solution for eke just being way too feral and uncharismatic (5 cha. lol) to be high primate. body double!!! enaza/“the dark urge”, he/they & a socradin. i had this image of zeke being way too dangerous and unpredictable to expose to the masses of the cult, so he’s treated as a sort of novelty secret only the most devout members get to know about. so, 95% of the cult only knows this public face. very soon after sceleritas found zeke after murdering his ‘adoptive’ parents, they realised that zeke was extremely unfit for the role and raised them for it instead—a half-drow child about 5 years older than zeke. they were denied their birthname, but got a new one from gortash (enaza means ‘spear’ in alzhedo. at first you think oh how clever they’re a spear user. but it’s really a play on them being a spear in gortash’s hand to further reach & hurt zeke) as they are the one who started working with gortash & eventually ketheric on the absolute plan a few years after gortash & zeke met, and gortash refuses to call them ‘the dark urge’, because that’s a title only reserved for his archnemesis and not some inferior imposter (obviously doesn’t say that to their face tho lol). their actual character is still a bit mushy in my brain, but i know that they also harbour deep resentment towards zeke, so they super duper don’t care about zeke’s uhm. worsening physical & mental state. he’s in because of gort when they see him every other year or something lmao. there’s a lot of shit happening in my brain that i need to sort, and i’m not even sure if i’ll keep this idea exactly like this so. idk lol brainstorming time i suppose

if you put aside gortash’s awful manipulation, deceit, etc etc and the fact that he executes them in one of the most horrid ways imaginable in act 3 there is something funny about the gort & enaza dynamic. guy who genuinely thinks they are friendly colleagues with a casual mentor/mentee thing being the closest thing to any power dynamics between them while gort sees him as like. a really stupid dog at best. incredible

brain evil 2 me so. ramble time. enaza and zeke’s main feelings towards each other are both just deep deep envy in different ways. enaza hates zeke. enaza wishes they could be zeke and at the same wouldn’t hate anything more than that. cue gort asking them why they are still dying their hair in act 3 during the game (enaza basically gets sacked by the temple after zeke disappears and doesn’t need a body double anymore + their actual hair colour is white in contrast to zeke’s auburn)

imagining a scene between enaza and gort, enaza making some sort of off-handed comment about being way more deserving of the true ‘dark urge’ title as well, and gort’s just like. i know he’d pretend to have a laughing fit and then suddenly show them his true core for the first time, the harsh and cold aura of domination and conquest of the machine, and starts choking them. when they start begging for forgiveness with all the air they have left and kneeling in front of him when he drops them to the ground, they realise the lesson that was being taught that evening.

if i was in the mood for drawing this would be easier but enaza and zeke have some visible differences in physique, so even if they were wearing the same clothes and hairstyle you could still tell them apart with a keen eye. so, let's just move the fact that zeke is so sickly thin through stress and malnutrition & the gazillion scars aside for now and focus on the face. zeke has a much larger and upturned in contrast to enaza's still long, but smaller and a lot more downturned nose. zeke's general profile is also very moon-shaped, while enaza's isn't. zeke also has acne well into adulthood. enaza just has freckles, while zeke also has a couple, enaza has a lot more. zeke also has a big unibrow. then of course. the eyes. zeke's eyes are eerily large, and the colour is insanely inhuman y'know. that's the most obvious one i think. pic attached under the cut. but yeah even if you aren't gort who has dissected eke inside and out you could tell them apart if you pay attention lmao

to be fair gort really does have no strong or feelings at all about them. it’s truly like someone using an wrench that they can’t replace right now for whatever reason but they are so ready to trash it once the opportunity arises lol

also while we’re on the topic of proto zeke… a lot of his original personality traits went to enaza instead after zeke became a developed character which i think is very funny on a meta level
