Infected Monkeys

Last week, while I was taking notes and eating lunch, Lev came and sat with me. He asked me questions about Joel and how we traveled across the country together. I kinda wished he hadn’t asked, since it always brings back painful memories of him.

Lev was especially curious about us meeting infected monkeys back in Colorado, which caught me off guard. I sometimes forget Lev grew up in that strange cult in Seattle. Still, he was right in a way he didn’t even know. Even if he never saw infected animals, I can't remember if those monkeys at the Fireflies' lab were infected or not.

I had to bring this up with Ethan. From what he could retrieve from his personal notes and Dr. Ibu Ratna’s research on ophiocordyceps, there was initially a distinction between parasite bearers and the infected. The possibility that some animals could now be infected by the CBI would make the pandemic even deadlier than it was at the beginning.

Miri meets others in the Pigsy restorant. They welcome her and try to ask what happening to her when she enters. Miri doesn't answer and stands silently, looking like she's thinking. What is happening …

Tang: Are you sure it's nothing serious, don't you want to talk about it?

Miri: Yes, I'm fine. I have it sometimes…

Mk: seriously? Maybe…

Miri: No!!! I'm fine. Am I not making myself clear?

Red Son: Hey don't you dare speak to us in this way!

Mk: Red Son don't talk to her like that.

2023.7.5 handbook printing

Part 1

I laid out the page8 and part3 images in the same way in AI in 8 grids and finally printed them out as a book base.

Then print out the Mini book, cut it into 4 parts and tape front and back into two parts. Finally, staple the Mini book to the book base.

Part 2

I was going to make a collage on the theme of "People are addicted to the electronic age" in Part 2, but due to time constraints, I couldn't finish it, so I had to use two cardboards to replace its structure.

Part 3

I'm going to do the face and the "masking grid" in two layers in part 3, I'm going to use translucent paper to make a "mask" with a face at the bottom.

However, the ink on the translucent paper was very slippery, so the ink was blurred at the printer's twist and turn, and I tried 3 times, but it failed.

I realised that if I printed on both sides of the paper it would create a crease blur at the turn. So I typeset the image to the middle of the paper to try and print it.

Finally print out and cut to the size of an A7 page and staple to the Part 3 section. Form an interactive form.
