He misses the man a lot and as much as Owen adores his big brothers, he wishes that he could turn to his father for things.

Owen doesn’t have any memories of his mother, as he was only one when she passed away. He wishes that he could have had any memories of her and there are a lot of moments where Owen wishes that he had her to turn to. He really misses her.

Born on December 30, 1996, Finn is six and a half years older than Owen. They have a close relationship and Owen is probably the closest to Finn. They don’t have that many arguments because of their age gap, except when Owen feels like Finn is being too protective over him. Owen loves his big brother a lot, though.

Pre-Hogwarts Childhood: 

Born on June 3, 2003, Owen David MacKade was the fourth and youngest child pof David and Clare MacKade. He joined older brothers, Finn (6), Nate (6), and Paddy (3). Owen’s childhood was disrupted by his mother’s cancer diagnosis and her subsequent death in late 2004, when he was one. Therefore, he doesn’t have very many memories of his mother. The next disruption came when Owen was three and his father died suddenly. Thankfully, Owen’s grandmother took him and his brothers in and gave them the very best childhood that she could. The next shock, which wasn’t nearly as traumatic or difficult, was when Finn and Nate received Hogwarts letters, with Paddy receiving one a few years later. Owen was very excited when his own letter came in 2014. 

Hogwarts Years:

Upon starting Hogwarts, Owen was sorted into Ravenclaw with the hat barely touching his head. He was very happy to be sorted into Ravenclaw, as he had idolized the house due to the stories that his big brother, Finn, told. He also loved being in the same house as his big brother, who helped a lot whenever Owen was feeling homesick that first year. In addition, Owen was made a prefect in his fifth year and head boy in his seventh year.

Adulthood:

After graduating from Hogwarts, Owen became a magiovet, fulfilling his fascination with magical creatures and his desire to help others. He also found himself being made the godfather of his niece, Zoey, and his niece, Flora. Like his brother Paddy, Owen took being a godfather very seriously and loved all of his various nieces and nephews.

Old Age & Death: 

Owen passed away in his sleep at the age of 107.

Owen’s middle name is in honor of his father.

Owen is a good listener and has a firm belief in the good of humanity, even when his beliefs aren’t always reinforced.

Owen is generally quite optimistic and is the most optimistic of the four MacKade brothers.

Owen really enjoys building with Legos, especially the more complex sets and he has a whole display of the smaller (and cheaper) architecture sets.

Owen’s great-great-great paternal grandparents were both squibs from wealthy and well-known families. They changed their surname to MacKade when they moved into the muggle world.

which brother is the most/least competitive?

Finn happens to be the least competitive, but that’s solely because he is easily distracted by anything that he thinks would make an interesting photograph.

Paddy happens to be the most competitive brother. Although, he is not competitive when it comes to quidditch as he doesn’t care much for the sport.

which brother gives the advice?

Nate. If you need advice, Nate is going to have something… even if it’s not exactly specific.

which brother do the others go to in a pinch?

It depends on the brother. Nate and Finn would go to one another, knowing that they can always count on one another. Paddy would go to Nate, as he’s closer to Nate, while Owen would go to Finn because he’s closer to Finn.

which brother is most trustworthy with a secret?

Finn. He’s the most logical of the four brothers and he’s just good at keeping things to himself.

Born on April 16, 2000, Padraig Darragh “Paddy” MacKade was the third child of David and Clare MacKade. He joined his older brothers, Finn and Nate, who were three at the time. Three years later, on June 3, 2003, Paddy gained a third brother, Owen David. For four years, Paddy had a good childhood. That all changed when his mother was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. Everything slowly began to change, especially after the tumor became terminal. His mother passed away in late 2004, peacefully in her sleep. His mother’s death rattled the entire family and things changed even more. The biggest change, though, came when Paddy’s father passed away and he and his brothers moved in with their grandmother. Then, came Finn’s and Nate’s Hogwarts letters, shocking everyone. It did explain some of the strangeness that seemed to follow the four MacKade boys. Paddy was quite excited when he received his own Hogwarts letter in 2011. 

Hogwarts Years:

Upon starting Hogwarts, Paddy was sorted into Hufflepuff after sitting under the hat for four and a half minutes, while it debated if Paddy was better suited for Hufflepuff or Gryffindor. Paddy was happy to be sorted into Hufflepuff, joining the house where his big brother was. Having Nate there to lean on helped to lessen some of Paddy’s homesickness. Paddy had a good time at Hogwarts, where he got into a surprising amount of trouble and somehow found himself named prefect.

Adulthood:

After graduating from Hogwarts, Paddy became a cursebreaker. It worked with his desire for adventure and thrills, while also helping him get out of scrapes as trouble continued to follow him. He found himself godfather to his eldest nephew, Wyatt, and his youngest nephew, Ian, something that Paddy took very seriously. He loved all of his nieces and nephews. 

Old Age & Death: 

Paddy died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 106.

Trivia:

Paddy has a big appetite and is often snacking on something. He does not like to share food, though.

He is the most troublesome MacKade brother, but he’s mostly a trouble magnet and often finds himself getting into scrapes. 

Paddy’s favorite sport is hurling, but football/soccer is his second favorite. He does enjoy watching quidditch, but is not a fan of playing the sport. 

He loves the fact that he is the tallest of the four MacKade brothers and loves to hold it over his brothers.

The MACKADE boys couldn’t quite remember how the game had started, but without fail, every autumn they played the game. The crabapples came into season and the brothers divided into teams. Nate and Paddy, Finn and Owen, just as tradition dictated. Even without a referee, they played, kicking the small, hard apple between each other. They often lost count of the score.

Setting: Hogwarts, November 2014

Standing in front of the mirror, Nate MacKade fussed with his tie, smoothing it out with his hand. He glanced back, to where his three brothers were sprawled across his bed. At one time, he would have used his twin as a mirror. He and Finn had done that a lot when they were younger. Before their dad had died. Before Paddy and Owen were their responsibilities. A lot had changed since then.

“How do I look?” Nate asked, turning to face his brothers.

“You look great!” Owen exclaimed, rolling over onto his back and sending Nate a wide grin. God, he couldn’t believe how old Owen was starting to look.

“Thanks, O.” Nate reached over to ruffle Owen’s wavy curls. “What about you two?”

“You look fine, Nate,” Paddy remarked, rolling his eyes slightly.

“Thanks, Pads. Finn?”

Finn rolled over to rest his chin on his fists. “You look fine. And anyways, Nova won’t care if you don’t look perfect. I know you’ve got some big plan, but it won’t matter if it doesn’t go exactly to plan,” he said.

“I know that, Finn. It’ll just be better if everything does go according to plan.”

“Well, then, good luck.”

“Yeah! Good luck, Nate! You’ll do great!” Owen exclaimed.

“I’m not going to take an exam, Owen. I’m going on a date.”

Letting out a slow breath, and counting backwards from fifty to calm his nerves, Nate once again smoothed out his tie. He looked down at the pavers of the entrance hall and began to walk a straight line along the seams of the pavers. After tracing over the line a few times, Nate looked over to where Slytherins emerged. A slow smile blossomed on his face as Nova Hartley emerged from the doorway.

“Nova! You look amazing,” Nate said, rushing over to Nova.

Nova blushed, ducking her head. “Thank you. You look good yourself,” she replied.

“Are you ready to go?”

He offered her his arm. She smiled and took his arm. They began walking, chatting aimlessly about things of no real importance. It felt nice to talk about things that didn’t matter, things that weren’t related to school or his brothers or quidditch or whatever the hell was going to happen after they graduated.

“So where exactly are we going, Nate?” Nova asked, after they’d been walking for nearly ten minutes.

“There’s this spot on the far side of the lake. It’s so damned beautiful. You have no idea how many sunset or sunrise photos that Finn has taken there,” Nate replied.

“You’re such a romantic.” She shook her head, but a wide grin was fixed to her face.

“Perhaps.”

They fell back into their comfortable silence as they continued walking. Nate inhaled a deep, subtle breath and let his hand slide down to meet Nova’s. Their hands met sooner than he had expected and they met one another’s eyes. Their gazes met for half a second before they tore the gaze away, turning back to the scenery in front of them.

“Well, here we are,” Nate announced, turning to show Nova the breathtaking view.

“Wow. It really is beautiful, Nate,” Nova said, her voice soft.

“It really is.”

However, Nate’s eyes weren’t on the view. His brown eyes were locked on Nova’s face, watching as her face lit up, just a little. He’d seen that view so many times in his years at Hogwarts, and it felt nice to see how she reacted to the breathtaking view.

“Finn and I found it towards the June of our first year. It was the anniversary of the day our dad died and everything was too much. We stumbled upon it by accident. But it was so damned breathtaking. It’s always been a sort of quiet space, if we ever needed to think,” Nate said, starting to babble.

“Nate. It’s beautiful. And I’m so touched that you’ve agreed to share it with me,” Nova interjected, cutting off his stream of words.

Nate let out a slow breath as Nova turned to face him. His body moved of its own accord, leaning into her. He hovered, waiting for a few moments to make sure that he hadn’t been misreading her intentions. But then, he closed the distance. His lips pressing gently to hers. She sighed softly against his lips. They broke the soft, slow kiss a few moments later.

“That wasn’t out of line, was it?” Nate asked, his voice quiet.

“No! That was really nice, Nate. It was definitely a memorable kiss,” Nova replied, sending him a reassuring smile. Their hands linked again as they turned to look at the scenery, leaning against one another.

Paddy is not fazed by the fact that Nova is a bit aloof. He’s closest to Nate, and early in his first year, decides that he wants to be friends with everyone that is friends with his big brother. That includes Nova, who is rather confused by the little Hufflepuff first year that keeps coming up to her. She understands it when she sees all four MacKade boys together.

Owen is the MacKade that Nova warms up to the fastest. It’s partially because she’s heard all about Owen from the twins and Paddy, so she feels like she knows him by the time that he starts Hogwarts. It’s also because it’s hard not to like Owen. He’s a sweet, optimistic kid. Nova is shocked that she warmed up to him so quickly, though.

Okay, okay, 🔥 and 👀 for Finn.

🔥 If your OC known for having temper tantrums? If not, what gets them really angry? What makes their blood BOIL? Is there anyway to calm them down or are they unstoppable? What are they like when they’re angry? Do they take it out on their loved ones?

Finn is a very even-keeled person, and he doesn’t let his temper get the best of him very often. Any insult towards his loves ones can make Finn extremely angry. That’s the big thing that pisses him off. He doesn’t care for people insulting his family and if you hit certain points, then his blood will boil. It usually involves slights towards either of his parents.

Finn is not unstoppable. He’s pretty easy to calm down, if you know how. Usually, it’s his brothers who are the only ones to be able to calm him down.

When Finn’s angry, he tends to take his old film camera out and take photos. It’s a reassuring and all-consuming process and the black and white from film also feels reassuring. He rarely takes his anger out on his loved ones. There’s a few occasional, bad fights with his brothers, but those are far and few between.

Owen: “Finn is one of the greatest brothers on the planet. Obviously the other greatest brothers are Luke and Paddy, but Finn’s always been there for me. We’re both Ravenclaws, and he’s always willing to help me out with anything… including letting me climb into bed with him the first night of my first year. He’s a great guardian, and I cannot imagine not having Finn as an older brother.”
