opal has another bite, taking a few seconds to swallow her food. "you don't wanna be together. i can't control how you feel." she shrugs. "what i can control is how i respond. and i choose to be calm. and look at the bright things in life." she grabs a glass and fills it with lemonade. "i'm sorry it's not the reaction you wanted, but i'm not going to beg and manipulate to you to stay with me-cause it's not what you want." she points the hamper. "it's in there. i washed it for you last night."

"How are you being so calm right now?" Hope said as the situation seemed really surreal. Maybe this was how breakups went when one of the people completely stopped caring. Hope opened the nearby drawer and started picking out her things. "Do you know where my red hoodie is?"

she shakes her head. "it doesn't bother me that you're here. i have no ill will against you." she's honest. "like i said, don't rush yourself. i don't want you feeling stressed." she pops a pizza roll in her mouth. "i'm good with remaining as friends, if you want of course."

Hope felt as though Opal's tone was almost cruel. The way that she seemed not to care at all about the situation. "Okay, thank you." Hope said as she walked over to the closet and picked out a medium sized box. Right now Hope was thankful she didn't have a lot here to take. "I am sure you want me out of your hair sooner rather than later."

"that's fine with me!" opal chirps, leaning over and pointing to the end of the hall. "if you go into that closet, there's a ton of boxes. use whatever you need." she smiles and then the microwave goes off. she takes out her plate and uses her hand to fan off the food. "no rush either; how ever long it takes you is okay with me."

Based on her reaction Hope could only assume that Opal had seen this coming. Part of her had been hoping that she'd fight for her. "I guess I should get it now." She said with a slight shrug. "It would save us some awkwardness later."
