hails from montreal, quebec, ca. he lived there until he was thirteen, at which point his father moved the family back to his hometown of berkeley after grandma bacon passed away.

managed to adjust to the move pretty well. certainly, he hated the culture shock. he hated his noticeable accent. he missed the snow in the winter. he missed his friends. living in his late grandparents’ house didn’t ease things either. however, his fam found him a youth hockey league to play in; he fell into a friend group thanks to his smarts and church groups; and in general, he tends to spin things in a positive direction.

that said, he’s sardonic af. yeah, he views things in a positive light, and in the grand scheme of things he has zero qualms adapting to something that interrupts his routine, but if he comments on it, it’s going to come out bitter. why does he do it? he thinks it’s Funny.

family life? it wasn’t all gung-ho, but they weren’t dysfunctional by any means. his parents emphasized hard work, good manners, and modesty and that has stuck with him over the years.

first impression? he’s the perfect gentleman. he can hold up appearances in front of a certain demographic. spend more than two seconds with him and he’s not trying to be professional? you’ll see the snark. :~)

“if we’re paying for your college you need to major in something that will get you a job straight out of college.” nursing school it was. the four years was a breeze for him, but only because he was focused 95% on his studies. “get in, get out, get job.” so he did.

when his younger sister graduated high school, his mom was ready to move back to montreal. southern life wasn’t for her, but his dad still wasn’t ready to sell his parents’ house. “chris, do you want to live in it?”

he thought it was insane that his parents were basically giving him a house (at least temporarily, now indefinitely), who does that, but he was happy with his job locally and living rent free was a sweet deal?? how could he say no???

that’s the main reason he’s stuck around this long, tbh, but now he’s thoroughly established here with a job he loves, friends he adores, and a beautiful fiancée.

(pretends he) has zero tolerance for stupidity. makes sarcastic remarks when people are surprised when they state the obvious. looks into an invisible camera like he’s on the office when he can’t believe something is happening right in front of him.

list of things he says when rendered speechless: “but at what cost??” “so... it has come to this.” “in this economy?” “is this why fate brought us together?”

loves wit and banter. the west wing was the Best Show of All-Time™. can be a bit melodramatic. dabbles on the piano. (in another life he would’ve tried to become a professional musician.) don’t make him pick between coffee and beer. enjoys roadtrips and music festivals. sunday drives? a+++++

buys sticky notes in bulk because he doodles and leaves notes & reminders all over the place. you know how some people have receipts coming out of their ears? that’s him with his post-its.

but honestly... under all his dry wit he really does care about people. a lot. he wants to help. he’s subtle when he expresses his love. his snide comments aren’t always him being a shady tree.

he’s currently engaged to alyx watson and he’s absolutely crazy about her!!!!! they’re loud and wild and if someone didn’t know better, an outside glance might leave the impression they can’t stand each other because they feed off of each other’s sarcasm. they’re equals in every way tho

this right here is ellis nash. he’s the fifth child (fourth still alive) of president richard nash, at twenty-seven years old.

he was nine when his father entered the white house and seventeen when his second term came to an end, so it’s safe to say he spent a decent amount of his childhood and adolescence in the most iconic and powerful building in the country.

growing up with a president as a father was fun at first, but at around the age of fifteen, when ellis realised that he was different from his other siblings, things started to strain on the boy. after all, a president with a gay son would have been big news.

it wasn’t until he went off to college, did he come out to his family, and a few months after that an asshole of a classmate managed to snap a photo of him making out with a guy at a college party so news of his sexuality was quickly snatched up by the media and he became tabloid fodder for a short while. perez hilton actually started calling him ‘gayby face’.

he’s a caring guy, and very easy to get along with. quite down to earth, when asked by a reporter interviewing the nash children, during his father’s second term, what it’s like to live in the white house he responded with; “it’s just a house... but there’s a bowling alley too.”

ellis is always willing to stand up for what he believes in, and will voice his thoughts and opinions whenever he wishes. he’s been on several political talkshows to discuss issues, mainly because of his rising popularity within the gay community and continued campaigning for equality.

whilst he never sees himself rising as high as his father; he can see himself one day having a seat in congress, or perhaps a governorship, or if one of his siblings were to run for the presidency he would most definitely make a play for campaign manager and eventually chief of staff.

ideal plots for him are; family love, a best friend/bromance with a straight guy, close friends (both male and female), some former/current flings, and someone to fall in love with.

» if she were any normal girl, sawyer blake would call berkeley, south carolina home. however, she doesn’t exactly know much about the place. sure, the twenty-seven year old was born in the small town of 15,000, but she didn’t spend much time here until about two years ago.

» shortly after sawyer was born, her single mother ditched a stationary dwelling in preference for a more exciting lifestyle. together, their small family, with the eventual addition of sawyer’s little sister, traveled the states and lived out of a mobile caravan. 

» six months to a year was the average time frame in which the blake’s would typically stay in one place. sawyer was often combative with her mother as a child and protested nearly every time she felt the urge to pick up and go. there was always a reason they had to leave, and it was something sawyer wouldn’t understand for a long time.

» sawyer never knew her father, and her mother likely wouldn’t know his exact identity if it wasn’t for her daughter’s obvious latin features. the subject was always curious to sawyer, but her mother was consistently quick to dismiss any questions she might have had about the man.

» during her years in education, sawyer had attended a total of nine different schools across the states. eight months in atlanta, thirteen in pensacola, five in new orleans...it was a miracle that the girl managed to obtain any friends at all. without a stable career held by her mother, college or university had always been out of the question.

» as sawyer matured, she grew more grateful for the opportunity she had to see more of the country than most people she met through the years. she had her favorite places; wilmington, nashville, napa valley, and miami to name a few. however, there were also the places that nothing good came out of.

» las vegas was where the blake’s spent their last months as wayfarers. sawyer was twenty-five, and her little sister had just reached the legal drinking age. it was a celebratory night on the strip that ended in a traumatic situation. their mother, who had always struggled with substance abuse, had overdosed while the two of them had been out. the blake’s greeted the next morning in a hospital room, their mother’s life somehow still in tact.

» after the incident, sawyer, her sister and mother made the move back to berkely, a place that felt odd to call ‘home’. when it was clear that her mom wasn’t adjusting well to such a drastic change of pace, sawyer went out and grabbed herself a bartending job in efforts to support her small family.

» it’s been two years since calling the south carolina town home, and she’s been adjusting particularly well. sawyer puts on a brave face and makes it a point to keep her inner demons hidden from public view. this is the longest sawyer has ever been in one place, and she never expected to actually like settling down. 

needs: okay, so i mentioned sawyer’s little sister a lot and i think it would be nice to have her younger sibling around? i’m open to any gender, despite having called her a sister in this blurb. age would have to be 23 to fit well with the timeline, and they’d be half-siblings with different dads...so they don’t even have to look similar. also, sawyer is character c in the coyote ugly-esque plot prompt and characters a, d, and e are still open!!! you know it would be fun.........
