coffee rim stains on open book pages , plaid pajama pants , expensive colognes , plants in every room of the house , homemade pasta , political dramas , makeshift palettes on the floor made of all the blankets and pillows in the house , evenings spent in the dog park , ice cream bars 

before settling down as a psychiatrist in the sleepy little town of lakeview, conrad was devoted to research in his field. he has traveled to numerous countries to be a guest lecturer, give speeches, and attend conferences. its really something that the people who know him best know all about because he will never stop talking about it. or his plans to retire one day and travel the world by boat. 

anybody close to conrad is going to obviously know about the wedding fiasco that happened just a few months back. without a shadow of doubt it was the worst, most embarrassing moment of his entire life. it was also the first time he was in a situation where he lost complete control; he blew up in the chaos that ensued. the first crack in his calm and relaxed demeanor. 

he stands now as a testament to self love. he wears sweatpants to the grocery store now if he wants to. at least one day a week he makes sure he has no plans at all so he can take himself to the movies or to a nice dinner. he’s resolved to hit the world with a more “come what may” attitude and give up on trying to control every little facet of his life. he’s even started to let his grey hairs grow out instead of dying them like he us to.

conrad lives alone now with his dog, olive, whom he adopted just a month ago. she’s an excitable little german shepard puppy and pretty much his entire world as of late. while he’d never let it actually affect his work, a part of him can feel time slowing to a miserable halt when he’s with his last patient of the day and he’s so close to seeing her again. he takes a run with her in the morning and in the evening he takes her to the park.

Thank you so much for sending these! <33 I saw some wonderful writers do these as if this was an interview and the characters answered themselves and I found it super interesting to read so I will try to do it that way. I hope it will be enjoyable <3 (this prompt, feel free to send anything!)

3. If they complimented each other, what would they say?

"Tatum is just the best person you could ever meet," Lina reacts immediately. "Well," she hums, "maybe you wouldn't say that right after meeting him, but under that stoic mask, he is the kindest person ever. Someone you can always rely on. Man of his words. And I swear he is also incredibly funny once you get to know him really well."

Tatum clears his throat, obviously uncomfortable - after all, hearing Lina say all these nice things so openly still makes his stomach flutter.

"Look at him!" Lina exclaims before he can speak about her. "Look how utterly adorable he is when he is flustered. Oh, and he always smells good."

This time, Tatum clears his throat louder and speaks before she can say anything more.

"Lina never hesitates to help other people and she cares far more than she will ever admit. She is ridiculously clever and she always wants to learn more. She always wants to do, to be, better."

Lina nudges him, rolling her eyes and a deep pink flush adorns her cheeks. Stop it, she whispers.

"And of course, she has the most beautiful smile I have ever seen," Tatum adds quietly, looking down at Lina's face, a soft smile of his own revealing dimples in his cheeks.

15. What are traits they dislike in one another?

"Ah, let me go first," Tatum jumps in this time. "Lina is so terrilbly messy. She has no system. No routine when it comes to putting things where they belong. Everything is just... everywhere."

Lina chuckles and nods, knowing perfectly well that Tatum is right. She doesn't mind the mess and he used to overlook it, too. But the damn army life has thaught him that everything has to have an order and now he applies that to her clothes, too, for fuck's sake.

"Tatum can be tragically overprotective," she simply shrugs. "But I don't dislike it. It just can be a bit overwhelming sometimes."

I know he is just scared of losing me, is what she doesn't say aloud.

24. What is something they have each had to forgive the other for?

"Does the childhood bickering and shit count?" Lina grins up at Tatum, a joyful glint in her eyes.

"No, I do not think so," he chuckles. There was a lot of "I am sorry" and "It's okay" included in their childhood fights, but neither of them seems to be able to remember anything serious.

"I know!" Lina suddenly almost jumps on spot. "That one time when you ruined my very first date ever. I didn't talk to you for a week."

"Not an act I am proud of," Tatum nods, though it is easy to notice that there is very little of an honest regret in his voice.

"It's okay, you can say that you didn't want me to date anyone else," Lina smirks - after many years, Tatum admitted that he was jealous of her date, which led to his decision to ruin it.

"I am not denying that," Tatum says slowly. "It still doesn't mean my actions were justified."

There's a long silence and the atmosphere in the room changes slightly - somehow, the silence is heavy now. The couple shares a long look and even though they don't say anything, there's a million of little conversations shared in that gaze.

Finally, Tatum breaks the eye contact and says with a rueful smile: "I think there are more things we had to forgive our own selves for than the ones we had to forgive each other for."
