Finished watching Ultimate Note and unsurprisingly there are many loose ends, but it was still a satisfying watch.
And like. I did not go into any of these Graverobber's Chronicles adaptations looking for ships, but they happened anyway. The characters just had the kind of dynamics that press all the right buttons, and such great chemistry.
I'd like to write some kind of intelligent review but brain is made of goo and fixating on What Next???
I'm torn between moving onto the next drama chronologically (Tomb of the Sea, which is the first one I watched lol) skipping that and going on to the next I haven't watched (Reunion: The Sound of the Providence) or just... diving into AO3 to see what tasty meals are on offer.
Or raiding tumblr tags. Hm.

Hi! I'm 5 eps in to Reunion: SOTP And I watch the Tomb of Sea last year. Can you help clarify a couple of characters? I had originally thought Xiao Ge and Black Glasses were the same person but obviously not. Black Glasses ran around saving Wu Xie's butt in ToS like XG is doing but XG wasn't in ToS? And what about the teens? and the base at the end? (ok that's just me with other random plot questions which are just bugging me.... Can you help?
Ok, I’m not an expert, but I do have a lot of screen caps of these guys so I’ll do my best...
Xiao Ge, real(ish) name Zhang Qiling, is this guy in Tomb of the Sea:

He’s not in a lot of it, but he is in there.
Every series has different actors, except sometimes one actor will repeat, which makes things confusing.
Wang Pangzi in Tomb of the Sea is the same actor as Wang Pangzi in Reunion (aka Reboot).
Zhang Qiling in Tomb of the Sea is the same actor as Zhang Qiling in Ultimate Note.
Zhang Rishan’s been the same actor in 3 different DMBJ things. His character is related to Zhang Qiling, distantly - they’re not siblings or direct cousins or anything like that, but they have similar tattoos and longevity.
(Those aren’t the only repeats; just the ones that immediately come to mind)
Most of the stories focus on “The Iron Triangle” which is
1. Wu Xie, who is usually played by someone cute with floppy hair,
2. Wang Pangzi, who is usually some variety of “fat” but that can just mean “not as skinny as the other two”
3. Zhang Qiling/Xiao Ge who often, but not always, wears a hoodie.  He looks younger than the other guys but he’s actually an immortal. He has the most nicknames of anyone in the shows, I think:  His actual name is Zhang Qiling. They mostly call him Xiao Ge which means “little older brother” or “younger older brother” (i.e. if you have 2 older brothers, you might call the younger one Xiao Ge and the older one just Ge). They sometimes call him Men You Ping, which means something like “quiet oil bottle” but gets subtitled “Pokerface” or “Mute” in English. This is why the ship name for Xiao Ge x Wu Xie is “PingXIe.” And they call him Qilin (Kylin according to English subs) which is the magical creature he’s got tattoo’d on him.
There are a lot of friends and frenemies outside the group who show up in different things. Black Glasses is one of those. He is usually the only one they show wearing sunglasses. He is fairly chatty and he likes money a lot.
The teens in Tomb of the Sea are only in that story.
One extra confusing thing in going from Tomb of the Sea to Reunion/Reboot is that Liu Chang plays bad guy Wang Can in Tomb of the Sea...

and then plays a totally different person, Liu Sang, in Reunion/Reboot.

Just think of it like a long-running theater production and it makes it a little easier to get used to the actors shuffling around.
