On October 5th 2019, I will be running from Baltimore to Key West to raise awareness about young adult cancer as a part of the Ulman Cancer Foundation's 2019 Point to Point team. As a collected team of survivors, supporters, and community friends, we will stop along the way to visit survivors & fighters, to share stories, and be there for one another. One of the greatest things that I conquered was the depression, and discouragement that is attached to #infertility on Mother’s Day. I conquered the aches in my heart and womb that would come every time #mothersday came around. I conquered this before I even became a mother and it was through a simple understanding God gave me when I was diagnosed with PCOS which is supposed to cause #infertility. The Lord explained to me to have fertility faith and to study infertility. Then I discovered mothering is in the eye of the beholder. I discovered that I had been a mother of many things before I became a mother of children. I have mothered visions and brought them to life, I have mothered joy, peace, love, and was able to multiply it for myself and for others. I am not only a mother of vision and creativity. I am a mother of several spiritual children and two beautiful heart babies that I birthed from my heart and am loved by immensely and I couldn’t imagine my life without my two beautiful babies. I want to encourage my #fertilitysisters I want you to know that today doesn’t have to be a day of feeling like if you haven’t had a child that you aren’t a mother. Today will not be a day filled with depression and anger because of what you don’t have or any decisions you have made or haven’t made concerning your life and children. Today we will celebrate that you have birthed joy, peace, goodness, and love back into your life and that is enough to smile about. This doesn’t have to be a day of depression we honor what God has birthed through you today and what God used to birth you today. Try to celebrate the beauty of birth. So to all the women I get the honor of celebrating with today I send you a big huge Happy Mothers Day. May God continue to birth through you and in you. May the desires of your womb be given once you remove yourself from deadly things. Grief can hit you when you least expect it! I stumble, even fall sometimes, but I never stay down. 💙 As each day passes, and I reflect on where I have been and where I am now, I make a conscious effort to accept grief as an element of my being, but not the foundation of my my life. 💙 Each day is a new day to learn and grow from the pain.
