you’re sitting at home watching the sens game on your tv like you always do when you arent able to make it to the arena. about halfway through the second period tim scores, you jump up in happiness. you had been dating tim for almost six months now, and since you first saw him play you fell in love with it. how he played the game, the game itself, everything about it. moments later, after you quiet back down, you hear it, the sound of the crowd booing tim. you are immediately confused, ‘why are they booing him? there’s not a reason to boo him?’ you think. you decide to send a simple text saying, ‘hey my prince, come over the game? wanna congratulate you on your goal in person:)’

a couple hours later, with a sens win, you hear a knock on your apartment door. you look through the peephole and see it’s tim. you immediately unlock the door to let him in.

as soon as the door is closed you pull him into a hug and held him close to your chest. he pushes his face into your neck and tries not to let the tears drop down his face, but you feel a few hit your skin. you pull his face in front of yours and look into his beautiful eyes, ‘ baby why are you crying?’ he hesitates for a moment, ‘ the fans, they hate me, thats why they all booed when i scored tonight.’ your heart drops, you know that had to have hurt him a lot.

‘no baby, they love you, don’t think like that, please.’ you murmur in his ear. ‘why’d they boo then?’ he asks, eyes full of tears. ‘i don’t know bub, but you did fucking fantastic tonight okay? don’t think about what those other people think. their opinions dont matter, only yours does.’ he looks at you, eyes full of tears still, but through those tears you can see some happiness.

you bring tim in for a hug, doing anything you can to make him feel better. you grab the tv remote and put on yours and tims favorite show, f/s, you got him into watching it and now he loves it. almost half an hour later, you hear soft snores coming from tim, who’s resting his head on your chest still. you reach over and turn of the television and light, while being careful not to wake tim up.

when youre about to fall asleep, you lean down and press a kiss to his forehead and mumble a quick ‘i love you’ but what you don’t know is, tim had slightly woken up and heard you say those three words for the first time. he finds it extremely hard to contain his smile, ‘i love you too beautiful,’ he whispers to your sleeping form.
