book cover of the prose tristan, perceval by rogelio de egusquiza and mordred by henry justice ford
[ID 1: a brown book cover of the Prose Tristan. /end ID 1 ID 2: an oil painting of a young man with his arms outstretched and light coming from above. Next to it is a black and white picture of a young man in black armour leaning on his sword surrounded by bodies. /end ID 2]
palemedes rescues brangaine in the prose tristan after isolde orders her killed in fear of what she might reveal and she is left tied to a tree. palamedes was himself a suitor of isolde (who does immediately regret ordering her best friend killed and is grateful to have her rescued) and this would provide them both with a happy relationship and ending.
both perceval and mordred are younger siblings and have similar trauma from their backgrounds and thematic parallels, as well as the fact that perceval is generally seen as pellinore's son, and therefore technically in a blood feud with the orkneys, which is perfect for ship potential.
