I hate that the wack ass theory about James and Charles being the same person might be true because one, it's so poorly written and two, it's so POORLY written.

I would LOVE to see a DG vs. Gun if the theory turns out to be fake that is. Or maybe James was on Charles side all along and will betray Yujin. Also, what did he mean by "I could lose"? Is Gun stronger than James Lee now?

I kinda feel like Chairman Hong isn't completely on Yujin's side because why was he asking who Gun was? Shouldn't he know that already, even Heather's mom knew, plus Daniel told him once too.

Crystal's no longer in contact with her trash daddy, I wanna see what happened behind the scenes she seemed to be on good terms with James and Gun. This still doesn't explain why Charles is doing what he is doing, like yeah his stocks will go to Gun and everything, but what was the main motive for all of this?

Gun's character really is complex it's hard to tell what's going on in his head. He genuinely does not seem to be that interested in living AT ALL. Even in the earlier episodes, he seemed to be okay with dying calling it "fate," like what 15-16 year old thinks like that. It's like he has no proper reason to be alive. Pretty sure this will eventually link up to his past and his father.

After seeing artists like Billie be supportive of up and coming performers, it’s so hollow and pathetic seeing oldface Harry doing his sympathy walks for attention. You never hear him talking or praising anyone that could be his competitor or him supporting lesser known people. a lot of older movie musicals (for example, fiddler on the roof and hello dolly) don't commit any of these sins bc they're basically a 1:1 translation of the original stage shows except they can utilize more space/setting. the only new movies i would consider really really good adaptations are in the heights and matilda, like based on my specific criteria they're pretty much perfect

^ say what you want about lmm but he really did have all those people dancing in the streets!!!!! great cast, very minor plot changes, no extraneous bullshit

however. the best example of how to make an amazing musical into an amazing movie is matilda!

this movie has everything!!!!!! extremely fun choreography, lots of talented children, beautiful portrayal of the fantasy sequences, one little inoffensive celeb cameo*, and they stuck the new song at the end where it couldn't bother me too much. obviously i'd prefer if they didn't cut those couple songs but still i'd give it a 9.9/10 and it makes me cry every time god bless

*emma thompson in a fat suit and oldface makeup is less offensive than a female character being played by a man for comedic effect. i guess

cardinal sins of movie musical adaptations:

1. casting famous actors or non-musical singers instead of people who can actually sing the part

why it happens: almost every movie musical does this to be fucking honest i assume it's just to attract an audience

worst example: meryl streep in anything

solution: rent avoided this by preserving most of the original cast for the movie; in the heights avoided this by just finding new people and sticking lin manuel miranda in the back

not a solution: ben platt in dear evan hansen

2. adding a new song that i hate

why it happens: presumably to secure an oscar nomination for best original song

worst example: cats

solution: if it must happen it should at least be written by the same composer/lyricist (stephen schwartz is doing this for the wicked movie) so it fits in with the musical themes

3. making it less "theatrical" by removing things like ensemble songs and choreography

why it happens: cowardice

worst example: sweeney todd

solution: don't do this! hire some dancers! live a little!

cats commits the first two sins maybe worse than any other movie but at least they have choreo!!!!!!!!!!! they have an ensemble!!!!!!!
