Offline Valor Masterpost
The only survivor of his desolated clan, the infamous Borrower kingslayer and assassin Rowan the Last is on the run from forces unknown. Dropped from the jaws of death, he falls into the hands of the chaotic pink-haired streamer Human Zelly Klouse-Calloway who gives him a simple promise: “you can trust me.”
Betrayal, love, war, memes, and more. Take a seat, o’ reader mine, and listen to the tale of Offline Valor.
Offline Valor:
Chapter 1 - (Word Count 3324):  A wounded assassin, a self-care trip to Starbucks, and the world’s hottest potato chip. Zelly’s life just got a lot more complicated.
Chapter 2 - (Word Count 3590): Wracked by the haunting memories of his past, Rowan wakes up in Zelly’s care. But is this a titan a friend or foe to the Breaker of Crowns?
Chapter 3 - (Word Count 3874): Burdened with responsibility and grappling with her new reality, Zelly tries to best figure out how to help Rowan. Meanwhile, across town a pair of thieves plan their next heist…
Chapter 4 - (Word Count 5250): Both Borrower and Human takes steps into the unknown–neither know what direction to take. All they can do is enjoy some Greek food and learn a bit more about one another.

Do you have any random facts about your characters that are just too random to put into 1 post? I'm a baby creator still not knowing a lot about my own works yet so it's really interesting to see creators knowing their characters more in depth. Basically, a fact dump of your characters would be very much appreciated! 😳
SCREAM oh you're so sweet fr 😭 bless you @smolcomfycat
AAAAAAAH okay so I'm using this as a self-indulgent "it's my birthday so I'm just gonna ramble about my blorbos because they make my heart sparkle", so find everything you'd like to know below the cut 💜
(if y’all have any additional questions, feel free to shoot an Ask! This is just kinda of the top of the iceberg of what I could ramble regarding kdaflsjkgfjd)
-Freyja's jersey number 26 is in reference to my birthday:)
-Freyja & Alice’s ship name is Herbeau
-Rowan & Zelly’s ship name is Rolly
-Zelly's inspiration was taken largely from the fact I was really into watching Twitch/was fascinated with Streamer culture during 2020-22.
-Zelly swears like a sailor, so sorry you’ll never see me actually write that lol
-Both Zelly & Rowan were born outside of the continental U.S. in Offline Valor.
-Like Freyja, her sisters all have names taken from Norse mythology.
-Freyja asked out Alice first, but after a few dates Alice was the one who eventually ask if he could kiss her.
-Freyja loves to rock climb.
-Freyja focuses better when she has something to fidget with.
-Alice went as unnamed for more than 6 months. Originally he was just called Freyja’s “little beau” which helped prompt the eventually surname Beauchamp.
-Alice is a musical theatre kid! He’s been in three productions and was the lead in one of them as well.
-Genesis Day and Kaiju!Freyja really came a from common complaint regarding Kaiju/Giant Monster movies and how the human element is always the weakest/most boring. So I decided to blend the elements of the Human & the Monster to really dissect and peel back some new themes and dynamics. (plus I also discovered some things about myself during the course of designing her Kaiju form. ...no, why do you ask if I'm a monsterfu-)
-Alice was designed with the central color of lavender and purple in mind, and that was back when I only owned a single dark purple shirt which was too small for me. Now I have two lavender hoodies, and several lavender and purple shirts/button-downs. Honestly it was an experiment to have Alice wear lavender before me because I really wanted to ALLOW myself to love that color, and now I can't separate myself from it.
-Zelly’s full first name is Zelda. She was named after Zelda Fitzgerald however, and not after Princess Zelda. She grew up being called Zelda by her parents but once she got older and expressed an interest in streaming she started to go by Zelly because she thought it was incredibly cringe for a video gamer to be seemingly named after a fictional character.
-Freyja is canonically built like Lusia from Encanto, and now it's so much easier to explain to people what Freyja's shape language is for commissions and such. 😭
-Rowan was taught how to dance by Princeps Lazuli before their falling out. He can still dance, but is sheepish about it.
-Rowan was adopted by Clan Ash when he was roughly 8 or 9 and was raised by a woman named Thistle, who is the sister of Oleander. There's some spoilers as to Thistle's role within the Clan, but I love her<3
-Oleander was instructed by Clan Ash’s leader, Lowlord Yucca, to train Rowan how to fight and kill when he was roughly 11 or so.
-When designing Lazuli, I wanted the main color of their house be a dark turquoise because I remember my Mom wearing a lot of turquoise jewelry growing up. So my brain automatically associates turquoise with finery and royalty.
-When designing Maura I knew I didn’t want her to fall into the “popular plastic” trope. Rather, I wanted her to be the “sweater vest wearing, smiley business major going to Sunday School who no one would suspect is utterly toxic and manipulative.” I think the specific wording that came to mind was “viper in sheep’s clothing.”
-In AUs where Freyja is a Human (namely Offline Valor/Borrower!AU & Emotional Shifter!Alice AU), she rides a motorcycle and does a lot of mechanic work for her family and friends.
-Rowan’s main titles--Unmowable, Crownbreaker, Matchside--come from three separate instances of his direct involvement in stopping coups/takeovers of different kingdoms within the area. He earned the first and third titles thanks to attempts on his life, while the second--arguably the most famous epithet--is the most recent, and was earned after disposing the last tyrannical monarch of the greater area roughly two or three years ago when he was 23.
-The inspiration for Rust comes from my childhood love of powerful, masked brutes/bounty hunters whose faces you might never ever see or you'd never hear speak.
-There is deeply sentimental feelings for Rowan regarding his cloak (which is, in fact, a cloth that's used to clean glasses).
-Rust isn’t a full-blooded Borrower.
-Fireteam Griffin was my first attempt to really include new AU-centric OCs for Genesis Day & the Kaiju!AU. Because I knew that the story would start off with Maura & Alice together (and Alice purposefully isolated from other friends as a result), so I wanted Freyja her own friends that weren't tied solely to Alice. Inspired by other ensemble casts (Power Rangers, Voltron, the original Halo novels), I wanted Freyja to have a small cast of pseudo-siblings. I ended up loving the dynamics of Ekland, Williams, Delgado, and Hunter SO much that they're now going to be included into the University!AU as the "Griffin House" and will all play different sports and be besties with Freyja. Sergeant Buck will also be in GTU but will be a professor and maybe the Griffin House act as his research assistance or somethin’.

19 for Rust
OH HO HO FIRST RUST QUESTION? Yes please, thank you Kelly 💖
Taken from OC Interview Questions List
"19. Describe an average day in your life."
Rust didn't reply immediately to the question, but instead set her bag down on the bottle cap coffee table as she stepped in through the threshold. The low murmur of Main Street rose up fill the silence in this hole-in-the-wall home. The stale, musky air hung heavy as she wordlessly tugged on the latches of her gloves.
Finally, she replied: "Survive--that's my 'average day.'"
The gloves were unceremoniously tossed to the side and the helmet yanked off as she meanders towards the meager kitchenette--she paused only briefly to hang the helmet up on a nail. Her half-hearted answer is awkwardly vague, but she seemed to be ignoring that fact as she pulled a mug out of the cupboard--it was made of some bleached white material. Bone, perhaps?
She shot a glance to the Asker, and after nearly a full minute of stillness her lip finally gave way to a slight sneer.
"Fine," she snorted as she ran her fingers through her shaggy mohawk. "I'm Lord Vespid's chief enforcer--he wants something done, I do it. Doesn't matter if it's Borrower, Toy, or Human--he points the gun, I pull the trigger. I don't need anything else."
There's a bit of hesitation in her countenance, but she quickly hides it as she rummages around for a bottle of something strong. She finally pulled out a plastic jug that looks like it once belonged to some toy pirate set--its filled with a spirit that could be best described as liquified grass.
"Now scram."

Rust & Ruin
GT July 2022 Masterpost: Day 3 - Panic
NOTE: this is considered non-canon and originally meant to be an introduction post for my OC Rust back in July. I plan to revisit, rework, and incorporate this fight into Offline Valor proper in the future.
---
[Borrower!AU]
Word Count: 1761
CW: Blood, violence, graphic injury
Rowan the Last was hurled through the scalding waterfall.
He hit the curved slope of the ceramic basin shoulder first, and heard a loud POP followed by a flash of searing pain. The muscles in his shoulder spasmed and a tingling numbness crept up his neck and down his arm as he felt he could no longer move that arm.
He gritted his teeth and hissed out a strained scream as pain flashed behind his eyelids. He’d fought with a dislocated shoulder before, but not in a confrontation quite like this.
He slid down the back of the sink’s slick basin with a pained groan. His drenched cloak offered very little by way of traction, but he couldn’t afford to lay and linger with his pain for long. He wasn’t alone in the bathroom after all. Soaking wet and veins bulging from his forehead, Rowan forced himself to roll over just in time as the assailant leapt through the column of cascading tap water after him.
She was a massive, broad shouldered woman with tanned biceps covered in geometric tattoos. She wore piecemeal armor that was cannibalized from the bodies of various Transformer Toyfolk. She also wore chunks of reinforced armored plating from Court of Wires’ Hot Wheels war machines and was adorned with fangs of various lengths and leather taken from the scaly hide of the titanic rattlesnake.
Somehow, Rowan wouldn’t have been surprised if the woman took down the fanged behemoth with her own two hands.
The bounty hunter landed and the ceramic cracked and buckled beneath her impact. Rowan stared in horror as he awkwardly rolled up into a kneeling position. No Borrower should be that strong–even the most hulking of metallic Toyfolk couldn’t break a sink’s surface with their strongest blow.
With one arm out of commission and down two daggers, he reached into his boot to draw out a third. He licked his lips nervously. His adrenaline was pumping and his heart was racing. He wasn’t going into shock yet, so that meant he had precious few minutes to deal with this bounty hunter before things got worse. He’d been able to work with far less in a shorter amount of time. Still, there was something incredibly different about this goliath. The unfamiliarity unnerved him.
The woman stood to her full height–easily standing three heads taller. She reached up and yanked one of Rowan’s daggers from the meat of her trapezius with little fanfare. The thumb tack’s blade was slick with her blood. She examined the gore through the tinted visor of an expressionless helmet. Rowan recognized the design–it was a heavily modified version of the helmets worn by the Royal Knights of House Silver.
“...what are you?” Rowan finally asked over the roaring falls. And though the steam from the facet’s outpouring felt relaxing, it made it rather difficult to breathe and speak in the heat of combat.
“You’ll never know.” the woman replied, her deep unfamiliar accent echoing through her helmet. She finally looked up from the bloodied blade and charged.
As her muscular legs cleared the distance with relative ease, Rowan attempted to dance to the side; however, he found that the wet basin made it impossible to move as deftly as he would like. He tried moving to the left, but quickly found the goliath moving to cut him off.
Rowan went for the jugular, but the woman caught the blade in her hand. Blood started to run down from her grasp as she just held it there tightly–not refusing to let go. Before Rowan had a chance to react, she plunged the commandeered dagger she had pulled from her shoulder deep into the Crownbreaker’s gut. Rowan grunted as his eyes widened in a mix of horror, pain, and surprise. Without hesitation, the juggernaut shoved him backwards. Rowan was powerless as he staggered back…
…and fell into the yawning, open drain.
But he didn’t go alone, as the bounty hunter willingly threw herself in after him.
Rowan was hit with an ungodly aroma of mildewy gunk and lavender soap that lined the pipe’s walls as they crossed the threshold. Gravity started to pick up as the two fell deeper and deeper. The bathroom light grew distant and the water from the facet’s run off fell like rain.
Rowan had to act fast. His heart began to pound. He knew it was going to be impossible to climb back up out of the drain with the bounty hunter still alive. And going deeper down the pipes would only cause more issues. From exploring under his beloved’s bathroom sink in the past, he noticed how the drain had a straight pipe for a number of fathoms before ending off in a curve that went up and out to the side…which meant if a Borrower hit the very bottom at full speed, it would cause serious injury. If Rowan could get on top of this freefall, and use the bounty hunter to take the brunt of the fall, hopefully he could monopolize on her dazed state to slit her throat and be done with it.
Of course, that was if the fall was enough to harm the woman. When faced against the bathroom sink, the 4 inch tall brute wasn’t the one who broke first
Still, Rowan had to try.
The two were a mess of limbs and blood as they tumbled in freefall. Rowan was trying to play more defensively; though the woman punched and elbowed him, Rowan took the blows and tried to angle the way they spun as they plummeted together.
As Rowan’s blood streaked upwards and tap water rained down, Rowan finally managed to get himself on top. His face twisted with rage and pain as he raised his thumb tack dagger and smashed the pommel over the front of her helmet. He hit over…and over…and over again…hopefully this would be enough to daze her and prevent her from squirming.
A crack spidered across the reflective, mirror-coated of her visor after the fourth hit.
The fifth impact came as the bounty hunter’s back slammed against the curve at the pipe’s bottom. But instead of her back breaking like Rowan had hoped…
…it was the pipe that broke. And then-
Through the floor, breaking through the wooden firmament that divided them from the hungering darkness of the basement below. No light followed them as they tumbled and fell in total darkness for several fathoms.
Pain was blinding Rowan now as he fell–between the dislocated shoulder, his own dagger in his stomach, and the impact of breaking through a pipe and wooden floor. The numbness around his shoulder was creeping out like spilled oil throughout his arm and neck. He felt his body beginning to shake.
He managed the strength to finally kick off the bounty hunter. He felt his body twist and lazily spin away from her; though Rowan had no idea where she might land, or if he would even survive the fall…
At that numb realization, a sobering thought crossed his mind: would Zelly ever find his body?
With no time to process, Rowan landed on a surprisingly soft surface. He bounced a few times before finally coming to a stop. Everything was screaming at him. The combination of blood loss and the dislocated shoulder were finally starting to set in like stains as Rowan’s body started to go into shock.
He could almost imagine Zelly’s massive, delicate fingers wrapping around his body…her lips brushing against his scarred, weathered back…her tinkling, angelic laugh shaking his bones…her vivacious passion…
The thought of his beloved lit something in his heart.
Rowan set his jaw…and put all his weight on his good elbow. After a strained moment of concentration, he finally got up onto his wobbly feet. The surface beneath him was soft…a mattress or a couch, perhaps? He tried taking deep gulps of air in an attempt to steady his breath and still his shaking. He’d been through worse–he could weather this.
Rowan held a hand to his bleeding gut–his fingers awkwardly cradling the colorful hilt of the thumb tack. He knew better than to yank it out. Though it was an inconvenience, he knew he’d lose more blood and potentially tear the tissue if he did. He would just need to leave it in and try to slip away before-
There was a light in the darkness: an arc of sparks followed by a newborn flame.
With the newly lit light not terribly far away, Rowan spied the hulking hunter rising to her feet. She had the source of light on her.
From the tip of her fingers up her elbow, her arm was engulfed in a cracking fire; however, she did not scream and she did not panic. Indeed, the flesh of her powerful arm seemed unscathed from the direct contact of the flame.
Through the bright flames, Rowan spied a pair of matches atop her right gauntlet with heads that glowed brightly with arcane fire. He surmised there had been some bit of armor covered over the heads to keep them dry and hidden–which is why he hadn’t noticed them before. The wooden shafts of the matches were etched with runes that glowed with a bizarre light–Pixieish, no doubt.
The woman lumbered forward.
With a movement, she crossed her fiery forearm over the other. She then dragged the bottom of the lit forearm over the top of the other arm–the draw striked the heads of the unlit pair of matches. Magical sparks flew as her second arm roared to life.
“Nice try, Crownbreaker.” the bounty hunter rumbled as she rolled her brawny shoulders. Smoke curled up from both of her fiery arms. The air shimmered with heat around her.
“But we’re not done here. Not yet.” the bounty hunter growled. Eerie light began to pour through the crack in her visor as the geometric tattoos on her massive, fiery biceps began to shift and twist like cogs in a clock. Any idea as to who or what this woman was in Rowan’s mind was immediately thrown out the window.
As she approached, Rowan had the haunting realization…
He had survived so much. He’d survived being sucked up by a lawn mower…he’d been swallowed by crows on three separate occasions…he’d been tortured by burning matches against his skin by cruel inquisitors…
He realized, all rather suddenly, that those events had definitely left him with afraid…but they never terrorized him. Not like this.
For once in his life, Rowan didn’t know what to do to survive.

Please ramble about Lazuli, Rust, and Donovan
I'd love to see your ideas about them
RAHHHHHHH, I got a few asks encouraging this, soooooo... 👉🏻👈🏻
Ask and ye shall receive 😌💖 have a few notes regarding the character conception process behind these three (dw no spoilers). Enjoy the deets for Lazuli, Rust, and Donovan below the cuuuut
LAZULI
It's important for me to have political intrigue and drama in Offline Valor--assassination plots at masquerade balls n all that. That's why the Big Bad of Offline Valor ends up being directly tied to a lot of that kind of activity; however, you have Rowan who is a scruffy, aloof, infamous war hero who isn't really the "socializing type" and Zelly who IS the social-type but is coming into this with fresh eyes as our audience surrogate.
So in comes Lazuli, princeps (a gender neutral term in Offline Valor, for the child of a reigning monarch) of House Silver. They're confident, charismatic, suave, brilliant, and not afraid to call Zelly a child to her face (despite being sixteen times smaller than the streamer). And they have a PAST with Rowan too! They were once really really really really close, but something drove them apart--now Lazuli is filled with anger and Rowan with shame. So when the Big Bad rears his ugly head, Rowan & Zelly have no choice but to go to Lazuli for assistance. But of course, Lazuli
GOSH I love Laz
RUST
Much like Lazuli, Rust was created to give Rowan a proper rival. But in this case, a physical one. A lot of my appeal with Rowan is that despite being a few inches tall, he is DEADLY and STRONG and incredibly capable. His struggle isn't "needing to do more" it's "learning to do less," and Rust helps typify that struggle. Rust is not a force that can be beat head-on. She's a Borrower, true, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have the means to take on Humans either.
And despite being the "strong, silent, masked merc" ala Boba Fett, Rust has a lot of fun conflict internally and while a lot of that will probably be explored in the Second Story for the Offline Valor setting, I plan to show off some of those quiet story elements in her character design and how Rowan & Zelly start to interact with her once they start piecing more of her story together as they try to stop her and her employer, the Big Bad.
DONOVAN
I lovingly blame my dear friend @chamomile-g-tea for this one. Parents in G/t aren't something that I've seen very often, and if they are it's just in passing. Because of that, I've really started to think about the families for my main OCs (with exception of Rowan, since a lot of his conception was already built around the family life he grew up in) but also I had the urge to make a more prominent OC (in the same vein of important as Maura, Rust, and Lazuli) who was a parent. Cue Donovan!
While she is a general in Genesis Day and a prominent member of the agency hunting down Freyja & NUVA-002, Donovan isn't afraid of breaking rules and defying orders from her superiors--and a lot of this comes from the influence of her daughter and her feelings towards the agency's mission statement as a whole. As seen briefly in the Interlude of Genesis Day, she gets impatient with protocol and arbitrary rules and is happy to overstep Director Barrus if it means saving lives.
Donovan's story is the one I'm probably MOST excited to tell. And while it is pretty Genesis Day-centric, I'm incredibly excited to start including her in more AUs too--as either a small or a big.

Do you have any voice claims for your characters?
GOSH okay. So. Great question. It’s a “yes and no.” Some of them are realllllllly tricky for me to come to a solid decision regarding. But for those who I am confident in assigning voice claims to would be:
-Lazuli: Laura Bailey (Vex'ahlia from Critical Role, but would have an American accent with that same sultry timbre)
-Rowan: Liam O'Brien
-Ekland (from Fireteam Griffin): Oscar Isaac
-Donovan: Cissy Jones
-Freyja might be able to be voiced by Emma Stone (but maybe a tad deeper), and Rust might be able to be voiced by Misty Lee (again, a tad deeper).
-Maura & Zelly are tough. Any recommendations or suggestions would be lovely!
-And finally I think we all know who would voice Alice
Anyways! Thank you SO much for the ask! Sorry it took a bit, I wanted to post Chapter 8 of Genesis Day first before I discussed Donovan!

Interest Survey
Hi y'all! I'm plopping this here to get general feedback and to gauge interest regarding some characters/AUs/prompts/scenarios/etc. that I've been puttering around with! While I do have two (three, four...) big stories planned/am working on, I do want to be able to work on a lot of smaller one-off stuff as well. But I'd LOVE to hear what y'all think! This information is anonymous and your information will not be stored/recorded beyond the answers your record!

(Vaguely applying this to GTU)
Freyja: She’d be in the middle of a dance off between her friends in Griffin and her rugby teammates. Making sure that anyone who has been drinking also gets some water and are taken care of. She’d also shoot Alice the occasional text when she’s noticed he’s stepped away from being too overstimmed from all the noise and stuff, might ask him if he wants them to step outside for a breather.
Alice: Cycling between stepping out into spaces that are quieter so he doesn’t get too overwhelmed by everything and attempting to help any of the people hosting the party to see if they need help cleaning up or prepping additional snacks of something. If this is a big party with slow dances (like a wedding or school dance or w/e) he would take that time to ask Freyja to dance.
Zelly: Depends on the type of big party. If it’s just a typical big party, she’d be right there in the middle of the dance floor and would have a couple drinks in her. But if this is some kind of streamer/video game convention where she’s had to travel, she’d absolutely be vlogging and trying to network.
Rowan: Despite hanging out at the corners of the room sipping on his drink (if it’s in Offline Valor, it’d be some kind of colorful Borrower spirits in a LEGO cup), and just people watching. He’s fascinated by the different kinds of people who go to parties.
Maura: Probably is the one throwing the party. She’s definitely making sure people are having fun, but nothing scandalous or crazy that could tarnish her name. Will put her foot down if things get a bit too out of hand. If there are people helping her throw things, she’s probably micromanaging them.
Lazuli: Dancing, flirting, spilling tea, they thrive on dances and parties though they hate ever hosting them. They’re there for the tea and drama and heart racing moments, not for more stress on their plate.
Rust: Goes because she has to, not because she wants to. Chills in the hallway, Alice probably has waved and said hi as he steps out for some air. Hunter from the Griffin squad probably is out there with her. Neither are talking, but they’re vibing.
Where is your character at a big party?

GT July 2022: Ozwynn’s Masterlist
Tumblr media
Credit goes to @gianttol for putting this wonderful prompt list together and making this all possible!
Most of these prompts will include writing that is less than 1k in length (or it might not even include writing at all! 👀) because the main goal of this was practice for me to work on shorter bit of writing, while also introducing new characters, concepts, and AU’s to my blog<3 However, I do plan to include at least one chapter of Genesis Day in the mix.
Additionally, some prompts I might skip due to health/IRL reasons, but my goal is to get ALL of these eventually filled<3 though I won’t overwork myself if that goal doesn’t seem doable.
For ease of access I will include the links to each of the days’ prompts below along with a note regarding the cast, AU, and genre and will be updated daily.

1 for zelly, 2 for rowan and 15 for your choice!!
Taken from the Soft OC Asks List!
Thank you Kelly! 💜
1. What’s something that puts them to sleep without fail?
If there’s a fan on (even just the noise of one) that’ll put her out.
2. What’s their perfect “sleeping environment”?
Ehehe.
Rowan’s perfect sleeping environment is snuggled up with Zelly. There’s also a more intimate answer to this, which I’d rather save that for when it happens in the story<3 let’s just say, Rowan will utterly melt and relax against Zelly when she keeps him very close.
15. Can they take care of plants? Do they have any?
(I’m picking RUST danggit, because I’ve never been able to do an OC Ask for her)
YES Rust can absolutely take care of plants. She likes succulents. Whether she has any currently I’m not sure.

No one asked, but, if all of my OCs were Humans they’d be scaled as follows:
-Freyja & Rust: 6′5″ (I didn’t stutter) -Rowan: 6′1″ -Lazuli: 5′11″ -Alice: 5′10″ -Maura: 5′8″ (maybe 5′9″? idk, hard to say) -Zelly: 5′4″

At first I was thinking it’d be kinda funny if a Borrower picked up a set of scissors and split them in two...
...and then I realized that I, a Human, cannot split a pair of scissors in two. I’m not strong enough to do that.
So, I quickly realized how absolutely terrifying that would be and I loved it.

Note
How old are all your ocs?
SO these are all subject to change! And are semi-dependant on the AU. If you see a main OC of mine, it’s honestly a safe bet to assume they’re in their mid-late 20′s.
Note #1: The GTU!AU versions of these characters all have their ages slightly tweaked as well, since the story there is around Alice & Freyja’s second year of university
Note #2: in Offline Valor, the Borrowers might not know/might not care about how old they actually are, so their ages are merely speculative
Rust: 29 or 30
Freyja: 28
Lazuli: 27
Rowan: 26
Maura: 25 1/2
Alice: 25
Zelly: 24
