Day 38/100 #the100dayproject The first day of spring just passed on the 20th and at the @carlemuseum it’s #theveryhungrycaterpillar day. I decided to make my own hungry caterpillar 🐛 using papers from my #collagepaper stash. I recently got the book #artisttoartist23majorillustratorstalktochildrenaboutart and was fascinated by all the wonderful information it holds including pictures like those shown here of Mr. Carle working on the very hungry caterpillar. I love watching artists at work because there is always so much to learn. I’m still trying to find my own style, so I like to re-create what others have done every now and then to see what I learn. Also, it was just a way to get in touch with one of my favorite times of the year when I was teaching. Watching the butterfly lifecycle each year never got old. I miss watching the wonder on my preschoolers faces as the caterpillars transformed and then releasing them, so much fun.
