or are they a terrible patient? Reversed: is your OC good at taking care of others who are ill or in need? He is very bad at staying still, so doesn’t make the best patient. I imagine Lea does his best to keep him in bed and care for him, but Amwyl always wants to be getting up and helping. He likes to take care of other people, though, at least by making them soup or treats.

🌼 Who are this characters friends and found family? How did they meet, how long have they been friends for, could they ever be something more than just friends? What do they look for in a friend or a romantic partner? Leilani ( @cousinslavellan ) is like his big sister, they’ve known each other for most of Amwyl’s life. Nettle is one of his closest friends, and he goes to him for advice a lot. And of course Lea is pretty much his best friend and his partner. Amwyl likes all sorts of people, but especially ones who have interests of their own and like to share information about them!

Amwyl: Sylvari Renegade, created February 22, 2019. Optimistic, outgoing, energetic, and owner of the biggest heart and emptiest head. Pact solider and priory explorer. 

Maple Ulvdottir: Norn Renegade, created December 22, 2020. Reserved, solitary, thoughtful, and prone to wandering off alone for days at a time. Forager and herbal medicine supplier, soon to be Commander.

Happy 2nd birthday to my first character and the boy with the biggest heart and emptiest head. I might not use Amwyl much at the moment, but he’ll always be around.

Amwyl - Joy

His fingers were coated with honey, somehow more stuck on his skin than in the bowl on the counter. He resisted the urge to lick them — that’d be unsanitary, or so he’d been told — and instead rubbed them on the cloth of the apron tied to his waist. It didn’t accomplish much, but he was already on to his next task, sticky fingers forgotten.

He poured hot water over a pile of dried leaves and needles that smelled like flowers, courtesy of Nettle, and set two mugs on the table. Already placed were plates of scones and buttered cookies, and a small platter of tarts topped with roasted vegetables and herbs. There were even napkins, folded as neatly as he had the patience for, tucked nearby two sets of silverware.

“Perfect,” he congratulated himself, and absently ran his hand through his hair, the fronds sticking up higher thanks to a generous coating of honey still on his fingers. All that was left to do now was to wait for his dearheart to stumble out of bed and into the kitchen, where breakfast was so lovingly and joyfully laid out.

Kiora - Summer

She had grown accustomed to the cold. Traveling the North quickly tossed thoughts of warmth and comfort from her mind. It was no matter to her; Kiora would adapt and survive wherever she needed to be, and for long months the far mountain ranges were exactly that.

Now, the world somewhat settled for a brief time, she found herself back in sunlight that warmed her skin instead of froze, and air that was moist and thick. She breathed in, her dark eyes shutting out the view of the waves in front of her. The smell of salt tickled her nose, and a rare turn of her lips into a smile softened her expression.

This was still far from home — a place she vowed never to return — but it was comforting, and familiar in a way she realized now she sorely missed.
