Holiday minific idea: Gai convinces the Gokaigers to go figure skating (should include Doc having trouble staying balanced and Marvelous being tsun with Ahim)

*Mobirates voice* Merryyyyyyyyy Christmas!!!

"Waaah! Gai, help me!!!" Don exclaimed as he started to go off balance, his arms flailing as he tried to get his bearings.

"Hang on, Hakase, I'm coming!" Gai said, managing to duck away from Don's flapping arms and taking hold of them. "Just calm down and hang onto me, okay? I'll teach you to stay in balance!" he said, pulling Don along as he skated backwards.

"Wah, give me a little warning next time!" Don yelped, holding onto Gai's hands for dear life. He nearly screamed when Gai lead them through a curve on the ice. "Don't let me go! I won't forgive you, Gai, you hear me!"

"Don't worry Hakase! I won't let you go!"

Joe and Luka watched the pair with amusement, trying to muffle their chuckling as they skated leisurely. "They're starting to sound like one of those cheesy shoujo manga couples..." Joe said, shaking his head.

"Well, at least they're having progress. Unlike those two." Luka said, pointing at the other pair on the ice with them.

Marvelous and Ahim were together, the pirate captain holding the princess' hand as they very slowly skated across the pond. Ahim was teeteering on her skates, scared to take a wider stride for fear of falling. Marvelous, on the other hand was making a great show of trying to look annoyed about their slow progress, grumbling and sighing and putting his other hand on his hip- but the small smile on his face as he watched Ahim said otherwise.

Not that Ahim noticed of course. She was too busy trying not to fall and babbling nervously to do so.

"Geez..." Joe sighed. "Marvelous, when are you gonna make your move already?"

"His tsundere ass probably won't make a move until some guy comes to steal his princess away," Luka chortled. "If holiday magic isn't gonna kick his ass into high gear, then I don't know what will."

"You know, you look even stupider now than you did before," heckled a certain magenta pink-loving troublemaker as he rolled on the floor, laughing his ass off.

The captain of the Gokaigers hissed at him, but the intended effect was lost in his current form. He ended up sounding- and looking- like a particularly famous disgruntled feline from the Internet, even though his coloring was all wrong.

Yes, Marvelous was once again a cat. A rather grumpy one at that, too.

Worse of all, his bad eye had stayed with him as he transformed, so he still had to wear an eyepatch. However, since his was designed for a much larger human head, he had to improvise with what they had.

And what they had was one of Ahim's wide, pink silk ribbons, which they wound around his kitten head and tied off at the back. A particularly bright shade of pink that delighted the Kamen Rider.

Ahim had apologized profusely, and even offered to look for something black of hers to cut up for him to use, but he had gently nipped her before she could take a pair of scissors to a pretty black dress she had. Even this small act of affection had greatly amused Tsukasa.

Marvelous seethed, cursing creatively in a manner that would make Cat Whisperers blush and sputter half-boiledly. He swore, Kadoya Tsukasa will pay for his impudence one of these days...!

Right after Ahim finishes scritching that nice spot near his ear.

“Ahim-san? Did you hear what I said?”

The princess looked up, startled, as Gai approached her with a cup of tea. “Oh, Gai-san... were you saying something?”

“I just if you wanted some tea...” Gai said, putting down the cup on the coffee table in front of her. He joined her on the couch and asked, “Is there something the matter? You seem deep in thought...”

“Ah... well, you can say that.” Ahim said. “I’m not sure how to put it...” She looked at the couch they were sitting on. “I was certain I fell asleep here last night... I was doing some needlework, and the light here is better, so I was doing it until I got sleepy... I don’t remember going back to my room, but that was where I woke up today.”  She frowned. “And when I came out here... the needlework I was doing was still on the couch.”

“I- I see...” Gai said in a strangled voice. “I-Is it possible that you just misremembered not going to bed? That sometimes happens, haha...”

Ahim frowned, entirely unconvinced by Gai’s question. “Do you know something about it that I don’t, Gai-san?”

Gai bit his lip, his shoulders tensing up, as if trying to keep himself from blurting something out. Ahim watched him struggle with himself, confused, until he let out a frustrated scream. “Ah! I’m so sorry, Ahim-san... But yes! I do know something about it, after all!” he practically yelled. 

“Oh... okay. What is it?”

“It was Marvelous-san!” Gai said. “Marvelous-san was the one who carried you to bed!”

“What?” Ahim felt her cheeks starting to burn. “Marvelous-san... carried me...?”

“But that’s not all! Before he brought you to bed, he... he...” Gai stuttered, unable to get the words out. 

“What? What did Marvelous-san do?” Ahim asked urgently.

“He kissed you!” Gai blurted out. “Not on the lips, but still! I saw it myself!” 

“E-E-EHHHHHH?!” Ahim cried. “Marvelous-san... did that...?”

“What did I do?”

Both Ahim and Gai squeaked as the captain of their ship suddenly appeared from out of nowhere. Gai turned pale and practically fled the room, leaving Ahim alone with Marvelous, her cheeks stained red from the knowledge she just received. 

“What’s with that guy?” Marvelous asked, frowning after the cabin boy. “Was he bothering you, or something?”

“N-No...” Ahim shook her head. “We were just talking about something...”

He raised a brow at her, but didn’t question her any further. He took Gai’s place at the couch with her. “Is that tea yours?”

“Oh, Gai brought it for me, but I’m not very thirsty... you may have it, Marvelous-san...”

Marvelous nodded and took the cup, taking a big gulp of the tea. Ahim glanced at her leader from her peripheral vision as she internally debated whether to bring up what had happened the previous night, though she quickly realized that doing so would also get Gai into trouble. 

How was she supposed to thank him, then...? There was one way that came to mind... but it was.... quite embarrassing for her. But... she did want to see how Marvelous would react to such a thing... So, she squared her shoulders, and gathered every bit of pirate courage she had, and leaned forward...

Marvelous was completely unaware of Ahim’s troubles, single-mindedly focused on his tea. So when he felt the brush of lips against his cheek, he was entirely unprepared for it and slopped the tea all over himself. 

“A-Ahim?!” he exclaimed, too surprised to even feel the still-warm liquid all over his shirt.  “Did you just... Wait, where are you...?” he yelled after her, as she disappeared up to the crow’s nest. 

“What was that all about...?” the pirate asked in confusion, holding the cheek that his pretty pink teammate had just kissed.

Minific of Marvelous and Ahim because I’m still on a Gokaiger high

I think I made Ahim saucy in this one (is that even a thing anymore? lol)

“Marvelous-san, would you like some tea and scones?” asked Ahim, already prepared with a teacup and a plate of the pastry with some clotted cream and berries on the side.

Marvelous looked up from the star maps he was reading, charting out their course for the next few days. “Thank you, Ahim. You can set it down here.” He cleared a space on the table, and Ahim placed the tea and cakes on it. 

He lifted the cup to take a sip. As expected, it was already sweetened to his taste, and cool enough to drink without being tepid. He took a bite of the scones, and the fruit and cream was a nice addition to an otherwise plain, but fluffy treat.

“You know, I could never figure out how you know exactly how we all like our tea,” said Marvelous absently as he munched on his snack. “Even Gai, when he just joined up... Is it just a princess thing, or...?”

“Well...” Ahim replied with a soft laugh. “I suppose you could put it that way.” 

“Wait, what?” Marvelous asked, not expecting that reply. “It actually is a princess thing?”

“I was taught the art of tea as part of my etiquette lessons,” Ahim replied. “Not just how to make different kinds of tea, or what foods to go with them. But how to read people to know how they would like to take their tea. Or anything else they want, for that matter.” She explained. “After all, as royalty, it was essential for us to ensure our guests are as comfortable as possible. Especially when the smallest slights- like a badly made cup of tea- could start a war.”

Marvelous gaped at her. “...You’re serious,” he said in shock. Ahim nodded.“How do you exactly do this... reading thing? Would anyone else... say me... be able to learn it?”

Ahim tittered. “I’m afraid it’s a trade secret, Marvelous-san,” she giggled. “One must be royalty to learn it.”

“And being your captain isn’t reason enough?” Marvelous asked, smirking at her. 

Ahim returned it with a sly smile of her own. “Of course it isn’t. But maybe if you gave me another reason, I might consider teaching you, Marvelous-san.”

Marvelous reacting to: Who to date between ahim and Luka.

*looking up from stuffing his face with food* “Dating? Is that food-related?”

Seriously though, canon!Marv probably hasn’t thought about dating either of them in any way, even though he has had ship tease moments with both. 

As for my hc specifically... I have the otp: the red pirate and the pink princess tag, so you can probably guess who’d he’d choose to date... even though you’d have to wrangle the answer out of him by force.

Minific of Marvelous being sweet with Ahim without her noticing but one of the other Gokaigers did notice

Marv should really be more aware of his surroundings because when he exposes himself... he REALLY exposes himself. Lol

It was the middle of the night on the Gokai Galleon- or it would be night, if the Galleon wasn’t travelling through space right now. Doc had insisted that even if they didn’t have any point of reference for time that they still kept to a consistent schedule, including sleeping at a certain time, because it was better for their health-

Anyway. It was the middle of the night, and he was supposed to be asleep... but Gai had been working on the newest page of his hero book, and he’d gotten thirsty, so he made his way to the galley to get some water. His room- the deck boy’s room, Marvelous had told him- was fortunately adjacent to the kitchen, so he didn’t have to be all sneaky about going there. 

He drank his fill, then carefully washed and dried his glass, because Gai knew Doc would somehow find out that he’d been up when he wasn’t supposed to otherwise. And Doc always was so scary when it came to such things. He put it back exactly where he had gotten it, and then made the careful trip back to his room.

However, as he exited the kitchen, he noticed two figures at the couch in the main room- one lying on it, one crouched down beside it. Gai watched, frozen in his tracks, as his captain gently caressed the pink princess’ cheek, gazing at her tenderly, before kissing her temple gently. Gai could only stare speechlessly as Marvelous-san picked up Ahim, bridal style, before heading in the direction of her quarters, not even noticing Gai in the corner witnessing everything he just did. 

Did that... Did Marvelous really just...? Kiss Ahim... while she was sleeping?! And carried her back to her room too!

Gai felt his grin widen, and covered his mouth to muffle his squeal. He knew it, he knew it all along! He knew Marvelous-san was in love with Ahim! Ahim was the one Marvelous-san couldn’t live without! He was right, he was right! 

It was too bad that he couldn’t show everyone this, but still!

A MOTW turn Marvelous into a small kid and he’s mad because nobody can take him seriously but Ahim thinks he’s super cute

Bahahaha Marvelous would do that wouldn’t he? He’d insist on being on the front lines fighting even though he can barely even lift the Gokai Saber anymore. And even when everyone tells him to stay the fuck away he transforms into a pint-sized Gokai Red which sends everyone into a fit of the giggles, even Gai who’s normally terrified of him. 

Once Ahim starts doting on him though? Marv is totally behaved. He gets all flustered and shy and he basically acts like a kid with a crush (which, well, he is). Everyone is astonished that all it takes is Ahim patting his head for him to stop being so rambunctious lol

I’m torn between having Ahim be oblivious as to why Kid!Marv is behaving like that around her, and having her know exactly what Mar feels and using that to control him somewhat. I feel like both scenarios are equally hilarious.

Marvelous grumbled as he carried Ahim on his back, glaring at his teammates who were smiling knowingly. “What’cha looking at me like that for?” he barked at them, which only made them smile all the more.

“Nothing,” Luka said in a sing-song voice. 

“No reason,” Don said, despite the weirdly smug look on his face.

“I’m not looking at you,” Joe said with a bland tone that didn’t match his smirk.

Gai, on the other hand, snickered and just shook his head.

He gave them an unimpressed look that no longer fazed any of them, too used to him to be really scared of him at all. He frowned, not liking that they didn’t find him particularly threatening, in spite of the many years they spent together.

Then, he turned his gaze to the woman who was softly snoring on his shoulder. Ahim really did do everything with a princess-like flair, he thought absently. In her sleep, she seemed more relaxed, yet she still had an air of grace about her. It was like she was one of those princesses from the movies that Gai kept making them watch- the ones with all the weird talking animals and the princes that show up out of nowhere and such.

Even her snoring was cute...

He mentally slapped himself for the thought. Nope, nuh-uh, he wasn’t even gonna begin to touch that with a ten-foot pole. She was way out of his league anyway...

Minific involving Marvelous admitting he likes Ahim?

“The one Marvelous-san will miss the most is...!”

The captain of the Gokaigers rolled over in his bunk, irritated and confused all at once. Why am I letting that idiot’s words bother me so much...?

It’s not even true, right...?

Marvelous would never admit it to anyone else, when he saw Ahim bow to his chair like that- a goodbye and thank you- he did feel... a little distressed.

Some part of him knew that the day may come that Ahim would leave the crew. He even thought that of all of them, it was likely that she’d be the first to go.

Ahim already succeeded in ridding the filth that destroyed her planet and family.

And, unlike the other Gokaigers who had no obligations to anyone and may be content to travel the universe with him, Ahim still had a duty towards her people who are in diaspora. She should lead them out of exile and toward rebuilding their home, or creating a new one elsewhere. The people of Famille still needed their princess.

The only thing standing in her way was the rest of the Zangyack, and they were coming close to beating the rest of them too.

She would have no reason to stay on the Galleon once the Zangyack Empire was defeated. Sooner or later, Ahim will...

Judging from what the others were saying before, they saw her as the glue that kept the crew together all this time. Marvelous didn’t fancy the thought of what would happen if Ahim wasn’t there to break up their squabbling and bickering.

And, of course, Marvelous had his own reasons for wanting Ahim to stay. He wouldn’t know what to do if he woke up one day and she wasn’t there, with her sweet smile and gentle gestures and her soothing cups of tea, and with her cunning wit and courageous recklessness and surprising toughness underneath all those ruffles and pink.

Ahim was... Ahim. Marvelous was always going to need her.

Gai’s words echoed in Marvelous’ ears again. “The one Marvelous-san will miss the most is...!”

Oh. Oh.
