Do you often think about Seb saying that Charles gave him an headache here and there (like his whole porpuse at rb wasn't annoying the living shit out of Mark) but he'll be the man of the future or are you normal?

[💃🏼 Spring Dancing]
a small blurb when charles wins monaco perhaps??
It has been way too long since his last race win. Charles is hungry to add another trophy to the collection in Maranello back in Italy.
He also can't wait to finally win that one race that has the greatest meaning to him: the traditional Monaco GP, the oldest race in F1 and, of course, his home race. He is eager to put his name on the same list of winners, right next to his idols he used to watch and admire growing up.
Charles is confident in this years car, confident in his skills and practice and he is confident in the emotional support in the form of his girlfriend he brought with him to Monte Carlo.
(Y/N) probably has been more nervous than her boyfriend during the weekend. She even cried some happy tears when Charles put it on P2 during qualifying, not able to end Max's pole streak. But he can't be happier with the results. Just because overtaking in Monaco is difficult doesn't mean it is impossible. He is sure he can somehow pass the Dutch in his rocket ship. After all, he grew up in these streets and he has 76 laps full of opportunities.
The whole race is a nail-biting kind of nervous situation for (Y/N). Whenever Charles gets too close to the barriers, her heart skips a beat or two. Connect her to a heart monitor and medical students would have a field day.
When Charles finally overtook Max during the final the laps, (Y/N) can't stop cheering. Before her boyfriend even crosses the finish line, tears are streaming down her cheeks, evidence of the immense pride and joy she is feeling.
As soon as he parked his car and got done with his celebratory posing, he runs up to his girlfriend, jumping into her arms. In each others embrace, she tells him over and over again how proud she is of him, praising his achievement endlessly.
"I knew you will get your home race win today." (Y/N) mutters in the after celebrations sanctuary of their hotel room, laying on bed and looking at the other. "I knew, but this wouldn't have been possible without your support. I will always owe you for this and make sure to never forget who was with me during my wins and losses." He presses a sweet kiss to her lips before engulfing her in another hug, one they will keep the other in for the rest of the night.

what's been happening in the world of motorsports?
(this is a long one since i had no time to write it down, so it will be hidden under the cut in relative chronological order)
Williams and Alpine were the last teams to do their shakedowns before pre season testing (Williams announced it was a strategic move to keep the real car concept a secret for as long as possible)
Helmut Marko has been saying a lot about Ferrari and 2025 Ferrari like that he thinks Lewis only came to Ferrari because Max earning more hurt his pride and Ferrari offered him a bigger pay check or that he considers Charles 2024 season's champion (ok grandpa, let's get you to bed)
after Alpha Tauri departed as title sponsor of current RB team, they became official clothing partner of FIA from 2024 to 2026
RBR was the last team to have their launch (although the livery looks just the same as it did before and although the car leaked a few hours before) and Horner was present just like he is at the pre season testing, he gave an interview during the launch where he denied any allegations, but Viaplay suggested he will be stepping away from the position of Red Bull team principal and it will be announced on 28th Feb which they promptly denied afterwards. Walls Street Journal speculated the victim is Horner's personal assistant and apparently people already spied who it is on Linked in and then made it big on Twitter. If you have names, please PLEASE do not publish them. And finally Craig Slate who followed the case from the start and spoke to related personnel said the investigation is now finished the report (close to 150 pages long) was delivered to the Red Bull Board and now we are awaiting the decision. In the meantime both F1 and FORD urged for prompt resolution of the case.
F1 also officially addressed the situation but only to say they hope RBR resolve it asap
McLaren boss Andrea Stella admitted they will be doing something similar to last year in terms of updates, because they wanted to add more to this year's concept before launch, so they will push the updates forward and expect early gains from them
F1 Academy announced more drivers and partnerships: they have partnered Charlotte Tilbury make up brand to have their own livery and Lola Lovinfosse as a driver (for Rodin), Jessica Edgar will drive for Rodin as well, Reema Juffali as wildcard driver for Prema for the first round in Jeddah and FDA driver Aurelia Nobels driving a Puma livery for ART. The grid is now complete and girls are training for first race.
Nico Rosberg broke his silence over the contract news and denied the rumours he would be coming back to Mercedes, because he now has great respect for the dangers of the sport (he also said that besides living close, Lewis gives his kids Chrismas presents every year
Fabio Quartararo claimed that Pierro Ferrari let him know about Lewis coming to Ferrari when he visited Maranello
it was Enzo Ferrari's birthday anniversary on 18th February (or was it?? nobody will ever know when he was actually born and how long it took his father to announce it to the authorities), then it was Niki Lauda's birthday anniversary on 22nd Feb and finally Alain Prost's birthday was on 24th Feb
three day long F1 pre season testing is over and RBR seems to be clear favorite, with almost no reliability issues (spare a few fuel pumps and Checo's brakes catching fire for a bit) but Red Flags still appeared because of loose drain covers [side note: I have detailed summary of each day if anyone is interested as well as some technical analysis and predictions]
fun fact about some changes in testing: Alpine seems to have added a bit more blue color onto the nose and Mercedes changed their suspension for the last day of testing, because their car features a clever solution which allows them to fine tune the suspension setting for each race
Jeff Dodds the CEO of Formula E believes that F1 title for 2024 is done and dusted after he saw the first day of testing and promised to donate 250k to charity of drivers choice if they win instead
We have an F1 group pic to look forward to which we already saw some glimpses from teams like McLaren
Aston Martin presented their new safety car (personal opinion it looks like a green zebra and I liked last year's so much more)
Sauber confirmed Zane Maloney and Theo Pourchaire as reserve drivers for 2024
4 teams complained about Mercedes front wing but FIA deemed it legal
Fred Vasseur confirmed that Ferrari didn't publish the lenght of Charles' and Lewis' contracts for strategic purposes, he also mentioned they are still waiting for compensation for Las Vegas drain cover damage on Carlos' car (and now they may try to ask for the same for floor damage from pre season testing), speaking of Lewis he said that Fred was the main push for him to come to Ferrari and he didn't have to think much about it and didn't even tell his parents until the day of announcement, one of the things he wants to focus on is the diversity of the team
Steve Nielsen who left FIA returned to F1 as a consultant, Guenther Steiner will return in the paddock as RTL presenter and Matia Binotto returns to the world of racing with E-Powertrain of TEXA
there are rumours of issues for Audi caused by two main figures of team possibly leaving
Este said he's like to try Le Mans
FIA warned fans there are two companies claiming to sell unauthorised F1 hospitality ticket packages
if you follow F1 on Sky Sports, David Croft will miss 3 races this year because of his wedding and a wish to spend more time with family among the expanding calendar
RacingNews365 estimated driver salaries for 2024 (Max 55m dollars, Lewis 45m, Charles 34m, Lando 20m and George 18m for the top 5 highest earning ones)
Ralph Schumacher tried to get into the headlines when he said he thinks that Sebastian Vettel wants to race again but Mercedes would be too big for him
F1 and Nascar might be infringing the IMS trademarked phrase "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" (because F1 uses "the greatest spectacle in motorsport"
after McLaren Reece partnership, Haas partnered with Palm Angels for luxury clothing and speaking of fashion, Ferrari introduced their fall/winter 24-25 collection this weekend
Google extended the partnership with McLaren to not just be primary partner for their F1 team but also Extreme E
FIA wants to close up a loophole in the costcap rules about part time and third party workers and include their full year salary into the budget (did teams use it to gain small advantage? perhaps yes. but we should have a talk about possible obstacle this makes for teams to find new workers among "undiscovered" talents)
from fan's point of view:
Guanyu did a photoshoot for Elle Men China (and slayed)
Charles was in Uzbekistan before pre season testing for an event with fans (and for skiing apparently)
Lewis posted a thirst trap from his work out session
Pierre apparently posted a pic (video?) of being stopped by police and performing an alcohol test and later deleted it
Charles with his boytoys made another ad during karting
Arthur Leclerc randomly came on Twitch to stream Fortnite (and mentioned he will say Hello everybody, because he can't pronounce Hello guys 😭)
Lewis hung out with Anna Wintour (for Baftas? I think)
multiple drivers played golf and padel together before the Bahrain gp
REMINDER: the first two gps will be held on Saturday, so don't miss out

Give Me Strength Chapter 1;
Alexandra Zastrod born in Albuquerque, New Mexico but moved to Mystic Falls, Virginia when she turned twelve years of age along with her parents, it was a sudden move due to a family fight between herself and the family, of course, she was never told why or what the fight was about but perhaps it was for the better.
After two years of living in Mystic Fall peacefully that peace was violently disturbed when her parents were brutally murdered outside their home when they returned from work, Alexandra was inside watching television when her mother's piercing scream alerted not just her but the entire neighbourhood, the police were called but they were pronounced dead on the scene.
The Family Across the street known as the Gilbert's offered to watch over Alexandra and offered a place for her to stay until she was ready to face the world on her own, knowing she was set for life with the life insurance she was bound to get when she turned eighteen, But Alexandra refused to leave the home her parents once lived in with her, she refused to leave those memories behind to live across the street, she would rather live by herself.
Eventually, Alexandra was forced to live with the Gilbert family, thinking she needed her space to get used to the idea that her parents were no longer around, they left her alone to her thoughts and gave her the space they thought she needed, but as the days passed Alexandra quickly became depressed and soon she was sneaking out of the Gilbert residence during the night and soon fell into the wrong crowd before forcefully removing herself from the Gilbert home and going back to her house across the street, that is when she met one of her closest friends, Jayden Lopez.
Jayden Lopez born in Mystic Falls, Virginia never knew his real father because he decided to bail three weeks before he was born with a text to his mother saying, "I'm not ready for that responsibility." before disappearing practically off the face of the earth, for eight years Jayden's mother raised him alone until she remarried a Mafia boss and Jayden's last name became Lopez, Jayden's stepfather is a well-known and feared man in Mexico and South America where he dominates the territory and makes a quick buck by selling drugs to drug addicts.
When Jayden turned thirteen his mother tragically died in a car accident and was pronounced dead on impact, which resulted in Jayden becoming depressed and turning to drugs as an escape, he dropped out of school to avoid everyone only to before to return by his step-father when he learned Jayden was using drugs and buying it from his own men he had stationed in Mystic Falls, Jayden's stepfather continued providing him with drugs knowing damn well what it could do to him, but he wanted Jayden to follow in his footsteps and if it meant giving him drugs as an escape gate then so be it, soon enough Jayden was providing drugs to the kids on school grounds, which quickly earned him a reputation.
It was always clear that Jayden didn't give a shit about school or the grades but if it meant that his stepfather could continue helping him with his addiction, he was willing to suffer a few hours.
It didn't take long before Jayden saw the depressed Alexandra and approached her and offered her some pills to make her feel better, she was an easy target for him but the two quickly bonded over the loss her parents and the death of his mother, as the first year went by Jayden and Alexandra quickly became inseparable, but then they met young fresh out of middle school, Tyler Zoid.
Tyler Zoid born in Mystic Falls, Virginia and raised by his strict parents, which quickly caused young Tyler to rebel against their wishes, when he turned fourteen and was sent to high school he met and quickly befriended Alexandra and Jayden because of their reputation around school, Jayden quickly learned about Tyler's strict parents and decided to provide him with drugs to provoke his parents even more, Tyler accepted the drugs but never used them until a year passed and he finally snapped.
After an argument with his parents about Alexandra and Jayden he stormed to his bedroom slamming the door shut and locking it, spotting the packet of pills he decided it was time to celebrate his upcoming fifteenth birthday, Tyler being the youngest of the trio was always cautions and never overused, he only drank a few pills or snorted a small number of drugs until he thought it was enough, a few months after his fifteenth birthday his parents banned him from attending any sort of formal ball, dance or anything that would put them in a bad light knowing he would cause chaos on purpose.
Due to his strict parents, he hates conflict and becomes scared easily, hence why he never overdoes it with the drugs and alcohol.
Speaking of alcohol, perhaps you should meet the man that provides them with their daily or nightly dose of alcohol, Santino Iglesias.
Santino Iglesias born in Maranello, Italy but moved to America along with his parents at the age of ten, his family is a wealthy bunch and own several businesses across the globe, even though his parents had several different businesses they made sure Santino was given enough attention as a child and as a teenager, he never caused them any trouble and made them proud when he graduated from high school and went to University.
Santino studied for three years to become a doctor before dropping out and moving back to Mystic Falls into his own apartment, but having to explain to his parents why he suddenly didn't want to become a doctor anymore the following day, Santino decided to go out for the night and have some fun and to get drunk, Santino officially met Alexandra the next morning in her bed and ever since that morning they became close.
Friends with benefits close, he soon met Jayden and Tyler, only becoming friends with them to impress Alexandra and get into her good books, he would never admit it out loud in front of anyone or Alexandra herself but he developed strong feelings for Alexandra, he was afraid she would end their bedroom arrangements.
Santino, however, has never taken drugs and doesn't plan on taking drugs either, he also wants Alexandra to stop taking drugs and always made sure she knew about it but she never paid much mind to him, she always offered him thinking he was just stressed because of his current profession, an underwear model, but he always refused.

You Can Visit These Epic Car Museums Without Ever Leaving Home
The novel coronavirus (also known as COVID-19) pandemic has many of us stuck at home. Yet, even if we could leave the house without fear of contracting the highly contagious virus, we’d be SOL, as most of the world’s biggest attractions have been closed. That includes the majority of car museums. But since we live in the 21st Century, you can still visit these beloved institutions through interactive and virtual tours. Here are the best car museums you can visit virtually while waiting out COVID-19.
Porsche Museum
Easily one of the best car museums in the world, and one on many enthusiasts’ bucket lists, the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, Germany, gathers the brand’s most iconic and influential sports cars, race cars, and one very important tractor in a stunningly designed building that’s an attraction in itself. The museum’s virtual tour lets you explore the masterfully displayed collection inside and take in all the architectural beauty outside.
Mercedes-Benz Museum
Also located in Stuttgart is the just-as-stunning and just-as-closed Mercedes-Benz museum. Not to be outdone by Porsche, Mercedes’s museum has its own architecturally impressive building, as well as a massive car collection that’s presented in a dynamic and engaging way. Take the museum’s virtual tour here. If you have a VR headset, Mercedes offers a number of 360-degree videos on its YouTube channel.
Museo Lamborghini
The Lamborghini museum in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, offers a virtual tour via Google Street View. Virtually wandering through the halls may not cure coronavirus, but seeing all that glorious Italian sheet metal should help keep the quarantine blues at bay.
National Corvette Museum
Bowling Green, Kentucky, is hallowed ground for diehard Corvette fans. Not only is it home to the plant that builds the Corvette, but it’s also the site of the National Corvette Museum. Thanks to the magic of Google Street View, anyone can make a virtual pilgrimage to the museum. You can also take a 360-degree tour of the massive sinkhole that swallowed eight classic Corvettes in 2014.
Petersen Automotive Museum
The Petersen has always been a world-class car museum, but in 2015 it got a makeover to match the quality of the automotive artifacts housed inside. The renovations completely transformed the atmosphere of the museum. This Google Street View tour of the pre-renovation Petersen, however, is a nostalgic stroll through memory lane. The cars in the collection haven’t changed, though. Click here to see a list of what the museum has in store. Also, catch the Petersen’s series of educational livestreams it plans to broadcast throughout the duration of L.A. school closures.
Lane Motor Museum
If you love weird and quirky cars, then the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville, Tennessee, is the perfect place to virtually visit. With an eclectic collection that includes obscure French classics, oddball microcars, and a replica of the revolutionary 1933 Dymaxion, the Lane Motor Museum is almost guaranteed to have a car you’ve never seen or heard of before. Get ready to start scratching your head and browse the collection yourself by clicking here.
Ferrari Museum
Ferrari has two museums celebrating its work in Italy: one next to its factory in Maranello and another in Modena. Both can be accessed virtually through Google Street View—just be prepared to see a lot of red.
Toyota Museum
Toyota is one of the largest automakers in the world—it even has a city named after it. So it should come as no surprise that the Japanese brand has an impressive museum. Located in Nagakute, Japan, the Toyota Automobile Museum not only tells the story of the company founded by Kiichiro Toyoda in 1937, but of the automobile itself. As such, the museum doesn’t just showcase classic Toyotas. In fact, you’ll be treated to Bugattis, Alfa Romeos, Mercedes, Fords, and much more. If you’re hankering to see some vintage Japanese sheet metal, you’ll find plenty of that, too. Take the virtual tour here.

The Other Way to Get a 2017 Ford GT
[See image gallery at www.autoguide.com] By now the story is well known… Ford astounded autolandia when the sheet came off its four-wheeled fighter jet at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. For months details were scarce. We knew it would have a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 yanked from the Ford Riley Daytona Prototype running around in IMSA’s new United SportsCar Championship; we knew it would be hand built by the hired guns at Multimatic in Markham, Ontario; and we knew the company intended to rekindle its war with Ferrari at Le Mans. Oh, and there weren’t going to be many. Eventually, we learned Ford would mete out 1,000 cars over four years to a carefully curated cadre of buyers, giving preference to former GT owners and Ford aficionados with an affinity for motorsports, philanthropy, and social media. Applicants were asked to bare their souls in a convoluted ordering process that demanded your vehicle history, intended use of the GT should the privilege to spend $450,000 ($560,000 CAD) on one be granted, plus a 60-second video where you would politely ask for one. It was a process that would embarrass even Maranello’s overwrought old boys club. Richard L’Abbe met almost none of those criteria, yet he recently became one of the first four Canadians to receive the half-million-dollar Ford. He doesn’t own a previous generation Ford GT nor other road cars of its caliber, for many years he preferred the anonymity of small SUVs and minivans, and his experience with the Ford brand prior to GT ownership could be described as middling at best. He doesn’t publicize his philanthropy nor use social media, in fact, L’Abbe didn’t even submit the required video with his application. Before you start screaming shenanigans, there are a few things you need to know about Richard L’Abbe’s unorthodox path to Ford GT ownership. L’Abbe wasn’t even into cars, let alone motorsports, until about a decade ago when he attended an event at Calabogie Motorsports Park and decided it was the kind of venture he wanted to get involved with. After an arduous interview with the tight-knit ownership group, a few hot laps in a Porsche 911 track-rat, and an obligatory round of golf, he was in. Richard then waded into the world of motorsports, taking high-performance driving lessons before procuring himself a racing license and eventually proper racing cars like a 1996 Lola T96 Formula 3000 car and a 2013 Radical SR3—in which L’Abbe can certainly do some damage. The story of Richard’s GT ownership begins in April of 2015 when the L’Abbes were traveling to China for the Formula 1 race at the Shanghai International Circuit. But there was a second reason for Richard’s visit to the People’s Republic—8 days after Lewis Hamilton took his 41st Formula 1 victory the Ford GT was due to be unveiled, again, at the Shanghai Motor Show. From the entrance of the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, it took forty-five minutes of brisk walking to arrive at the Ford booth, where L’Abbe was hoping to speak with someone about the GT. Of course, upon arrival, the well-meaning local Ford staff were quick to turn Richard away for lacking an appointment. “I ended up, by hook and by crook, going into the offices and I met a gentleman that I had no clue who he was,” L’Abbe recounts with a slight grin. “It ends up that it was Raj Nair [Ford president and vice president of North America]. So, we start chatting and I say, ‘Mr. Nair, I’m one of the partners at the Calabogie Motorsports Park.’” As Ford VP of Global Product Development at the time, and one of the main architects of the GT program, Raj Nair knows all about Calabogie Motorsports Park. Calabogie is a small town with a ski hill about 150 km Northeast of Ottawa, just off the Madawaska River. The circuit itself is an up and down, side to side tarmac ribbon ride through the woods in the middle of nowhere; it’s also where Ford and Multimatic had chosen to clandestinely develop the GT, with Scott Maxwell laying down thousands of laps before the car even debuted publicly. Not many people know this, but Ford doesn’t win Le Mans in 2016 without Calabogie Motorsports Park. “So, I ask him, how is this car going to be allocated? And he says, ‘Richard, we haven’t decided that, but just leave your name with us, speak to the guys at Multimatic, and when the [application] process is announced, we’ll contact you.’” Despite his peripheral connection with the car’s development, Richard was skeptical of his application being accepted. “I filled it out as best I could, but I must admit that maybe my application wasn’t in the top percentile because there were a lot of holes in there.” But the story gets even more incredible following L’Abbe’s approval in September 2016. Richard needed to have his order finalized by February of 2017, except, the Ford GT Concierge Service couldn’t send him one of their splendid ordering kits because they weren’t ready yet. “They called and said we don’t have the kits yet, but we want you to order the car with the finishes you want, so would you be willing to come down to the Ford New Product Development Center in Dearborn?” Richard was the first person on the next flight to Detroit. After a morning perusing the Henry Ford Museum Richard simply walked across the street to Ford’s New Product Development Center where he got to hang out with members of the twenty-two-human skunkworks team that took the GT from ideation to final iteration in under a year. “They explained why they use clay models and how important they still are, then they went through the development process, which for me was an absolute walk in a candy shop with all of my favorite treats. And then we chose the finishes and that was it. I came back to Ottawa and I put my deposit down.” L’Abbe wanted the Detroit debut car the minute he saw photos of it, so that’s the way he ordered his, Liquid Blue with the optional carbon-fiber wheels. Once Richard had committed half the value of the car Ford gave him a production window, GT chassis No.71 was scheduled for production in late July or August. In late August Richard visited Multimatic’s production facility just barely north of Toronto where they walked him through the car’s six assembly stations from tub, to frame, paint, then motor plus 6,000 other things, before validation. “No one had told me I was going to see my car for the very first time.” As part of the quality control process, Multimatic uses spotlights mounted on a big arch one-and-a-half-times the length of the car to illuminate the car evenly in order to check the paint for defects. “So, I’ve just finished looking at a car being assembled in the last stage, and I turn around and this baby is sitting right under the lights. “I don’t get emotional about cars, I’ve got a number of race cars, but when I saw this, and I knew the whole history behind it, it was just an amazing experience for me. Because throughout my entire career I was always very big on creativity and innovation, pushing the boundaries of the state of technology. And that’s exactly what Ford has done with this car. And to know that the Canadian component was such a big component of the development of the car and the fact that it was tested here at Calabogie by Multimatic and to know it’s built in Canada, well that, for me, was just off the charts.” That’s why Richard plans to use the car in his philanthropic work with local schools and universities, hoping to stimulate and spur curiosity in young minds about science, technology, and engineering. As part of that work, the 647-hp Ford GT will serve as the centerpiece during the grand reopening of the Canadian National Museum of Science and Technology on November 17, alongside the first car ever built in Canada, a 113-year-old Ford Model C. When In Italy - Twenty Vital Things To Do
Resting round the dinner table one evening, after a couple of containers of Chianti with some old buddies, the majority of whom had actually hung around as European tour guides as well as backpackers, I inquired to name the best thing to see or do while staying in Italy. There was a lot of loud discussion as some tried to commend the less apparent points over the more mainstream, however there were additionally plenty of unanimous arrangement for others.
In no certain order may I present to you the top 20 points to do in Italy as decided by my friends.
 1. Religious Woman Viewing in Piazza San Pietro
There is something tranquil concerning viewing a line of Nuns on trip, specifically on details Saint's days, taking images of the façade of St Peter's or routing behind each various other inside the huge basilica. They are only out numbered by the pigeons, which moms and dads, that dislike their children, motivate to remain on their children's head in hopes they will certainly choose them up as well as fly away, possibly dropping them someplace over the Discussion forum.
 2. Eating Gelati 3 times a day
This is obligatory for any person travelling throughout the months of June, July as well as August. Exactly how the Italians obtain it so luscious, tasty as well as dribbly is beyond me yet you never ever feel full. It's the very best thing after a lengthy hot day marking time for hours to see all those stunning art work. It is made with absolutely natural ingredients and everybody claims to have the most effective gelato shop in Italy, which is believable, yet some even go better, exploring in weird flavours like tomato as well as believe it or otherwise basil.
 3. Standing up the leaning tower of Pisa
You have actually all seen it. The obligatory image of someone and also their mates standing up the Leaning tower, either with one finger or both hands. Possibly the next best thing to climbing it, which is all anybody goes to Pisa to do. And also holding it up has to do with the least expensive thing there.
Cinque Terre
 4. Dodging Cars in Rome
After skies diving in Switzerland and a taxi flight in the Czech republic this most likely the most adrenaline packed activity you can do in Europe. To cross the road you must maintain walking, see to it you keep eye contact with any approaching vehicle driver like a bullfighter as well as keep relocating. The automobiles and bikes will come really close, never actually touching you, as long as you keep going.
 5. Parking on a Kerb
 Every person else does it.
 6. Vocal singing a Duet with a Gondolier
He might not be the next Pavarotti however your gondolier should have a respectable voice. They recognize all the old favourites as well as it makes the experience even more authentic. They usually request for a little bit added for the service on top of the hire charge. The most favoured time is around sundown as the lights are coming on making the representations in the water include in the ambience.
 7. Associating the Pope on Wednesday
Visitors, Nuns, Priests, locals and also pigeons group to Piazza San Pietro for the weekly address from his righteousness Pope Benedict XVI at around 10am. Afterwards you can check out the inside of the Basilica and the crypt where St Peter's remains are kept.
 8. Having a look at David's A-- e.
You might line up as well as pay to see the original inside the Accademia, where it was moved at the end of the 1800's to protect it from vandals and also the aspects. Or you might examine his duplicate up close in Piazza Signoria totally free, or you could climb up the hill over the Ponte Vecchio to see the bronze version standing in Piazza Michelangelo. Or you might see all 3 as well as make a comparison.
 9. Drinking red wine and seeing the sundown in Cinque Terre.
There is something rather one-of-a-kind about resting on the rocks alongside where the angling boats bring up, lights bobbing along the cables around the cove in the ocean breeze, listening to an individual practising his baritone opera through an open window, enjoying the sun sinking over the horizon drinking on an in your area made red after consuming house made pasta and pesto sauce. Perfect.
 10. Consuming Pizza in Napoli.
House of the Margherita pizza. A famous neighborhood pizza manufacturer Rafaelle Espositi heard the Queen of Naples wanted attempting a pizza so he made a patriotic one using basil, tomato and mozzarella for the colours of the Italian flag. She liked it a lot she provided her name to it. To be enjoyed while observing the kamikaze mobility scooters and also autos going hell for natural leather down the slim streets.
 11. Cliff Diving in Sorrento.
Except the faint hearted. Locals, usually young boys, rush up the steep high cliffs to leap off going down 10s of metres right into the large blue underneath. If that is means too over the top you can always take a mask and snorkel as well as wait around below.
 12. Calling your mum from the top of the Venice Campanile.
Believe it or otherwise there is a public pay phone at the top of the campanile so you can make that all important phone call to your mum, or maybe purchase a pizza for supper.
 13. A Glass Of Wine Tasting in Chianti.
There is a concept that the word Chianti originates from the old Etruscan word for water 'Clante', which is an evident connection to make if you consume alcohol a lot of Chianti. The rigorous production criteria established by the Consortium means the high quality of all kinds of the a glass of wine is consistent and also it's tough to find a negative one.
 14. Tossing a coin into the Trevi Fountain.
Yet don't go swimming unless you want to pay a significant fine. One coin means you return to Rome, two coins means you return as well as get kissed and also 3 coins suggests you return as well as get married. All the money obtains swept up regularly as well as provided to charity. The authorities likewise do not allow any individual stealing from the fountain. Put the coin( s) in your right hand as well as throw over your left shoulder. It's something enjoyable to do with the modification from your third gelato.
Cinque Terre Wine
 15. Checking Out the Sistine Church.
If you survive the 3km go through the instead extravagant Papal Spaces of the Vatican Gallery you will certainly be compensated with the mind-blowing sight of the Sistine Church ceiling. Developed sitting by Michelangelo, he usually repainted freehand straight onto the damp plaster, via belligerent Papal outbursts, monetary problems, staffing problems, slipping foundations, battles as well as ultimately completed after 4 years in 1512. Take tiny field glasses and also some sort of essential per fresco. The noise of every person stage whisper is only hushed by the guard shouting 'silencio' once in awhile.
And also do not sit on the actions.
 16. Strolling the slabs in a flooded Venice.
Among the much more initial experiences when visiting this watery city. Winter months rainfalls flooding the shallows and also when the trend is in the degree can rise to your knees. Practical residents have developed the remedy in the type of elevated systems so you can walk the planks around Piazza San Marco without obtaining your toes damp. Or you could buy some trendy rubber booties.
 17. Obtaining Grappa-ed (beverage way too much Grappa).
Every country has it's fire water. In Russia and Poland it's vodka, in Mexico it's Tequila, in Czech it's the Absinthe as well as in Italy it's Grappa. Distilled from the leftovers from pressing the grapes for red wine, all the pips, skins as well as stalks, it is usually intoxicated at the end of a dish after the espresso. The very first shot takes care of any kind of feeling in your throat as well as the 2nd and also third look after the rest of the nerves.
 18. Purchasing a Ferrari hat.
After football, the Pope and their own mom comes the nation's almost spiritual following of that little red car from Maranello. A lot of Italian chauffeurs show up to expensive themselves as the following Schumacher along the autostrada, consisting of the vehicle drivers, but you need to admit the cars and truck is awesome.
 19. Riding a scooter in Tuscany.
Winding country roads in between rolling eco-friendly hillsides, vine rows neatly cutting down the hillsides, wild blossoms in the areas and those tall cypress timber line the driveway to a mediaeval suite. All that fresh air and also the opportunity to take life at the neighborhood speed while unloading a tasty barbecue in some farmer's area.
 20. Completing a Bistecca alla Fiorentina (T bone Steak).
The rebirth of the Florentines favourite steak made national headings. The neighborhood celeb butcher from Panzano, Dario Cecchini had actually held a public funeral as well as funeral when the EU outlawed the sale of beef on the bone products after the mad cow scare a couple of years back. Currently it's back and also everyone is celebrating. Simply ensure you're really hungry for this set as it is big.
The general consensus was that these were all the things that should be done during a trip to Italy, together with all the usual art and history things certainly, in order that you get the most out of the trip.

La Grassa Indeed
This trip was as “spontaneous” as we can get when it comes to travelling. As I mentioned before, we usually plan trips at least a year in advance, but this particular one only happened because Osteria Francescana was announced as #1 at the 2018’s World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards mid-June and we wanted to try two #1’s in a row (2017 was Eleven Madison Park), so we decided to go for it. First, we had to make sure that we can get reservations. Reservations become available three months ahead of time at 10am Italy time, and just like NOMA, you need to make a reservation literally the second bookings open. This means that we were up at 3AM refreshing multiple devices to get in the queue to reserve a spot. Finally, at 4AM we were able to get through and make a reservation for mid-October.
The next choice was where to stay, our choices were Florence and Bologna, and we already spent some time in Florence in 2015, so this time we picked Bologna, and I would rate it as one of the top ten decisions we have ever made as a couple. Bologna is a food-lover’s dream come true. Tagliatelle al Ragu, Parmigiano Reggiano, Tortellini en Brodo, Prosciutto de Parma, Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, Amarone, Lambrusco – these all originate in Bologna or nearby towns within the Emilia-Romagna region (or Veneto for the Amarone). Bologna, itself, is a college town, home to the oldest university in the world – The University of Bologna was founded in 1088 – so the city felt like it was always abuzz with life and excitement. There were not a lot of the tour groups found in bigger cities, so the crowd size is just perfect. You can get into the popular restaurants and tourist sites with reasonable wait times.
Out of the seven days, we only actually got to spend one and a half full day in Bologna. Our first day was when we flew in, and although we got there early, it was a lot of running around trying to check in to our rental and buying groceries. We waited about half an hour to get into Sfoglia Rina for a delicious lunch and then we climbed the Duo Torre in the afternoon. It usually takes me a day or so to acclimate to a new city, but I instantly fell in love with Bologna.
One of the things I love about Italy is how close the next towns are by train and how cheap the train fares are. The next day, we took the train to Ravenna, a town just one hour and 20 minutes away, and the train fare was about 7 Euros. Ravenna is a small town and I will never forget how beautiful the mosaics that adorned its buildings. I have always been in awe by the diversity and uniqueness in culture, food, wine amongst the little Italian towns, and this is a prime example. I’ve been to a few towns in Italy and the mosaics are uniquely Ravenna’s. We also had a Piadina, which is basically a mortadella wrap, and this is also apparently unique to this town.
The third day, we took the earliest regional train to Verona. We left at 6AM and arrived in Verona shortly before 8AM. The fare was around 10 Euros. Verona was a very pleasant surprise for me. It reminded me very much of Florence. We visited the Arena, Giuletta’s Balcony, Piazza Delle Erbe, Castel San Pietro and Castel Vecchio Bridge. We had a snack of Prosciutto de Parma and Parmigiano Reggiano, and washed it down with some Aperol Spritz and Prosecco at a restaurant called La Tradision in the Old Town – I mean, can your day get more Italian than that? Well, the answer yes, because in the middle of everything, we also managed to take a bus to Piedemonte and do a winery tour at Tommasi. We sampled some Valpolicella wine, and of course bought a bottle of Amarone to take back home. Needless to say, someone (not me) was snoring on the train back to Bologna!
Day four is the reason why we were even Italy in the first place. The start to the day was a little later because we didn’t have to be in Modena until noon, and there didn’t seem to be much to explore in Modena. The train ride is only half an hour, and the train fare is just under 4 Euros. This was the first day we saw sunrise in Bologna. We arrived in Modena just shortly after 9AM and walked around the tiny town to explore. We visited the Modena Cathedral, Torre della Ghirlandina, Piazza Grande before heading over to Via Stella. There was quite a crowd waiting to get in for lunch, and many of them came from all over the world for the experience of dining here. Osteria Francescana has three Michelin stars and this isn’t the first time it won the honour of being the world’s best restaurant, and deservedly so. The service is top-notch, and the food was memorable. The one dish that stood out was the 5 ages of Parmigiano Reggiano. Basically, as the name implies, it’s five different ages of Parmigiano Reggiano, in five different textures – a 24-month demi-souffle, a 30-month rich sauce, a 36-month foam, a 40-month wafer and a 50-month “air” – and it was heavenly. I’m lactose intolerant but I learned that the aging process breaks down the lactose so now I know which cheese to buy if I don’t want to suffer afterwards! This was such a memorable dining experience but on top of that, I’m glad that because of this restaurant, we got to experience Emilia Romagna.
For our fifth day, we decided to give Venice another go. Last time we were in Venice, we didn’t really enjoy it because it was crowded, but we thought that maybe because it was the last two days of a two-week trip and we were just tired and sad about having go home. Sadly, the experience was not that much different this time around. We took the early train to Venice and took the ferry to Burano first. Burano is a pretty little town, but you must make sure you take the earliest ferry you can find to avoid the crowds. Every little alley or canal is picture perfect, with the pastel-coloured houses and little wine shops along the way. By the time we left around lunch time, it became hard to enjoy the views because the big tour groups started arriving. We returned to Venice and had spaghetti al nero di seppia (squid ink spaghetti) and it was just as amazing as I remember it from 2015. I have tried to find squid ink in Winnipeg to try and recreate this dish, and no luck. None of the Italian restaurants offer it so it will be a long while before I get to try this again. We tried to walk around Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco, but it was absolutely crowded and weren’t having fun, so we just decided to take the early train back to Bologna.
Our sixth day in Bologna was arguably the best day, in my opinion anyway. We booked a small group food and wine tour, and it was so worth it. There was about a dozen of us in the group, and we toured Emilia Romagna in a little air-conditioned van. Our tour guide’s name is Max and he reminded me of a young Michael Sheen. The first stop was the Parmigiano Reggiano factory where we learned how it is made. So, first things first, Parmigiano Reggiano must be aged at least 12 months for it to be considered Parmigiano Reggiano, and even then, it needs approval by the consortium. You can tell real Parmigiano Reggiano by the printing on its rind. The cheese barrels that does not meet the consortium’s standards are grated and sold as “Italian Cheese” - Parmesan is NOT Parmigiano Reggiano. Our next stop was a prosciutto factory, and although I found the process of making it interesting, all the pig legs hanging everywhere made me uncomfortable. I wouldn’t call myself a vegetarian, but I do avoid meat as much as I could. I wish I could be better and avoid it entirely. Our next stop was at Maranello for the Ferrari Tour. Indeed, what we signed up for was the food and wine tour, but we were given the option to skip the winery and test-drive a Ferrari in the streets of Maranello instead. I was already tipsy from drinking so much Lambrusco at the cheese and ham factory, and driving a Ferrari probably was a poor choice, so I decided to double down and go to the winery and drink some more. This is where my husband ditches me and chooses the Ferrari. I can’t say I blame him. We leave the Ferrari group and we went to the winery where they make Lambrusco. It was already October and harvest season was done, but we got to walk around the vineyards and ate some grapes off the vines. We also saw how Lambrusco was made and bottled. They fed us some more cheese and prosciutto and gave us more wine, and there were only five of us so there were lots to go around! The last stop was a Traditional Balsamic Vinegar factory where we learned the painstakingly long process of making balsamic vinegar. When I say balsamic vinegar, I mean what they call black gold, and not the stuff you get for $10 at the grocery store. We got to taste balsamic vinegar on everything – ice cream, cheese, bread. We got to taste a 30-year old one and I can’t possibly put into words how divine it was.
We also stopped for lunch at a local restaurant where they served tortellini, tortelloni, tagliatelle al ragu, more cheese and more Lambrusco. We met our fellow travelers from all over the world such as Sweden, Australia, Netherlands and the US. The most heartbreaking story was shared by an American man from New Hampshire. He was a retired teacher who has never travelled outside the US before in his life. He and his wife planned this trip for after they retire, but then she passed away in July, before they could go. He still decided to go on the trip and follow the itinerary that she prepared for them. Stories like this makes me realize that we should try to live life to its fullest. Life is temporary and tomorrows are not guaranteed. We need to enjoy it, be kind and make sure we leave this world in a better state than when we found it.
Our last full day was spent in Bologna. Each day we would return from our day trips, everything would be closed, so this day we got to visit Teatro Anatomico, the library, the cathedral, the towers and the shops. We ate more tortellini, tagliatelle, gelato, prosciutto and Parmigiano Reggiano. In the evening, we sat on the church steps at Piazza Maggiore and just laid there, looked at the stars and wished that the trip didn’t have to end. The following day was another adventure. From Bologna, we only had 40 minutes of layover in Munich where we could catch our Air Canada flight to Toronto, before heading home to Winnipeg. Just like their rail system, I also had 100% faith in Germany’s airports, so I was not worried. Besides, what is the worst-case scenario? We get to spend a night in Munich – not really the worst thing that can happen. We made it with minutes to spare in Munich (only because the Toronto flight was late), and then they almost wouldn’t let us board the plane to Winnipeg because we got into Toronto late and they were convinced our luggage wouldn’t make it on time, and they were right because the luggage were not on the carousel in Winnipeg and they had to deliver it the following day. We were very worried about the luggage because our bottles of Amarone were in there!
I know I say this about every trip, but this trip was a very pleasant surprise. We learned so much about the Emilia Romagna region and as food enthusiasts, this trip opened our eyes and palates to new tastes. Once quarantine is over, I will probably make Emilia Romagna one of the first places I will revisit.

Ferrari Racing Days 2019
Not since 2004 have we had such a religious experience at the track. That August, at the Monterey Historics featuring the cars of Ferrari, we saw scores of amazing and historic Ferraris and also some, at that time, modern F1 hardware. Back then, we were completely plugged into all things F1. Neither of us had yet to go to a race and we’d wake up at 4:30 am to watch the races live on SPEEDVISION. In 2004, F1 seemed very far away from us both literally and figuratively. The U.S. had its own race, but neither of us had the time or money to get to Indianapolis to witness it, so the thought of seeing the circus anywhere was a non-starter. We were both fans of Ferrari and Williams and sucked up every second of every race, watched every grainy video available on the internet, and bought every punitively priced F1 trade rag in sight to get all of news and conjecture we could find. (We appreciate that some of our younger followers might not be able to appreciate the struggle).
But we digress…
Anyway, all of a sudden, we were up close and personal with real F1 cars, Ferraris no less, and we were only 3 hours from home. What Ferrari factory driver Andrea Bertolini did for us that weekend in an F2002B and an ex-Schumacher F2003GA will remain forever etched in our brains by the banshee-like scream that emanated from some magnificent Ferrari V10s . (The hoots heard in this grainy video (below) were saturated with human tears #tifositears)
So now we fast forward to May of 2019 as the stuff of the Ferrari Racing Days occupied Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca for one glorious weekend. Ironically, our video technology has improved, yet it was the now 15 year old V10 in the Ferraris that made the day for every single person at the track. Sadly, F1 has become so advanced in the modern era it is often times unwatchable and lacking the audible and visual spectacle of the normally aspirated era.
This wasn’t the garden variety Ferrari Challenge weekend we’ve experienced several times in the past, both at Laguna Seca and Sonoma Raceway. This was the full beans, double barreled, tour de force “Ferrari Racing Days,” featuring the Ferrari Challenge cars, Clienti Program and XX Program(me) cars. As the 2004 Historics event and aforementioned F1 exhibition was a function of the Clienti program, we had some idea of what to expect. We thought we’d see “some” FXXs, maybe a handful of the La Ferrari based FXXK Evos, and maybe a few more cars from Ferrari’s fabled past. No matter the proportion of any of these things, it was going to be good.
What we got was a little bit more. Granted we didn’t see many pre 1990 (what happened to the carburetors?) cars anywhere at the event, we couldn’t begin to tell you now what was missing from the cars that Ferrari did bring for some of their most valued customers to drive around our most favorite racetrack. There was a single stunning Enzo based FXX and a gaggle of Curvy and winged 599XXs, but there were over 20 La Ferrari based FXXK Evos crowding the pit garages and unbelievably, that wasn’t even the best part. The best part were the 3 cars at the south end of the garage complex.
There rested two glorious F2004Ms, one ex Michael Schumacher (5 RACE WINNER) and the other ex Barrichello, and a gorgeous V12 powered 333 SP prototype. We’re not entirely sure what the cars in that garage complex were worth in money and history, but damn, it was breathtaking….literally. There was a moment before the the three cars went out to warm up on Saturday morning. One of the Clienti mechanics was warming up the 333 SP. That sound alone summoned us to record the moment on video. A few moments later, a group team of Clienti techs started one of the 04 F1 cars and the sounds began to ebb and wane, periodically drowning each other out. The concrete pillar I used to steady myself to shoot the video began to roil with every free rev and blip of the waking V12 and V10. A few moments later the second of the two cars was shut off and I looked over at the mechanic in charge of the 333 and said simply, '“Thank you.” Looking around at the other onlookers in the garage, we all nodded at each other with an unspoken understanding that we’d just witnessed something special to us…something that we probably won’t ever experience again.
How does one acquire a piece of the Scuderia? Ferrari has offered its F1 Clienti program since 2003 where the uber wealthy could pay for the ultimate uber toy, a former Ferrari F1 racecar. Prices are not advertised, but information indicates that median prices approach $4-5 million are grow from there based on provenance of the specific car. This is a lot of money for sure, but consider that this program provides for not the only costs as running a Formula 1 car, but also a full crew of factory mechanics with old laptops, spares, all the associated kit and institutional memory of Ferrari, depending on the vintage of car. The program manages all logistics associated with moving the cars around to various events. Most owners store their car at Maranello where Ferrari technicians maintain and service the cars and do the appropriate safety checks before the owner takes to a race weekend. As formula technology has advanced utilized hybrid technology Ferrari has suspended the sale of their modern F1 cars due to the risk associated with the electric technology.
The demonstration of the Ferrari F1 cars was an amazing reminder of the power and sound of Ferrari’s previous dominance of F1. That alone made the weekend. At one point we said to each other, “I’ve seen what I needed to see.”
But we weren’t done.
What made this event monumental is that it was the first time the rocket-ship-like Ferrari FXXK Evo cars have appeared in California. Year after year we’ve seen Ferrari bring out its XX program at other foreign and domestic tracks and events, just to be disappointed that California, home of great race tracks and and a solid car culture, has been left out of the celebration of this fantastic beast. What makes these XX cars so special? You can’t drive them on the road as they are not street legal. You can’t walk into a Ferrari dealership and buy one. Ferrari chooses/invites you to purchase one of these pinnacles of unregulated technological development. The latest maddening creation of the XX program is the Ferrari FXX K Evo, with over a 1000 horsepower, and only 40 examples ever made. It was sold out before it was even built, and buyers were chosen not just for their ability to foot the near $3 million dollar price tag, but also based on their history of Ferrari ownership and passion for the brand. The FXX K is the third XX model from Ferrari in the past decade. The Enzo morphed into the FXX in 2005 and the 599 GTB Fiorano spawned the 599XX in 2009.
For a long time the rumor was you could buy an XX Ferrari but that it had to be stored at the factory, and that as owner one had to request permission from Ferrari to bring it out on track. In 2016, Road & Track Magazine published an article on just that subject and even got a response from Ferrari:
The majority of the cars are stored in Maranello in the Corse Clienti department, but customers are free to have them at home. It is mandatory, however, to have a full review of the car by the Ferrari crew team before the car hits the track in any event or private testing session. Anytime the car is taken to the track, for an official Ferrari event or personal test session, there is always a mechanic and technician. He'll do the full check up when the car arrives at that said track.
The bread and butter….
The Ferrari Challenge is the longest-running single-marque racing series, and it's featured in three different regions around the world - North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. The events also include a paddock of road going Ferraris (for participants and Ferrari Club members etc.) for an additional motivation to put and keep the event on our calendar. (Sometimes the parking lot and/or car corals at Laguna Seca are worth a three hour dive)
The series was established in 1993 and races on tracks in FiA approved events around the world. Participants are Ferrari dealers or authorized race shops with three classes racing through a racing weekend.
There are also three categories for each race: Trofeo Pirelli, Trofeo Pirelli Am and Coppa Shell, which includes further classes like the Gentlemen Cup, for drivers over 55, and the Ladies Cup for women (available in Europe and Asia). This seemingly all inclusive format provides all who can foot the bill for participation, with an opportunity to race among those with their relative skill level, and also with some of the best sportscar talent on the planet. Competitors from each series are brought together at the annual World Finals (Finali Mondiali) event.
The foundation of the series these days is Ferrari's 488 Challenge, the first turbo powered car to be raced in the Challenge. The 488 Challenge is based on the 488 GTB road car, with 670HP, just over the road car’s 660HP. That alone doesn't seem like much (relatively speaking), but the Challenge has other tricks. Optimized engine mapping and shorter gear ratios provide power off the line while body work inspired by the the 2016 FiA World Endurance Championship-winning 488 GTE provides better downforce and stability. It’s eight seconds faster around the Fiorano test circuit than the 488GTB road car.
The Ferrari Racing Days at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca briefly pulled back the curtain on the mystery and aura of the XX and Corsa Clienti programs and lived up to its jaw dropping display of technological mastery exhibited by the folks at Maranello. We witnessed about half of the Ferrari FXXK’s ever manufactured, lot’s of other things with “X” in their name, more 488s and 456s than you could shake a stick at and a car corral with enough supercars in it to make you think Ferraris were as common as Honda Civics. The sensory overload was so much that we forgot bout the Ferrari Challenge itself. Its easy to forget when seeing these track designed thoroughbreds that Ferrari is one of the smallest automakers in the world.
Finally, we want to give a shout out to the management, media relations department and all the staff at Laguna Seca for hosting this event and for putting up with us for a weekend.
As always, we encourage you to scroll down to see our gallery, as our pictures usually much better than our prose.
Enjoy.

2019 Ferrari 488 Pista Engine Tech Deep Dive
Ferrari is rightfully proud of its rich history of designing and building high-performance engines, winning races with them, and winning international awards for them. These include 21 different class awards in the Britain-based International Engine of the Year Awards (founded in 1999), including overall Engine of the Year honors for the 488 GTB’s current 3.9-liter twin-turbo V-8 (code-named F154 CB) in 2016 and ’17. The company is gunning for a threepeat by substantially redesigning and upgrading that engine for duty in its new 488 Pista.
We shared what we learned about the Ferrari 488 Pista in the weeks leading up to its Geneva show debut in March, and then a week later the company invited IEOTY judges to Maranello for a deep dive into the engine tech and an opportunity to flog this road-legal track star on the famed Fiorano circuit and in the hills above the Scuderia’s hometown. It was indeed a very good time to be an engine nerd, and after you read my nerdy learnings about this new F154 CD engine below, click by fellow IEOTY judge Angus MacKenzie’s account of how the 488 Pista drives.
As recent race-ready street-legal Ferrari specials go, this one enjoys the biggest bump in output, gaining 49 hp and 6 lb-ft for an impressive total of 710 horses and 567 lb-ft. That tops prior V-8 special edition improvements like the 458 Speciale’s gain of 35/0, the F430 Scuderia’s 20/0, and the 360 Challenge Stradale’s 25/0. It even tops the V-12-powered F12tdf’s 38 horses and 11 lb-ft. How’d they do it? The nerdy way: by sweating small details that improve engine breathing, as well as reducing rotational inertia, friction, and turbo lag.
On the breathing front, nearly everything involved with inhaling and exhaling is new. To begin with, the engine-air intake moves from just ahead of the rear wheels to a high-pressure, cooler-air region near the rear spoiler. Air molecules are quickly filtered and sucked into the turbos (more about that in a moment) before passing through new 7 percent larger intercoolers that use all the cooling air entering those openings ahead of the rear tires. That means the charge-air delivered is a crucial 11 degrees cooler. Next the air flows into one of two carbon-fiber intake plenums, each of which is 41 percent smaller, before whooshing down one of four intake runners that are 60 percent shorter. The smaller intake tract is quicker to pressurize, but the main objective was altering the resonance supercharging effect.
Here’s how that works: When an intake valve slams shut, it sends a shockwave back up the runner that reflects off the open plenum and bounces back toward the valves. Instead of sizing the runners so that the returning shockwave helps cram a bit more air into the cylinder just before the valve closes again, these shorter runners produce a slight negative pressure just before the valve closes at high engine speeds. This, along with the better intercooling, actually helps reduce in-cylinder peak temperatures by about 12 degrees. A cooler cylinder reduces knock sensitivity, so the spark can be advanced to produce about 10 extra horses. Oh, and all valves open 1mm wider than in the base engine.
Exhalation starts out in a robotically welded Inconel exhaust manifold with 10 percent larger-diameter pipes that are also 30 percent longer for more optimal flow than in the stock engine’s cast manifolds. Together, they also weigh 21 pounds less. From there, it’s a whoosh through the turbos, the catalysts, the muffler, and out the back of the car. This thin-wall (1mm) exhaust plumbing yields an engine note that’s 5–8 decibels louder inside. The frequencies are also said to be higher and better in quality, but no turbo Ferrari’s baritone note will ever be mistaken for a naturally aspirated one’s soprano wail.
On the rotational inertia front, the counterweights on the flat-plane crankshaft’s middle throws are trimmed for a 2.6-pound weight savings, and the flywheel is lightened by a further 3.3 pounds. F1-style titanium connecting rods save a total of 3.7 pounds and stand up better to the 10 percent greater structural loads generated by the higher (1,740-psi) peak cylinder pressures. Toward that end, the pistons also get thicker crowns and wrist pins with a new diamondlike carbon coating material for reduced friction. Compression increases from 9.4:1 to 9.6:1. New hollow intake valve stems save almost a half ounce each, which is meaningful at the speeds they’re bouncing up and down. Total rotational inertia is down by 17 percent, so the engine’s eagerness to rev improves by that amount. A lightened A/C compressor, thinner cylinder liners, and assorted other weight trimmings add up to an engine that’s 40 pounds lighter.
On the turbo-lag-reduction front, the IHI/Honeywell turbos already use ultra-light titanium aluminide turbine wheels, which Ferrari machines along with the seal plates behind them. Those seal plates use “abradable seals” that minimize the compressor-seal gaps to improve efficiency by 2 percent. New ball bearings reduce friction in these turbos by 30 percent, and peak boost rises from the standard 488’s 20 psi to 22 psi. Another big turbo upgrade is the addition of Hall-effect speed sensors that count the turbine blades as they pass to more precisely determine each turbo’s exact speed. Every turbo has a maximum permissible speed, and engines that compute turbo speed from other engine parameters can’t push the turbos right to their limits as this one can.
Ferrari really wanted this turbo engine to feel like a naturally aspirated one, and that mission appears to have been accomplished. Their metric for this: time to 90 percent power when matting the accelerator from a 2,000-rpm cruising speed in third gear. The 458 Italia took 0.6 second, the 488 Pista needs 0.8. Another measure: time to peak intake plenum pressure when transitioning from 40 to 100 percent throttle opening, which is 0.3 second quicker now. Another measure: The official Fiorano lap time drops from 1:23.0 to 1:21.5.
Some of the above parts are borrowed directly or adapted slightly from the racing versions of the F154 engine that go in the 488 GTE and Challenge cars: the turbos, crankshaft, exhaust manifolds, and cylinder liners. Brand-new for this engine are the titanium con-rods, intake plenums, intake valves, pistons, pins, and camshafts. In all, 50 percent of the F154 CD parts differ from those of the base 488’s CB engine. Oh, and one final bit of cake icing: The Pista’s Euro-spec CO2 emissions drop from 0.39 to 0.37 grams/kilometer. #PistaSavesThePlanet!

What’s more, for this celebration, which is practically total, the kind of individuals who can hear a dollar charge dropped on a cover of hair will be solicited to pay the mass from a hundred substantial. There might be resistance.

His modest creator keeps on being a piece of the testing and improvement group (otherwise called the proprietor of the body) for the Lamborghini-36 years after the dispatch of the auto. Also, for quite a long time, Maserati was another joke that affirmed the run the show.
Be that as it may, subsequent to going through the hands of a few land proprietors in the lap of Fiat Chrysler, the possibilities of 2017 Maserati Ghibli have never been something more. The brand needs to dramatically multiply its worldwide deals in 2015, to 50,000 units for each year, with a blast of new items.

Since it beyond any doubt is not the data and stimulation unit average fallen angels of the Dodge Charger. On the other hand, a drive framework that deserts amongst sit out of gear and full power. On the other hand, the seats that will be Christmas come right on time for chiropractors.
On the off chance that Maserati’s desire is to be more than the warm twist of the Ghibli bears his name, the organization must face these issues now while as yet having his finger on the reset catch of the brand.
A large number of the Ghibli propose an inordinate surge, beginning with his name, which appears to have sufficiently stole Giugiaro’s two-entryway, 1967-1973 two-situate gem. Regardless, the new auto ought to have been named for the later Kyalami, a 2 + 2, which was additionally an abbreviated Quattro Porte.
In any case, that is a little grievance. All the more critically, the style is not sufficiently enthusiastic. The extents of Ghibli back convertible summon the past Q’porte as well, yet are performed in considerably heavier and easier terms, particularly in the back third, where the hips require liposuction.
The back is anonymous to the point that it will be mistaken for any number of Asian contenders. On the off chance that a Maserati is not the most lovely auto in its portion, what is it?

The front seats have focal segments that vibe like cowhide wrapped around the mahogany boards. What’s more, these boards project, which dependably pushes out of the seat and let your upper back and bears hanging unsupported. Following 60 minutes, our back was spastic.
Following seven days, it builds up a specific deadness of it, which thusly permits your thoughtfulness regarding the front. The outline of the lodge is basic, with fanatics of calfskin upholstery and substantial sections of carbon fiber highlight emphasize.

Critical note from Fiat Chrysler: “The charger has none” is not a reason that will fly with these purchasers.
