this right here is ellis nash. he’s the fifth child (fourth still alive) of president richard nash, at twenty-seven years old.

he was nine when his father entered the white house and seventeen when his second term came to an end, so it’s safe to say he spent a decent amount of his childhood and adolescence in the most iconic and powerful building in the country.

growing up with a president as a father was fun at first, but at around the age of fifteen, when ellis realised that he was different from his other siblings, things started to strain on the boy. after all, a president with a gay son would have been big news.

it wasn’t until he went off to college, did he come out to his family, and a few months after that an asshole of a classmate managed to snap a photo of him making out with a guy at a college party so news of his sexuality was quickly snatched up by the media and he became tabloid fodder for a short while. perez hilton actually started calling him ‘gayby face’.

he’s a caring guy, and very easy to get along with. quite down to earth, when asked by a reporter interviewing the nash children, during his father’s second term, what it’s like to live in the white house he responded with; “it’s just a house... but there’s a bowling alley too.”

ellis is always willing to stand up for what he believes in, and will voice his thoughts and opinions whenever he wishes. he’s been on several political talkshows to discuss issues, mainly because of his rising popularity within the gay community and continued campaigning for equality.

whilst he never sees himself rising as high as his father; he can see himself one day having a seat in congress, or perhaps a governorship, or if one of his siblings were to run for the presidency he would most definitely make a play for campaign manager and eventually chief of staff.

ideal plots for him are; family love, a best friend/bromance with a straight guy, close friends (both male and female), some former/current flings, and someone to fall in love with.

keeping up with the nashians (1/5)

so i’ve been far from quiet re: the nashes, and i’ve finally decided to put up my request because it is time. also because i’m finally not lazy/consumed by tv shows. as i’ve mentioned, the patriarch (richard) of the nash family is a former president. his presidency lasted two terms from 1998-2006 and he was a pretty staunch democrat, despite his fairly conservative upbringing. besides the eight years that the family spent living in D.C., the nashes have through all of the family history lived in berkeley, sc. richard’s great, great, greaaat grandfather was one of the founding fathers of the town and so it is safe to presume that even before his presidency, the family has been fairly well-known within the town. that being said, when richard began campaigning as a democrat, the town was fairly split on their regards for him. no one is particularly surprised by this fact, but many of the town’s citizens do not view him favourably. since his term in the oval office has ended, the spite has somewhat dissipated, but it is not uncommon for richard and his family to come under fire from some of the more conservative folks.

as you might expect, the nash children were kind of thrust into the limelight, regardless of whether or not they wanted to be there. having a president for a father kind of comes with that price. some of them have taken advantage of this fortune, but most of them have spent a good portion of their time simply trying not to cause a stir and bring any bad press to the name. even though their father was not a republican politican, he has tended to raise them in a fairly southern conservative method (morals, good behaviour, etc.). as such, i would really prefer that none of the siblings be particularly off the rails. they don’t all need to be do-gooders, but they should be at least somewhat respectable in the public eye. and, to go along with that, i would also pleaaase ask that we limit the ~rebellious~ child to maybe one or two of them just for the sake of being realistic.

i will be using henry cavill for jackson, so ideally the other siblings’ looks should be somewhat similar. if you need help re: faces, please let me know and i can help out! ages are negotiable, but i would like for them to be kind of in this range. also, i know i have m/f for all of the kids, but i would rather that we have at least somewhat of an even distribution of genders? (* non-binary and trans characters are also totally acceptable!

also, because they’re a pretty big ol’ southern family with many generations having been from berkeley, i’m also saying that cousins are absolutely welcomed/encouraged. <3
