turns out that wasn't all i was gonna say about him but hear me out he wasn't the WHOLE issue in von sweetsville. like he definitely was shitty and caused poverty

ALLSOO this is like a crack theory probably non canon....hoowwweever

but i don't think the addictive properties of the candies is his fault (we know they ARE addictive, there is someone who is addicted to his candies in a von sweetsville help center mission)

idk if this was early-story-writing-weirdness but teneson says near the beginning of the game, ""...That must be the work of the closest key guardian. Each key guardian controls a territory, and when they feel like they're under attack, they cause disasters to happen..."" and " "...This is definitely the work of the nearest key guardian... ""

these are in reference to nimbus, the guardian of the THUNDERSTORM key, so maybe the owner of the TASTY key could make addictively good candy/food

and maybe thats why his company got so popular, his pandishi's skill and ownership of the tasty key
