"Hasn't anyone told you it's rude to stare?" It came out kind of abruptly, but he couldn't really stop himself from calling it like he saw it. Daisuke wasn't dumb...well, he was, but he knew what it was. It was probably the fact he had what was essentially the equivalent of blue toddler crawling and wiggling across his shoulder. Until it lost it's balance and slipped into it's partner's arms instead.

"Never seen a cat before, dude?"

On an ordinary day in an ordinary park, Dog chases Cat. Except the canines have heads like LED screens and—

—the cat they're after has two ears too many and fetching golden hoops around his extras.

Dodging yet another mob of Netpups, Kyubey scampers up a tree, leaps into the air, and leaps towards a mop of reddish brown hair attached to a passerby's head.

Plop!

Bull's eye. The Netpups screech to a halt as they start fussing and whining around the boy's ankles instead.

       THIS WORLD WAS DARK IN a way neytiri had never experienced. when the sun had dipped below the horizon and the shadows had deepened, she had expected the forest to come to life. plants glowing in their brilliance as they did in her forest, bioluminescence lighting up the landscape in beautiful brushstrokes of blues and greens. but as darkness had fallen, it had just been that—darkness. neytiri had sat alone in a grassy clearing and watched as the trees around her succumbed to the night without struggle, a sight that filled her with a strange grief. it was more proof that this was not pandora, not eywa'eveng. not her home.

    later, if asked, she would blame the unnatural darkness for why the boy was able to approach her without challenge. but she knew that was not the case. it was the deep sadness blanketing her shoulders that made her simply watch with golden eyes as he approached, ear flicking at the sound of his footsteps.

    and still she simply watched, waiting to see what he would do.

🌙 - "Do you know how to drive one of these?" She'd caught the boy watching her play with a remote control car. It had kind of fallen into her possession after helping someone else, and since Hakuno didn't really have anything else to do she'd decided to try driving it in the nearest park. He seemed to be curious if anything, so she held the controller out to him.

"You can have it if you'd like. I'll need to go back to my place and get the charger for when it runs out of battery though." A toy was better off with someone who'd make good use of it.

"A monster hunter, huh. At your age? They must be all over the place if that's the case."

Yet the thought seemed to concern Boxer somewhat, unable to help the way his brows furrowed. It wasn't like the kid was safe in Spirale, either-- especially with all the crazy things that happened more often than he would of like. Briefly, the man seemed to get lost in thought for a moment; and as he did.. things started to appear behind him.

"Our world used to be a lot safer than it is now. We've got robots running rampant all over the place-- though I guess the worst thing we faced was what I call The Spine. Nasty thing. Long like a worm, but huge. Breaks the ground whenever it hits it. 'm glad we put that thing to rest the last time we were h--"

.. weird. Why did it feel like something was watching him the more he talked about it? Slowly, Boxer started to turn his head, and to his surprise.. there it was! Watching the two of them, as if getting ready to strike at any minute. And since he wasn't in the Transistor anymore.. well..

"Oh, crap."

He picked Oliver up under his arm and started booking it.

"Runrunrunrunrunrun!"
