Rob Reacts: Jurors found a teen school shooter’s father and mother guilty of manslaughter..
Yesterday, James Crumbley, the father of the Oxford High School shooting perpetrator Ethan Crumbley, was found guilty of manslaughter yesterday in a Michigan court yesterday, as explained in this CNN article. Crumbley’s wife, Jennifer, was also found guilty of manslaughter in a separate trial earlier. I tried as hard as I could to bury my head in the sand and ignore this story; not because I…

I am gonna repeat what I said to the prime suspect for why my account, @/popcornpie , was banned this morning.
There have been transgender mass shooters...but it's been four in 300. That is only 1.3% of all recorded mass shootings.
The other 98.7%? Take a guess.
Philadelphia shooting, July 3 2023: Cis male.
Uvalde shooting, May 24 2022: Cis male.
Topps shooting, May 14 2022: Cis male.
Parkland shooting, February 14 2018: Cis male.
Oxford shooting, November 21 2021: Cis male.
Old National Bank shooting, April 10 2023: Cis male.
Philadelphia Synagogue Shooting, October 28, 2018: Cis male.
Meanwhile, I have Googled "school shooting trans person" and all of the most recent results have been about the same man. Aiden Hale is the only recent transgender mass shooter out of the eight listed.
The "rise in transgender shooters" is a boogeyman. And the boogeyman is puny.
It's another scare tactic.
They want you to buy into this and they hope you don't look into it yourself.
To that said prime suspect: No, I am not okay with anyone of any race or gender identity shooting children. I never said I was. A trans person who shoots up a school is still a child killing monster. However, I am also not okay with anti-trans rhetoric being spread. You know damn well it's not about protecting kids. If it was, you would be okay with abandoned children finding loving homes no matter who the parents are. You wouldn't have already forgotten Uvalde.
And before I get asks and replies calling me trans slurs, or the N-word, or any of that stuff...I'M CIS AND WHITE. In fact, I am Irish on my mother's side, and that makes me the whitest cracker you can find. I'm so white, you could put a piece of meat on me and call me a ham sandwich.
I do not express remorse to any right wingers I offend with this post. I don't give a shit. I'm only expressing my freedom of speech, aren't I?

James Crumbley, the father of the teenager who killed four students at a Michigan high school in 2021, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in a trial that comes a month after the shooter’s mother was convicted of the same charges. Crumbley was convicted of four counts of involuntary manslaughter, a charge that carries a maximum punishment of up to 15 years in prison, which would run concurrently. Jury deliberations that concluded Thursday came more than two years after his son, Ethan Crumbley, then 15, used a SIG Sauer 9mm to kill four students and wound six students and a teacher at Oxford High School on November 30, 2021. James Crumbley is set to be sentenced on April 9 at 9 a.m., the judge said in court. His wife, Jennifer Crumbley, will be sentenced at that same date and time.

Father Of Ethan Crumbley Found Guilty Of Involuntary Manslaughter In Relation To Oxford High Shooting
youtube
James Crumbley, the father of Oxford High School shooter Ethan Crumbley, was found guilty on Thursday of involuntary manslaughter.
After concluding the testimony and final arguments on Wednesday afternoon, the jury pondered for around 12 hours until announcing the judgment on Thursday at around 7:20 p.m. local time.
Both Crumbley parents will face criminal charges for their teen son’s school shooting, which occurred at Oxford High School on November 30th, 2021. On that day, Ethan Crumbley killed four students and injured seven others.
Four days prior to going on his rampage, Ethan had received a gun from his father as an “early Christmas gift.” However, the legal defense insisted that the firearm was not actually a gift and was only intended to be used at the shooting range with his father.
The victims’ families let out sighs of relief as the jury foreman read the verdicts. As each guilty verdict was read, James Crumbley shook his head angrily and began to tear up. Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald also gave each victim’s parent a hug as they left the courthouse.
Ethan’s father, James, was accused of being egregiously negligent in a number of ways, including ignoring his son’s mental health issues, purchasing a gun for him rather than sending him to counseling, failing to secure the weapon safely, and neglecting to notify school officials about the gun when he and his wife were called by the school in relation to a disturbing drawing that their son had illustrated the morning before the shooting. The words “The thoughts won’t stop, help me” were written next a firearm.
The defense asserted that the father never observed any indications that his son was mentally ill or would ever harm anyone, nor was he aware of the teen’s plans to shoot up the school.
Additionally, the relatives of the victims have long maintained that school administrators should also be held responsible for the tragic deaths of their children and that the Crumbleys are not the only ones to blame
“While we are grateful that James and Jennifer Crumbley were found guilty, we want to be very clear that this is just the beginning of our quest for justice and true accountability,” said the families of the four slain students in a joint statement after the verdict was read. “There is so much more that needs to be done to ensure other families in Michigan and across the country don’t experience the pain that we feel and we will not stop until real change is made.”
Jennifer Crumbley, Ethan’s mother, was found guilty on four charges of involuntary manslaughter last month. She will be sentenced on April 9th and could spend up to 15 years behind bars. Meanwhile, Ethan has entered a plea of guilty to all charges and is currently incarcerated for life without the chance of release.

Jury Finds Michigan School Shooter's Mother Guilty of Manslaughter
“We would talk. We did a lot of things together," she testified. "I trusted him, and I felt I had an open door. He could come to me about anything.” In a journal found by police, Ethan Crumbley wrote that his parents wouldn’t listen to his pleas for help. “I have zero help for my mental problems and it’s causing me to shoot up the ... school,” he

Tbh my lawyer-brain has Thoughts™ about this but on an emotional/moral level I'm so grateful the jury found her guilty. I grew up nearby and this has had such an affect on the community. I'm also hoping this will have some kind of deterrent effect in the future and make parents actually do their job and take responsibility for their kids.
