Love the fucked up YooHanKim dynamics in early ORV. Kim Dokja is has made it his life's mission to save YJH's life and solve all his problems and be his fucked up apocalypse therapist but also can't hold a conversation with the man to save his life. YJH can't decide if KDJ is his ride or die bestie or some freak he can't manage to kill. They hate each other. they'd die for each other. They have a thousand years of history they don't remember because it hasn't happened yet, and 15 years of history YJH is just straight up not aware of. Han Sooyoung is busy starting a cult and moonlighting as the author of a book she plagiarized.
Schroedinger's polycule. Quantum relationship. who else is doing it like them

Haunting the Narrative Round 1

Haunting the narrative means that the character’s absence heavily impacts the plot. They’re not present when their influence is most strongly felt, whether they’re alive or dead!

Its fascinating how YooHanKim all technically raised eachother.
For Han Sooyoung, because of her other ego's wish to save KDJ and his comments and her memories of Yoo Joonghyuk becoming dreams, she became a writer.
For Yoo Joonghyuk, Han Sooyoung wrote his regressions and KDJ birthed him from his imagination and then went on to lead him through the 0th turn's scenarios.
For KDJ, Yoo Joonghyuk saved him and was the only thing really keeping him afloat in his childhood and Han Sooyoung wrote to him when writing TWAS his favorite novel.
Idk about HSY but KDJ and YJH have also compared eachother to being "parents".

oh something about Kim Dokja apologizing to Yoo Sangah about not being able to save the grandmother has me a little bit feral because it's telling of something but I have forgotten too much to make an educated guess. Is it a way for him to deflect from answering if he is okay because he doesn't know if he is? Is that genuinely what he is feeling? Is he regretting that he needed the eggs to survive when he could have saved her? Is he apologizing because to him Yoo Sangah was a protagonist like individual and he thought she would care about that the most? Is he apologizing because he survived and not the grandmother, believing Yoo Sangah would be more sad about a stranger dying than her coworker? Am I reading too much into it?

I haven't read the entirety of the side stories yet, but I am being driven crazy over the fact that the kim dokja fragments all want to live so so so badly, but the kimcom wants their 100% kim dokja back so badly that theyre killing(i think???) all the fragments they can find (or at least thats what it seems like is happening??? i dunno afikjsdfksdkflsd sorry if im wrong im guessing) if they actually succeed in doing so, will the fragments remember wanting to live so badly before failing? before having died?
anyway I think the authors are so powerful for making me despair in ORV when 51% dokja was left behind, and then later in the side stories made me feel so much softness and warmth when heewon was the first one to step towards the portal where kim dokja lived, because even if he's changed he's still the person she loves, even if his memories aren't all there, even if he isn't 100% who he once was, she still 100% loves him anyway. fuck it this is a heewon appreciation post now

Am I An Asshole For Killing Myself?
Hi.
I'm uh... 28M and just recently some pretty big changes in my life have happened. This webnovel I really like ended, I made some new friends, and oh, the apocalypse started. but most of that's not really important. well except for the new friends
they're great! don't get me wrong I love them so terribly much
The only problem is I just came back from a recent near death experience and by near death I mean full death. i died.
and anyway, i was pretty okay dokay when I came back to life, but everyone seemed really mad when they saw me again??? Like that's so strange tbh I know I technically DID die, but I didn't like FOR REAL die, i only died for like a little bit
and like none of them seemed to really understand my side of the story? I felt really oppressed by the whole situation, but maybe that had to do more with the drugging and being tied up part.
but don't worry! they've done this before without my consent so it's like for sure for sure completely normal, and like the last time they did it I didn't even die I just disappeared off the face of the earth for two years leaving them all to grapple with my loss and various other such pains, so really this is all an over reaction
anyway, what do you guys think? AITA?

I think it’s cool how ORV places so much importance of the reader/writer/protagonist roles but then also has everyone switching roles like it’s a game of goddamn musical chairs. Kim Dokja is a reader but he’s also writing his own story but he’s also the protagonist of that story but he’s also reading that story. Han Sooyoung is an author except for that one time she was the protagonist of the 1863 regression in YJh’s stead, and that time she was the reader of WoS (which she wrote). Yoo Joonghyuk is the protagonist until he’s a constellation, or until he reads all of KDJ’s story while floating in space, or until he writes the epilogue and it’s a whole thing.
The constellations are stories but they’re also the readers of stories. The incarnations are protagonists unless you remember that one time HSY said they were authors. The dokkaebi are editors, which is either authors two:electric boogaloo or its own completely distinct thing. It’s like… what if there were three ways to survive in a ruined world but all of them were actually the same way and that way was love.

TWSA having chapters dedicated to 81st Round Yoo Joonghyuk teaching his teammates (but mostly Kim Namwoon) how to survive, chapters written specifically so that Dokja could learn how to survive on his own.
Lee Hakhyun realizing this as he reads those same chapters, while also learning how to survive on his own, and feeling closer to being Dokja than he ever felt so far.
Don't talk to me I'm emotional.

decided to reread orv i dont know what possessed me to do that.
their lives are intertwined so much. good, bad, everything. wibdshknwhjbvrsjahfbvik
the original life of yoo joonghyuk and that ending. he went thought it all to meet kim dokja im crying. he chose that on the slight off chance that he would meet him, the very minute possibility of getting to meet the man who helped him this much, to thank him and to meet him. despite knowing that he would have to go through that hell, worse actually 1864 times before MAYBE meeting him. kim dokja wanted yjh to be happy, he was so happy. yjh was so happy but he felt like he must meet kdj, something was missing without him. kdj accepted being forgotten and hated because he felt the same. yjh went through that hell just to meet kdj and the present 1864 round yjh JUST realised that and remembered everything. i cant.
have cried so much in the past 50 chapters. still cant stop
