A Cake, Just For You

Happy Birthday @watersofcamelot! Hope you're having a good one! As a surprise I have decided to provide you content to feast on today. Enjoy your special oneshot! It's right below the cut!

She was standing right in front of you, the girl with the raven black, long hair. In one of her hands was a plate with a piece of cake, on the other was a fork. She had already cut a bite–sized piece of the cake and had held it almost against your mouth. It was within reach. If you would open your mouth and would shove yourself a little forward you could snatch it. And judging from her pleading, violet gaze she was only waiting for you to take the bait. And while most would say that she looked as deadpan as she always did, you knew her long enough to know that she was surprisingly eager. After all, you two had been staying with another for six years now. It didn’t make her any less unpredictable, you had just adjusted to her enough to know the difference in her expressions by now. If she went a little softer than usual, then she was usually begging for something. It didn’t make her gaze any less enticing however, did it?

It had caught you off guard already when Evelin had entered the room with a tray. She had opened the door of your room right away, not even having knocked. That only made you turn to her in surprise once she said: “Happy Birthday”. She had not even hesitated saying it and her voice would have sounded cold to just about anyone. But you knew that she meant it, this was just one of her usual antics.

On the tray was a cake, seeming to have been freshly baked. It was one of your favorites on top of that. It made you a little wide eyed that she had remembered this detail. Then again, perhaps she had started remembering every single detail of yours by now. Not just that but there also had been a plate, knife and fork at the ready. She had caught you off guard in the middle of the night yet she came prepared at the very least.

So once she had urged you to sit down and join her… That was when it had started. She had cut you a piece yet instead of handing it to you she was trying to feed it to you, no matter what. You insisted on there being no need. You can eat yourself! You’re no longer a kid! You’re a fully grown adult in the early 20s! Yet she just wouldn’t budge. “Let me pamper you on this special day…” She had said, showcasing how stubborn she had been. And today of all days too…

How did you react at the time? Most likely all sorts of emotions and thoughts rushed through your body at once. You were never sure what to think in her presence. Six years should have made you more than familiar with Evelin as a whole and it did… There were just a few things you never managed to get used to. Having her face so close to yours and her gaze staring right at your own was one of them. She could captivate you without even trying after all, as much as you wished to not admit to it. Especially not into her face. If you did you already knew what would happen — Have her lips escape a small smile and a soft chuckle. And it would echo in your head for a good few days and make you want to squeal into a pillow whenever. So you had to keep to yourself for your own safety. Or else she would invade your headspace for the time being.

Actually, Evelin managed to do so either way. After all, she is the woman who has managed to captivate you. Even if it had hit you like a sack of bricks one day. She had captured your heart, one way or another. And she knew that better than anyone. Hence why she had gotten so close and was waiting for you to take the bite sized piece of cake on the fork. 

You had turned away for a short moment by then, trying to hide the redness on your face. And yet it only made her get closer to you. You could tell. And you had to lean yourself backwards on your chair either way. You dared to not look into her face and take in the sight of her close by… The type of sight where you couldn’t see anything else but her to begin with. 

And yet, she was tempting you with her calm yet soothing voice. “Come on… Open wide.” She would add that, making you flinch in your seat. She knew it! She knew what effect she had on you! How she could make you react in certain ways! “Or I will have to force you.”

You scoffed for a moment, refusing. You did not budge for even a moment, not turning back in any way. You wanted to play the game of stubbornness, make her give up. But deep down you just know that this is a losing game. She would get her way. You were just trying to pat it out, weren’t you? Stretch it out longer than needed. You both knew that. In truth she probably wasn’t even trying. It just came natural to her. And you hated to admit that fact, as true as it was. 

But how had she convinced you to turn back around? Easy. All it took  was a quick blow against the skin of your neck. It made you jump in your seat, open your mouth while turning around while your head had been burning. And she took the chance right away, placing the small piece into your mouth and making you chew on it. And it was her victory once more. All because she knew of your weak spots better than anyone else did. 

“Good boy~” She even said, only making you gaze sideways for a moment while chewing, embarrassed. What a woman… Take that as you will. 

“So, how is it?” She then asked, making you think for a moment. Yet your taste buds weren’t complaining as you kept on savoring the taste. It was… Good. Yeah, there was no other way to describe it. It was good, so you nodded in approval. 

“Really? Then eat up, alright?” 

You were willing to eat it, yeah. And take your time with it too over the next few days… However, as of now, you were stuck with her feeding you the first piece of the cake. And you had to let her do it too!

Then again, maybe deep down… This wasn’t so bad. A good start into the birthday perhaps.

Thank you for the ideas! I've imagined up a clumsy waitress that works at the café Mordecai frequents (since he can't very well go to The Little Daisy). She is always in high spirits, though secretly very self conscious about how clumsy she is, and probably only got the job due to either her aunt or grandma or someone owning it.

I think the first time they met might have been after the events of the pilot. Maybe the café or diner just stays open particularly late and so, the first she sees of Mordecai, he is a wreck. Hehe.

Serafine and Nico would probably be in tow, so poor Samantha! (Idk if I am going to go with that name but, it seems apt.) Sammy is a cute nickname too. 😊 Also tempted to go with Dorothy because Mordecai said that name in a recent stream.

Yeah, I'll go with that, "Oh hello Dorothy" seems very in character for them.
