Enterprise BI Solutions - WhizAI
Guidelines of Enterprise BI Solutions for Businesses
Enterprise BI solutions provide a comprehensive set of tools and data that businesses can use to manage their operations. Organizations can use these solutions to gather data from various sources, analyze it, and make informed decisions. There are a few key guidelines that should be followed when selecting an enterprise BI solution. First, the solution should be able to accommodate the organization's specific needs. Second, the solution should be easy to use and integrate into existing systems.
What enterprise BI solutions are available?
Enterprise BI solutions are available that can help businesses make more informed decisions and track their performance. There are a variety of different solutions, and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Some common enterprise BI solutions include business intelligence (BI) suites, data mining software, analytic tools, and reporting services. It is important to choose the right solution for your business needs, as each has its own set of features and benefits. Choosing the right BI solution can help improve efficiency and communication within your organization.
What are the benefits of using enterprise BI?
Enterprise BI solutions can provide organizations with a wealth of data analysis and reporting capabilities, helping to improve decision making and performance. Here are some of the benefits of using enterprise BI:
- Easier navigation and access to data: Enterprise BI solutions make it easier for users to find the information they need quickly and easily. This can help to reduce wasted time and effort, as users can access data more efficiently.
- Improved decision making: By providing users with quick access to relevant data, enterprise BI solutions can help them make better decisions faster. This can result in improved efficiency and productivity, as well as greater success in achieving organisational goals.
- Greater insights into business operations: Enterprise BI solutions can provide analysts and developers with deep insights into how businesses operate, enabling them to make better informed decisions about future strategy.
Different types of enterprise BI solutions
Enterprise BI solutions vary in their functionality, data sources, and pricing. This variety can make it difficult to decide which solution is best for your business. The following sections explore some of the most common types of enterprise BI solutions.
Data Warehouse Solutions: A data warehouse is a repository of information that can be used to analyze business trends and performance. Data warehouses are typically built using Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle Database and feature a wide range of reporting tools and analytics capabilities. Some of the most popular data warehouse solutions include Microsoft Excel 2016 PowerPivot Add-in, SAS software, and Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c Datacenter Edition.
Reporting Services Solutions: Reporting Services provides powerful reporting capabilities that can be used to generate detailed reports on everything from sales performance to customer churn rate.
Why choose a specific enterprise BI solution?
There are many factors to consider when choosing a BI solution for an enterprise. One key factor is the specific needs of the organization. Some businesses need a solution that can centralize data across multiple departments, whereas others may only need a tool for reporting on current status. Additionally, different solutions are better suited for different industries. For example, financial institutions may need more robust capabilities than retail businesses.
Once the needs of the enterprise have been determined, the next step is to evaluate which BI solution is best suited for that specific organization. There are many options available in the market today and it can be difficult to decide which one is right for your business. A few factors to consider include pricing, features, scalability, and integration capability. Ultimately, it is important to speak with an expert who can help you find the right BI solution for your organization.
Conclusion
Enterprise BI solutions can provide valuable insights for businesses of all sizes. However, it is important to consider the specific needs of your business before making a decision. By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your BI solution meets your specific needs and goals. Part of the ship part of the crew
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Working closely with the Tacticians, as a Sr. Joining the Oracle Analytics crew meant I would be boarding a ship that is setting its sails to a future with truly governed and secure data exploration, smooth sailing across data preparation, and an embedded one-click compass to provide direction for smart data analysis!
Tumblr media
While this is only scratching the surface of those who make up the strong Oracle Analytics crew, I knew that this crew is where I wanted to lower my anchor. Principal Architect, acting as the Pit Crew Boss, he shows how leveraging these waves of data correctly using the advanced analytics, AI, ML, and data visualizations capabilities within Oracle Analytics can make a ship (or your company) fly! In a sea of data, the journey ahead may appear intimidating, but with Jignesh Mehta, our Sr. Working closely with the trimmers (Aziza) to find the fastest way around the course, Clayton's role is crucial to the success of Oracle Analytics and the journey we are taking! His ability to get the most out of his crew-mates is second to none. Our Tactician, Rich Clayton, VP of Analytics Product Management, is responsible for getting the boat around the course and providing the strategy to give the Oracle Analytics crew the best advantage. His contagious energy rubs off on the the rest of the crew and pushes us to live out the "all hands on deck" mentality. Bruno is a leader with decades of experience in Data, Analytics, and AI. Our Mainsheet Trimmer, who's responsible for the crew's runners and for maintaining the speed and momentum of the ship is none other than Bruno Aziza, our GVP of AI, Analytics & Cloud. The impact that our Skipper has made on the world of data, platform, and application is far from done! His competitiveness and drive to be the best is infectious. Putting my faith in the leadership of a technologist, like Larry, our ship's Skipper, is easy to do. It is exciting to board a ship that is setting its sails under Oracle's founder and CTO, Larry Ellison. Just like the crew that races for Oracle Team USA, the Oracle Analytics crew strives to be the best too! Let me describe the Oracle Analytics Crew: This time around I was the one getting my hands dirty playing with OBIEE 12c! From building interactive dashboards to writing in-depth reports on the advanced analytics features offered in the product, I was getting a clearer vision of where Oracle was taking BI. Jumping ahead a year, I got the privilege to work for and learn from Oracle ACE directors Kevin McGinley and Stewart Bryson at Red Pill Analytics. From the day Rich grabbed my notebook and became a cartographer to this very day, the Bay Area map has been folded in my wallet as an internal reminder that I had to get to the place with the circle and star around it.I had to get to Oracle! Not just any map, this map was simple but crucially important for this specific Brendan ( Doyle) The Navigator! This map was Rich's rough sketch of the Bay Area with Redwood Shores (RWS), Oracle's HQ being circled and starred. Besides gaining further affirmation that going into the analytics field was a smart choice, I also gained a map. After learning more and more about the work Oracle was doing to impact the analytics world from Rich and Mitch, I knew I wanted to be part of it.

It's IBM Cognos BI 10.2 running an Ellucian Banner database on Oracle 12c. It's the unholy Union All of like four different strains of sql, plus some more IBM half assery.
Regarding APL, no, I have not heard of it. I would recommend you look into golfing languages such as Jelly, though.

SELECT
    country_id,
    city,
    state
FROM
    locations
ORDER BY
    state ASC NULLS FIRST;
 null değerlerini önce getiriyor
SELECT
   country_id,
   city,
   state
FROM
   locations
ORDER BY
   state
ASC NULLS LAST;
Null değerlerini sonda getiriyor
  Ya da
select distinct department_name,manager_id
from departments
order by
manager_id nulls first
  To retrieve data from one or more columns of a table, you use the SELECT statement with the following syntax:
 SELECT
  column_1,
  column_2,
  ...
FROM
  table_name;
 SORTING DATA
To sort data, you add the ORDER BY clause to the SELECT statement as follows:
SELECT
    column_1,
    column_2,
    column_3,
FROM
    table_name
ORDER BY
    column_1 [ASC | DESC] [NULLS FIRST | NULLS LAST],
    column_1 [ASC | DESC] [NULLS FIRST | NULLS LAST],
    ...
 FILTERING DATA
 The following illustrates the syntax of the SELECT DISTINCT statement:
 SELECT DISTINCT
  column_1
FROM
  table;
  SELECT DISTINCT
  first_name
FROM
  contacts
ORDER BY
  first_name;
   The WHERE clause specifies a search condition for rows returned by the SELECT statement. The following illustrates the syntax of the WHERE clause:
 SELECT
    column_1,
    column_2,
    ...
FROM
    table_name
WHERE
    search_condition
ORDER BY
    column_1,
    column_2;
 SELECT
    product_name,
    description,
    list_price,
    category_id
FROM
    products
WHERE
    product_name = 'Kingston';
     Oracle provides you with many other comparison operators illustrated in the following table:
Operator
Description
=
Equality
!=,<>
Inequality
Greater than
Less than
>=
Greater than or equal  to
<=
Less than or equal to
IN
Equal to any value in  a list of values
ANY/ SOME / ALL
Compare a value to a  list or subquery. It must be preceded by another  operator such as =, >, <.
NOT IN
Not equal to any value  in a list of values
[NOT] BETWEENn and m
Equivalent to [Not]  >= n and <= y.
[NOT] EXISTS
Return true if  subquery returns at least one row
IS [NOT] NULL
NULL test
  SELECT
    product_name,
    list_price
FROM
    products
WHERE
    list_price > 500;
   SELECT
    product_name,
    list_price
FROM
    products
WHERE
    list_price > 500
    AND category_id = 4;
  SELECT
    product_name,
    list_price
FROM
    products
WHERE
    list_price BETWEEN 650 AND 680
ORDER BY
    list_price;
  SELECT
    product_name,
    category_id
FROM
    products
WHERE
    category_id IN(1, 4)
ORDER BY
    product_name;
  SELECT
product_name,
list_price
FROM
products
WHERE
product_name LIKE 'Asus%'
ORDER BY
list_price;
  If one of the expressions is false, the AND operator returns false.
The syntax of the AND operator is as follows:
 expression_1 AND expression_2
 The following table illustrates the result when you combine the true, false, and a NULL value using the AND operatör
  When you use more than one logical operator in a statement, Oracle always evaluates the AND operators first. However, you can use parentheses to change the order of evaluation.
  SELECT
order_id,
customer_id,
status,
order_date
FROM
orders
WHERE
status = 'Pending'
AND customer_id = 2
ORDER BY
order_date;
 The following illustrates the syntax of the OR operator:
expression_1 AND expression_2
The following table shows the results the OR operator between true, false, and a NULL value.
SELECT
    order_id,
    customer_id,
    status,
    order_date
FROM
    orders
WHERE
    status = 'Pending'
    OR status = 'Canceled'
ORDER BY
    order_date DESC;
  Oracle FETCH clause 12c için
Some RDBMS such as MySQL and PostgreSQL have the LIMIT clause that allows you to retrieve a portion of rows generated by a query.
See the following products and inventories tables in the sample database.
 SELECT
product_name,
quantity
FROM
inventories
INNER JOIN products
USING(product_id)
ORDER BY
quantity DESC
LIMIT 5;
ORACLE’da LIMIT yok, bu yüzden FETCH kulanıyoruz.
 SELECT
    product_name,
    quantity
FROM
    inventories
INNER JOIN products
        USING(product_id)
ORDER BY
    quantity DESC
FETCH NEXT 5 ROWS ONLY;
    IN               NOT IN
SELECT
    order_id,
    customer_id,
    status,
    salesman_id
FROM
    orders
WHERE
    status IN(
        'Pending',
        'Canceled'
    )
ORDER BY
    order_id;
  SELECT
    order_id,
    customer_id,
    status,
    salesman_id
FROM
    orders
WHERE
    status NOT IN(
        'Shipped',
        'Canceled'
    )
ORDER BY
    order_id;
 The following illustrates the syntax of the BETWEEN operator:
expression [ NOT ] BETWEEN low AND high
 SELECT
    product_name,
    standard_cost
FROM
    products
WHERE
    standard_cost BETWEEN 500 AND 600
ORDER BY
    standard_cost;
SELECT
    product_name,
    standard_cost
FROM
    products
WHERE
    standard_cost NOT BETWEEN 500 AND 600
ORDER BY
    product_name;
  SELECT
    order_id,
    customer_id,
    status,
    order_date
FROM
    orders
WHERE
    order_date BETWEEN DATE '2016-12-01' AND DATE '2016-12-31'
ORDER BY
    order_date;
 Sometimes, you want to query data based on a specified pattern. For example, you may want to find contacts whose last names start with 'St' or first names end with 'er'.
In this case, you use the Oracle LIKE operator.
The syntax of the Oracle LIKE operator is as follows:
SELECT
    first_name,
    last_name,
    phone
FROM
    contacts
WHERE
    last_name LIKE 'St%'
ORDER BY
    last_name;
  SELECT
    first_name,
    last_name,
    phone
FROM
    contacts
WHERE
    last_name LIKE '%er'
ORDER BY
    last_name;
  SELECT
  first_name, last_name, phone
FROM
  contacts
WHERE
  phone NOT LIKE '+1%'
ORDER BY
  first_name;
