I immediately thought of the quote from Lao Tzu from the Tao, "The softest things in the world, overcome the hardest things in the world. Water is the softest thing, yet it can penetrate mountains and earth. This clearly shows the principle of softness overcoming hardness." People usually think of empathy and kindness as being weakness. The opposite is true. There have been scientific studies on this: see the book, The War for Kindness by Jamil Zaki. Today your are being guided to be gentle, serene, and kind in your approach to all things. You may also find that people are acting kind towards you. Maybe people are also doing things to get your attention because they crave kindness and compassion. This may try your patience. Respond with compassion. It's good karma. Sunday, March 22nd, Strategy. The Door to Spirit, & the Thinking Woman. Today you are being called to come up with a strategy in regards to how you will deal with the uncertain and scary energy that we are facing. Having a strategy in place will allow you to focus and keep you active. If you are not sure about how you want to approach things, start keeping a journal. I also feel like there are some of you who are being called to write. Do it! After you have come up with a strategy, release it. Do not be overly attached to the outcome, hence the card to "The Door to Spirit." Let the universe do its work. Do not over think things. Sometimes, it is challenging not to let the analytical part of our mind completely take over and lead us down a rabbit hole of skepticism. There does need to be a balance. Thursday, March 19th, Healing the Earth: I recently purchased several decks of oracle cards. This one is called the "Oracle of the Hidden Worlds," by Lucy Cavendish. I always do a short meditation while I shuffle the cards.The card I pulled is "Healing the Earth. We will get through the tumultuous and terrifying time. It's important to pull together and help one another. Open your heart. It's easy to get angry and blame people. There is a lot of that going on at the moment. There is a lot of selfishness and greed going on at the moment. Don't get swept up in it, because if you are afraid it will exacerbate your fear, and make your situation worse. You are doing the best that you can. Be gentle and patient with yourself and others. Try and be as mindful of your thoughts and actions as you can. Choose to be compassionate and helpful. Monday, March 16th: Diligence, Taking Risks, Enlightenment. Sunday's card was the Fox Spirit - being able to think quickly on your feet. I felt that energy would continue throughout the week. For Monday we have Diligence, Taking Risks, and Enlightenment. Once again, your are being called to be mindful, observant, and focused. Take care to be aware if what is going on around you and give your attention to details. Now is not the time to take any risks; however, if you feel you have no choice, be prepared. The last card is enlightenment. Stay informed. Sometimes, when I do 3 card readings, the second card is always the one that speaks to me strongly. Avoid taking risks. You may be in a situation where you don't have a choice, and you will have to think quickly on your feet. For this reason, it is always wise to be calm, focused, and mindful of everything around you. Sunday, March 15th, Fox Spirit: You may feel as if you have to make hasty decisions. This is not necessarily the case for everyone. The energy is really bizarre and it is a culmination of people misinterpreting things due to fear that has been feeding itself. Situations and circumstances are not what they seem. A message that keeps coming up again and again is "meditate and trust your intuition." Quieting your mind, going inside, slowing down and paying attention to the information you receive will help you. Being able to make quick decisions comes from a place of knowing. When I meditate, it is easier for me to think on my feet with great clarity. Be very observant today and pay attention to what goes on around you. For what may seem like a surprise won't be if you are mindful. Some of you are extremely distrustful of a person or a situation and are waiting for the "sh*t to hit the fan" sometime this week. Meditate. Stay calm and focused. Being overly emotional and unfocused will make the situation worse. Whoever it is has no idea what they are doing and is only making a mess of things. Monday, March 9th, To Be Fair: I have not posted in several days because I started a new job, and I have been adjusting psychologically and physically. We all know it is never a good idea to try and do a reading if you are tired and/or not feeling well. I took the break I needed. Thank you for your patience. Today's card is "To Be Fair." This card is from Collette Baron-Reid's Wisdom of the Oracle deck.This card is like the "Justice" card in that it is calling for balance. Furthermore, the owl in the picture represents wisdom and oversight. There is a lot of crazy energy going on with the news of the Corona Virus. This card is telling us to weigh our options, don't believe everything we read, see, or hear. Get informed. Get another viewpoint. Do not get lost in the fear and the hype. Center yourself. Approach things with a sense of equanimity. Panicking and letting fear take over does nothing for your immune system. There will also be people who love to take advantage of situations like this. Some of you may see this in the workplace - the one coworker who keeps a running checklist of all the people who don't wash their hands after using the bathroom, or the people who don't wash their hands long enough after using the bathroom, and then everyone in the entire building knows about these "disease ridden" people and their crimes against humanity. Do not get sucked into petty situations. Ignore them. The phrase "off kilter" comes up. Things will definitely feel "off kilter" for a while. Come up with a plan to stay centered and calm. Don't deviate from it. You may observe people behaving in unusual ways. Do not let their energy adulterate yours. As you notice, my tone may be a bit cheeky as I type this, and I am overcome with the desire to start laughing.There is more hysteria surrounding this issue then fact, and like a virus, hysteria will spread.
