Okay this is going to be rambly I apologize in advance lol.

I actually don’t mind the season overall! I like it better than the Chang dynasty arc of season 3 honestly. I also really like the puppet episode: as always, I feel like they could have done more if it wasn’t a sitcom time frame and formula, because Jeff’s secret was a big ol’ wtf moment that probably needed to be unpacked a little more, but I liked it for what it was.

I also really like heroic origins!! I know it messes with Troy’s backstory which is...just dumb? Idk why they would change it? And yeah it retcons a lot of established canon but I’m a sucker for fate and destiny plotlines etc. etc.

As a part-time (okay probably closer to full-time) Jabed shipper I am also a big fan of the jeff and abed parallels to start and end the season, and Jeff’s graduation speech is one of my favorite scenes in the series.

Also, as hardcore trobed trash, I kind of love this season because like...all the Troy and Britta just makes a stronger case for Troy and Abed???? Troy realizing he sees Abed as his boyfriend??? Abed breaking up with Britta because Troy realizes his heart isn’t in it for ~some reason~ and Abed caring enough about Troy to do whatever he needs him to do?? (Basic Human Anatomy is one of my favorite episodes idk why it’s just fun and Danny and Donald are so great in it lol.)

Wow I had more feelings about this season than I thought so I’m sorry lol. But yeah, I think I like it on the surface for what it is, so while I’m with everyone and agree that the season was excited poorly in a lot of ways, I think I like the base level ideas behind it enough that it kind of makes up for it for me enough to enjoy it.
