Lean, Mean, and Green | Carina + Dakota
An interesting fact no one knows about you? Carina's question-a-day journal asked her, and the answer was simple: Ich liebe zu wandern, I love to hike. As she filled it out, Carina realized that she had never told anyone about her interest in hiking. In the end, she decided that she didn't want anyone to know because she preferred to hike alone, simply to gain a full experience from it.
One thing that bothered Carina about hiking was the scenery; not because she didn't enjoy it, but because it was so beautiful. There was no physical way to capture the beauty of any area that she hiked in, and what irked her about that was the fact that she would never see something the same way twice.
Another thing that bothered Carina about hiking was that, around Clearbrook, there was nowhere to hike. Certainly, there were a few places to trek around, but there was no variety. That was what Carina needed: something new, something fresh. In an attempt to fix that, she had wandered into the Plant and Biography department of the school.
"Hallo?" She called out, waiting for a reply. When she got none, she turned a corner that looked promising, hoping to find a hallway of offices. This time, she was not disappointed. "Hallo?" One office had its door open, and she peeked her head in slightly. There was a brunette sitting at a desk, looking at something that Carina could not see. "I was looking for --" Carina's voice is soft because of the quiet nature of the building, but the girl does not turn around, so she knocks at the door and clears her throat in an attempt to gain her attention. "I am looking for a plant for my dorm."

Green || Tesslyn & ______
Tess stared up at the canopy of trees as she walked, trying her hardest to not make any contact with the people passing by her. She'd been looking forward to the dance all week, awaiting the adventure of meeting someone new. But now, on the night of Dionysia, she couldn't help but feel butterflies in her stomach. What if she made a fool of herself while she danced? What if she said something rude that would upset her date? She didn't even have the comfort of her sketchbook with her, the coping mechanism she used for everything! Tesslyn mentally slapped herself, trying to get her thoughts together. "You are going to have fun. You are going to make a new friend. You are going to enjoy yourself." Tesslyn repeated these words over and over in her head, hoping that the repetition of them would make it all the more believable.
The crunch of leaves moved under her formal sandals as she walked, echoing over and over with every step. Tesslyn’s long, dark green dress trailed behind her and she fiddled with it’s thin fabric to calm herself down while walking. Music came into earshot, and Tesslyn looked up to see the lights of the Masquerade ball. She gasped, observing the fairy lighting, tree canopy, the pretty candles placed on each table. It was wonderful, and Tesslyn’s fears seemed to shrink away as she imagined just how fun it would be if she could stop and paint the scene. “Stop it,” Tess thought to herself. “You’re here to dance. Go find your partner.” Tesslyn traveled past the columns decorated with fairy lighting and skimmed over the crowd. She needed to find someone with a green mask. It would have to be identical to hers, one that would be dark green with intricate gold trim and swirls designed around it. She played with a blonde curl from her hair as she looked, and panicking thoughts entered her head again. “What if they didn’t come, what if they’ve already seen me and they think I’m not good enough?” Tess shook her head and forced a smile upon her face, trying to convince herself that it would be fine, until she felt someone lightly tap her shoulder.
