The vegetarianism is a little wishy washy especially when they're in the past, but as Orla has noted in her read through it does get brought up from time to time. And Querl and Lyle in particular show a preference for vegan food in the RPG manual, which as we all know is the true fount of all canon knowledge. That's where the algea bar thing is from and I think Lyle basically just describes the world's blandest salad when asked about his favourite food. It sounds kinda fake, like he had to make up something on the spot.

Also yes snails truther. Lab made snails, maybe?

Theres one thing for certain about them and its that one hates sweets and the other loves them. Doesn't matter which is which, but there is no middle ground.

Lyle's the kind of guy to constantly lie about himself, it would not surprise me if he said the blandest most random thing he could think of off the top of his head just just to fuck with whoever asked lmao. Changes his answer every time just like with his backstory, but the losh aren't in on this one so they are constantly at odds over what his favorite food is. They ask him to settle the score one day and he just changes his answer again to each person that asks so now they're even more confused.

And, yes, lab grown snails. Maybe he even grows them himself, and everyone thinks he's weird for it.

Titans/Legion of Super-Heroes Universe Ablaze #1

I love how Querl is giving them both this disapproving judgemental glare at this, because he was the one who actually saw the potential in Bart, and he was the only one who voted to allow him Legionnaire membership. They shared a mental link for close to a full year while stranded in the 20th century which Querl opened up to him willingly. So Querl and Bart had a good length of time to bond with each other and had the ability for direct mental contact - at this point in time out of all the Legionnaires Querl actually understands Bart the most, even over Jenni.

They both are also frequently just not understood by their peers (autism coding) which at this point in Querl's "upgrade" is something that is not lost on him as they are kindred beings.

Honestly the panel was likely accidental, but even if it was by total accident it still stands, and it also still stands that it's a pretty DICK move to bring up Bart just to knock him down and Querl's disapproving glare is warranted.

LOSH was great at showing how people with low empathy and were not always the nicest in manners (Querl) were still good people with high compassion but it also did a phenomenal job at showing how a power-driven or "power hungry" character like Zoe Saugin could also have a 'negative' trait associated with many villains and still be firmly a good person who had personal, unique goals which also were bolstered by a deep desire to earnestly help people with her power.

What was genuinely interesting about this closing comic for this Legion team was Kon's own character growth from his time spent with The Legion and his mixed feelings on seeing two different lives before him.

We don't get to see a whole lot of Kon's positive adventures with the Legion, he was mostly there for comic relief and was regarded as a liability for most (Rokk in particular) however eventually he is embraced as a fully fledged Legionnaire. It is also important to note that Kon has been with The Legion for months at this point so he has had a long time to think about his past, who he is, and what he wants out of his future. While he was with the Legionnaires, he had an opportunity to 'start again' with a new team, new world, and an entirely new structure.

Seeing him have doubts as to what Conner really means to him, and what Teen Titans means, is one of the biggest moments for him as a character. Kon as a character has always had an internal struggle with his identity and perception being so intrinsically tied to his super hero identity he was already struggling with the Conner factor due to the extremes in lives.

As Superboy "Kon" in the 31st century he did not have to hide behind an identity, he could just be again like his old days but this time without the directionless chaos (and grooming). He was in a safe environment with multiple people there to help guide him, he had structure and adequate challenges to make him understand himself.

And then his old life comes up at the speed of a time-barrier breaking and now he's... once again questioning who he is and where his life needs to be.

This boy's life changes so frequently in his run, and so drastically, it is little wonder why he struggles so often with settling on what home really is.

Because home just keeps changing.

All the time.

People change too on him all the time.

Kon is neither, he's a Titan, he's a Legionnaire, he's all of them at once and in the face of desperation he does not believe in sacrifice.

This could have been an amazing segue into Kon's further self discovery of who he is without being tied to an identity OR a team, because this was just starting to seriously approach those topics but... Geoff decided to steer away from it entirely in favor of Kon's Lex vs Clark genetic angst further tethering him to... someone else that's not even him.

We could have had it all folks.
