Hey so why's there a cave full of columnar jointing in Outer Gondor. What's the implication here
#lotro#according to my sources (5 minutes of googling) this forms wherever there was volcanic activity#but theres nothing else like it in the area sooooooo... underwater magma flow?#from presumably some prehistoric volcano in the white mountains#or perhaps extremely distant runoff from the formation of mordor?#idk what the timeline is between mordor getting to be like that and the numenorians colonizing this part of the coastline#could possibly link back to my initial impression of this place being like wyoming#which of course had a lot of past and to some degree present volcanic activity#i dont remember seeing any columnar jointing in wyoming when i spent time there but then again i went into very few caves#alternatively certain volcanic activity from the foundering of numenor? that had to have effects on the coastline of middle earth#one would think the local gondorians would have some kind of historical record of that...#but then again given everything that was going on a little lava on the beach probably the least of their problems#also maybe they do and no one has seen fit to mention it idk#oh lithengris if anyones wondering
